Even though I'm not living in South Carolina right now I LOVE The Pit. I will definitely be coming there for the best in Seafood and Pizza on my vacation home from New Orleans. I don't know about hulls being left on any shrimp because every time I've eaten there it's been extremely great! The food is nothing less than mouth watering! The servers may come and go but they have always welcomed me with a warm smile and a ice cold PBR draft lol. The service is beyond top notch. If your looking for the best in lowcountry seafood and pizza then definitely don't over look The Pit. Plus their home made paminto cheese is melt in your mouth to die for. The live music is always a extra added bonus!
The Pit is one of the last authentic beach taverns with live music all year round. Great ambience and a locals favorite. Delicious food and a fun staff make this place a must stop on the south end of the Grand Strand.
At first I was afraid to eat here because it looks so dirty but this place did not disappoint. One of the best burgers and chicken sandwiches we’ve had in a long time. Hughe portion, priced just right along with great service. We will definitely be back.
Food was Ok. Got Pizza it was pretty standard nothing special. Wings were descent. Hard time getting drinks no service sitting outside until later went to bar and stood there several times for a long time before finally being served. Bartender didn't have any idea what was on tap. Cool place to go into with all the dollar bills. Did have a live band that started at 8.

The pizza wasn’t that great but the atmosphere and the service was awesome. Last time I had a burger that was really good but you can’t order a burger after midnight, so I had to order a pizza. They have lights strung up outside & a cool band playing. They have a bar inside and a bar outside as well. With seating both inside and outside. The crowd was cool. It is confusing when you are trying to find the place for the first time but if you turn down the little dirt drive off the main road you can find parking back there as well. If you are following Google Maps that is the way they take you but once you are back there you can see a better way to access it. I recommend this place to locals and visitors. It is great to go with a group or alone. When you go make sure you take $1 bill. You can sign your name on it and staple it to the wall or ceiling. Yes, I absolutely had to. I didn’t want to be left out. They have a sharpie there you can use and a staple gun too. You just need the cash.

Wonderful experience every time I go there! Bartender was friendly with a great pour and helped my mother-in-law with her wine selection. Prompt table wait staff service, always full drinks, and food came out very hot. Each item we got was very tasty!
We picked up food for carry-out. It was ready on time, and was packaged well. I got the shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw, and it was great. The shrimp was large, and not too thickly breaded. Fries were good and plentiful, and the coleslaw was great. I don't always like coleslaw- either too much mayo, too tangy, or too sweet. This was just right. I also had the Caesar salad, which was very good and big. We tried the crab dip, which wasn't our favorite- but we are used to a different style/seasoning. I would definitely get food here again.
Very interesting place. Dollar bills cover walls and much of the ceiling -- and even part of the front on the outside! You need to stop in just to see that.
I LOVE this place!! The food is very good. Prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly, and service was quick. They had a live band which was nice not too loud.
We look forward to this place every time we visit Pauley’s Island. Food and service is always amazing.
-⭐️ only because I just wish the bathrooms were more maintained and the chairs and tables weren’t so flimsy outside and wobbly inside.
This place is a must see… it’s down a small gravel road and fits the description of a hole in a wall restaurant, but this place is amazing. From the live beach feel music to expectation staff this place is worth the trip. We had the crab cakes and grouper po’boy. Both were amazing.
At first my wife and I couldn’t find it but when we did we thought it’s a total dive and we walked in and the atmosphere was totally awesome and the service and food was phenomenal and when we are back in Pawleys Island I’m definitely coming back
