The breakfast tacos are comparable to the Rio Grande Valley, which is known for the best tacos in the world, and this place is 100% homemade (including the tortillas). I Drive from Sugar Land to Jovy's...they're that good!
...if you're looking for upscale, don't bother, this place keeps it real and humble.

I ordered 6 dz. Pork tamales yesterday just before closing. They went out of their way to make them after closing for me to pick up. That was so nice of them. This is my go to place for the best tamales around town.

Traditional Mexican joint - non of that Tex Mex! Mi seguros and Mi esposa approve. Tacos es grande. Gorditas a breakfast style was flavorful and crispy. Must go spot!
I've lived here for 20 years and never tried it. Boy was I wrong. The Hippo taco was huge, flavorful and well balanced. The salsa Verde was bright without being overly spicy. What they called Pico de gallo, was a traditional salsa. It was easily the best salsa I've ever eaten. Can't wait to try more!
Very very good Menudo, a close 2nd to my buddy’s mom’s, God rest her soul. First time to dine here but will be back. Unfortunately at noon on a Wednesday they were out of tamales so I’ll definitely order ahead. Would also appreciate prices on the menu be updated.
Food is delicious! Bit of a wait but worth it. Everything taste homemade down to the tortilla. Chilè is good and spicy but actually has flavor !

This was so good! The chips and salsa were amazing and my entire family loved everything we had! Tamales, Quesadillas, street tacos, burritos.... We were very happy.
Ironically, I don't get tamales here. I always get a barbacoa taco! The meat is really tender and succulent. I like the simplicity of cilantro and onions with meat in a taco. The flour tortilla is nicely grilled. Eat it with the salsa verde!

Omg!!! Tacos???! Yaaass!!! They make the best carne guisada with cheese!! They make the best bean and cheese tacos. They make the best homemade pork and jalapeno tamales!! I would eat there every day if my husband would let me. 😐🥹 I'm addicted to their tacos 100%!! 😅

This place has the best green salsa I have ever tasted. We eat breakfast here every weekend and usually buy a 16 oz. Green salsa to take home and I put it on everything. Best breakfast tacos in town.
I got the tamale plate and it was perfect! I was passing through town and I happened upon it, great hole in the wall place. Would definitely recommend.
