Mi Casa Mexican Cafe

Many very good & some original Tex-Mex dishes that are comparable to other Tex-Mex in the area but without "ambiance" or flair. Venue is charming on the outside but plain inside. Don't let that deter you - service is fast, efficient, and good (don't act like a primadonna and expect to be waited hand & foot however...it's not that kind of place). It's also less $$ than ALL other sit-down full-menu Tex-Mex venues in the area. For my family, it's good food for good value & consistency. More importantly, they have their own particular way of making certain traditional & original entrees that we really love. (Carnitas Dinner for instance, Shrimp Diablo among others.) Not the same playing field as El Toro or La Casona, but you won't wait for a table (or parking), and again, it's less $$...a different inexpensive neighborhood place that's been here several years now. If you're new to the area, it might take a few visits to find the few dishes you love. Tex-Mex, like any US-ethnic fusion, gets its uniqueness from how each places makes it in their own way...if don't find your fav here, there are other places for you to choose. (If you're the kind who thinks Papasitos is Tex-Mex, you're probably too sanitized to like this place, let alone appreciate genuine streetside fare in Mexico itself.)
