Review Nola's - Clinton

Fantastic meal. Everything was on point tonight - cocktails were fantastic, food was well prepared, and beautifully plated. One of the best meals we’ve had this year. This was our first visit to Clinton, New York – But we would return and highly recommend Nola’s. Thank you for a wonderful night.

We had the calamari appetizer, 2 entrees; cauliflower, sausage. We didn’t have dessert. All tasted great. Waitress was sweet and checked back with us often. Definitely a place to return to.

I like Nola's. The bar is nice to sit at, and the service is really good. Quite pleasantly surprised after I found it in Clinton. Update: reduced one star as its closed most of the time. Can't taste the moderately good food if it's closed. Reply to the owner: Exactly! taking out food from a $$$ restaurant is not quite the same experience! If I want to enjoy the ambience of my dining room with good food, I can cook it myself!

What i seen On the internet, versus what i got. I really Think it was chicken and not even duck. Went for my birthday, and the service was good and friendly but just wasn’t what i expected.

This is a cute little restaurant in Clinton, NY. Its food changes often - yet is always extraordinary. Staff is profession and polite. Easy to find parking nearby. One of Utica's best fine dining experiences. Recommend setting reservations ahead of time. Perfect for those visiting from out of town. Highly recommend.

Went for a birthday dinner. 4 rounds of drinks, appetizers, dinners and desserts... so the whole enchilada. First the appetizers were killer. We had the grapefruit carpacio and the shrimp and lobster hot pot. Never realized how amazing grapefruit can be with almond butter and endive. The hot pot was chef kiss perfect with the ginger coconut curry. Bestie had the salmon (excellent) and I had the chicken schitznel (perfectly cooked and the potato salad was banging). Desserts were top notch for the bourbon pecan pie and the dark chocolate pot de creme. Drinks were cranberry sangria, pear mule, 2 rounds of the white grape cosmos (amazing) and a round of the Mexican espresso martini with dessert. All drinks were awesome with the cosmos for the win. Server paige was great. She was pretty busy with the bar but did a great job. We love Nolas and really like going there for big events to really enjoy the evening.

Was very happy with the salmon dish i decided to try. It was perfect. The staff was very fast and friendly. Drinks, dinner, and dessert are all spot on. I highly recommend.

Disappointing Unfortunately our meal overall was very disappointing. The ambience of Nola’s is very good, the service was very good but most of the food was poor. The ‘special starter’ was good, we had Seared Scallops and Pork Belly with Cider Reduction, Apple Salad and Jalapeño Polenta Croutons The scallops (2) were well cooked and tender. The accompanying apple salad and Polenta Croutons were also good. The Pork Belly was tasty although somewhat black from being ‘torched’ too much. The cider reduction was drizzled on the plate and a little sparse. We then had the house salad. Regrettably I sent mine back, there were several rotten spots on the leaves and quite a lot of brown discoloration. My salad had one small cherry tomato cut in half and a sprinkling of grated carrot on the top. My wife kept her salad but left most of it. Not a lot of effort had been made to produce a fresh crispy appetizing salad. For my entrée I decided to try the Ricotta Chive Dumpling with thyme gravy, roasted baby carrots, leeks and asparagus, lemon marinated trumpet mushroom and snow pea salad. The food was well presented and looked appetizing however, the Chive Dumplings were somewhat solid and stodgy. If they had Chives or Ricotta you would have never known. They were pretty tasteless and bland. The thyme gravy appeared to be based on tomato soup and again not a hint of thyme flavor. The mushrooms did not taste as if they had been marinated. My roasted baby carrots looked pretty grown up to me and boiled not roasted. I did like the asparagus shoots but try as I might I could not find any leeks. The snow pea salad was crispy and good. Overall uninspiring and bland. My wife chose the grilled lamb loin chops, charred green onion chimichurri, asparagus, and red quinoa. Again the food was well presented and looked appetizing. The lamb was requested to be medium and ‘pink’, however the chops were overcooked, tough and chewy. The chimichurri and red quinoa could have come straight from a supermarket pot and did not add sparkle to this dish. The asparagus was good. My wife managed to eat the meat from half of a chop before deciding to take the rest home for our dog. This was a great disappointment as we were looking forward to this meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Nola’s has great service, friendly staff and a wonderful restaurant atmosphere. It is a great pity that the food served on this occasion let the side down.

Awesome meal. Great portions. I had the duck and it was fabulous. My wife had the steak and it was cooked perfect. Staff was great and knowledgeable of the menu. Great price for quality of meal. A hidden treasure in the Mohawk Valley. Fully recommend Nola's.

My husband and I stopped in for brunch yesterday. Our 2nd time there and it was, again, fabulous! Got the special (thanks to our waitress saying not a menu item and I would be wondering all day what it tasted like!)...brioche French toast stuffed with Carmalized pear! Amazing! Mike had beer braised hash served with eggs and rye toast. Says their hash is best he's ever had!!!! This is now our new "go to" place for Sunday brunch. Great food, great relaxing atmosphere, and such a friendly staff! We will be back!

not worth the hype...duck was dry and under seasoned but if you like to over pay for food because of ...i don't know the atmosphere?? well ok not a favorite. the 3 scallops were cooked well but small and 3 for 2 people is skimpy. The drinks were fine but not anytihng to rave about.

The "newly renovated" Nolas is absolutely fantastic. The decor is amazing. The new menu is full of delicious appetizers and entrees. The custom made drinks are top notch, and the staff makes your dining experience a memorable one.

We had our wedding dinner in Nola's private room on April 7th, and we could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Leah went above and beyond to create the perfect atmosphere for our special day. The space looked absolutely beautiful! Leah was very approachable and answered any questions we had leading up to the event, and offered many excellent ideas when we were not quite sure how we wanted things to flow. Not only were the staff and ambience excellent, but the food was AMAZING. We fully recommend Nola's for your next dinner party!

One word: Yummy! I ended up having both lunch and dinner here. I had thhe bruger for lunch, and it was one of the best restaurant burgers I’ve had. Solid, tasty, with a mix of items which preserved all flavors. In the evening, I had a lollipop lamb chop appetizer with an arugula/cherry tomato salad. Very well-sourced cherry tomatoes (it is February, after all), well-caramelized onions, and harissa tabneh, as well as two prefectly done chops was a perfect light supper. Excelletn short list of well-crafted beers helped top off the meal.

Nola's is an outstanding dining experience with an excellent seasonal menu and service. When I lived in Clinton, I dined here on at least a weekly basis and never had anything less than a great meal. I look forward to returning to Clinton and seeing the renovations to the restaurant and eating the great food once again. Keep up the good work!

So, I always loved eating at Nola's, but had to post this so that they could take constructive criticism and fix this. I ordered paella for $28. I've had it several times before at other restaurants along the east coast. I was served a hockey puck shaped lump of room temperature yellow rice on one side of the plate. the "paella," had mussells, shrimp, octopus in it. There were slices of chorizo sausage, cherry tomatoes and julienned pieces of peppers and onions, too. By the way, it was cold. The octopus was soo tough and rubbery that I couldn't chew it enough to swallow it. Had to spit it out. The sauce that was on all of this tasted like watered down tomato paste. I asked the waiter to reheat my dinner for me. He did. He asked if everything was ok. I told him about the octopus and he said that they were having a problem with that and that they were going to start using squid in the paella in the future. (Then why did I get the octopus?) Paella is supposed to be made with the rice cooked in the broth of the seafood and tomato sauce with saffron and other vegetables. A real dissapointment!!! If the octopus was continually tough and customers complained about it, why would they serve it to me? Did they have to use up their supply on me for $28 before cleaning up the recipe?

We enjoyed a fabulous brunch on Sunday! We're in Rome, but I love having such a special restaurant within a short drive.

Love this place, always good food and great service.

Nola's was booked tonight for a special function so we were directed to their Annex. I am currently "suffering" with a special watermelon salad appetizer. I love Nola's. In a relatively small town, we are so fortunate to have such a good restaurant with very reasonable prices. To the management, "Keep it up!"

We LOVE trips to Nola's for lunch or dinner, and have stopped here on route to casino. Great service, awesome and tasty food cooked to perfection. I especially enjoy the new and innovative taste sensations. Had lunch there on 2/24/17 and was again pleased with everything.

Best restaurant in Clinton! We love going to the wine bar next door for a drink and appetizer then walking to Nola's for dinner.

Nola's looks beautiful...as always the food is excellent, and everyone is friendly

Food is very hit or miss, very few vegetarian options, and wait staff is either fantastic or atrocious. Last time I was in for lunch my salad was missing an important part and when I asked my waitress about it she argued with me!!! I was floored. It will definitely take a really good meal for me to be willing to come back, which will be extra hard because their vegetarian selection is so small.

Absolutely delicious every time! I love how they change the menu when the seasons change. I'm not one for trying new things, but my fiancée is so when an appetizer comes out he ordered, I'll try a piece and love it. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming and the staff are superb. Parking never seems to be an issue. We've tried other restaurants similar to Nola's and they couldn't compare to what Nola's has to offer.

We came in last night with our family of 13 before the Re-dedication of the Moses Foote (my husband's 5xGreat Grandfather) Monument! What a fantastic place... absolutely beautiful!!! The food was fantastic & our waitress was very friendly & courteous to all of us! The prices were very reasonable too!
