Olaf’s Restaurant

We have not yet dined in, so this review is based primarily off of our take-out experience. The Good: - The wait-staff was outstanding. They were informative, patient and professional. - The chicken was cooked to perfection. The flatbread was delicious. The salad w/ blue cheese was a pleasant surprise. - The interior was unique and definitely sets the place apart from a traditional restaurant experience. The Bad: - For the price point, the meal portions were rather small in my opinion, particularly the salad and the shrimp appetizer (what can I say, I enjoy shrimp and need more of it! =) Overall: I'll definitely be back to try the dine-in experience, but overall, the take-out experience was pleasant and convenient. Big group came in after we did, received much more attention. Our appetizer was hot, but when dinners arrived my Chicken breasts were cold mac & cheese was hot, my husband's Chilean sea bass on risotto was not hot! We had to ask for dessert menu! When lattes with Kailua and one with Baileys was cold when they arrived! Main attention was always on large group! It was like they didn't have enough wait staff. I'm very sorry our experience for our first time was like this as we were really looking forward to eating a very nice dinner tonight! I am looking forward to a response. My suggestion is when you have a large party have a dedicated wait staff for just them!!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for some time now so here it goes. My favorites at Olaf’s are abundant! For starters, anytime they have the frenched rack of lamb in the kitchen it’s a no brainer! Simple the best lamb recipe ever and cooked to perfection! Even if you don’t like lamb.. or think you don’t like lamb, it’s a must try! Appetizer, try the prosciutto wrapped asparagus! All the flat breads are great too.. the bbq chicken flatbread is my favorite but I enjoy them all. My wife’s favorite at Olaf’s is the pan seared Norwegian salmon! She gets its pretty much every time we go! If you are in the mood for fish, I will agree, it’s a fine choice! The salmon is always perfectly cooked (which when it come to fish is so important) and sits on top of hatch chili grits! Super tasty!! Olaf’s is also a great place for adult beverages.. good wine list.. bartender knows how to mix up anything you typically enjoy! Atmosphere is always important and this place definitely sets the mood for a nice evening out! However, I’ve been known to show up by myself fairly casual and no one judges you but greets you with a smile! Great outside courtyard area where you can enjoy live music a lot of times. Check them out.. the best evening out in Clifton hands down.. and if you want to get away from the blah while in Waco, it’s a beautiful drive and you will never regret it!

This was a perfect evening, perfect meL, perfect music... after not going out for 6 months we had enough. My daughter-in-law told me of the place and said the I outdoor dining looked "safe" so we gave it a shot. The COVID safety precautions were great. Tables 10 feet apart, staff wearing mask and gloves, kept distance, etc. The food was really good, albeit. Bit pricey. Based on the whole experience it was well worth it. We went on a Friday night so there was live music. "31st Street" provided a perfect ambiance to the evening with a unique take on Familiar songs. (If they could only add the Statler Brothers to their repertoire!) As I said at the beginning, it was the perfect evening for me and my family and recommend it for anyone who wants the same!
