Review The South Side - Cleveland

Something for everyone!! Warm inviting atmosphere. The food was great, the price was less then expected. Quality and quantity is always a bonus at any restaurant. It gets fairly busy, parking can be a bit difficult during the evening but definitely worth the small sacrifice. Dont forget the fried pickles!!!!

South Side was unexpected. We went to celebrate with a friend who was about to get married. It was a perfect atmosphere. The drinks and food were good. I got chicken and French toast, not chicken and waffles, lol. It was totally better with the French Toast. We had a blast, and we will return.

I like this place, the food was good. But the pulled pork taco was not cooked properly and gamy. The salsa has no salt. Generally, it is a nice place to gather at, location is great.

Great lunch location in Tremont. Updated interior with nice variety of choices on the menu. Fun bar area with small separate dining room and patio for the warmer months. >> Update after a warm, fun and tasty Holiday luncheon - so welcoming, so good and our server was just right. I recommend the Short Rib Tacos, Flank Steak and wings 😋 Merry & Happy is well done here.

Nice atmosphere for a late night vibe. Nice service and great food and drinks.

Their Mother Mary bloody mary is a work of art. Not only does it taste great, it’s a meal and drink for three.

This spot in Tremont was great! Quick to get a seat, a nice outdoor space for good weather times, and the drinks were amazing (I recommend the Strawberry Fields when it's available). The food was so-so nothing crazy, but overall a place I'd definitely return to at the very least for another cocktail!

We ordered the sea bass and the lamb chops, and I have to say both were very delicious. I love the meal deal that they offer, it’s very worth it! We left happy with our experience.

Just had a great experience at The South Side. The food was great - I tried the Tiger Crab sandwich and loved it! My friend got the burger and that was good too. Fresh cut fries. The atmosphere on the inside is super cool and laid back. Staff was very nice. Not too far from I-71 or I-90 - Gets you close to downtown Cleveland!

Absolutely amazing! I popped in here a season or two ago on a whim, and I haven't had the chance to come back. Not for a lack of trying, I couldn't remember the name of the place. (little tipsy when I came last) However thanks again to the host guy who made my 5 top happen. It was fantastic to catch up with my friends and eat y'all's amazing food. Check out their brunch menu, it's insane. Breakfast perogies?! French toast pumpkin rolls? The hot mess open face burger was amazing, the sauce, the burger.. I could probably put that sauce on everything. Thanks for an amazing experience, I'll be sure to put in a reservation for the next Sunday I come!

Nice place woth good food options and drink. Mixed drink with strawberry ice was very smooth. Rosemary fries r worth a try. Lettuce wraps and lamb burger were great. Definitely will be back.

Brussels sprouts & Korean beef lettuce wraps were a win! Drinks are good. Most importantly the service is great from the moment you walk in the door. The South Side is a great bar and restaurant located in Tremont. This establishment is near other hot spots in the area and also close to the highway for a quick eat and run! No need to search for street parking due to a large parking lot located directly across the street. Inside, the bar has been modernized and equipped with plenty of table seating and bar seating. The bartenders and servers are all nice who make consistent checks on drinks and tables. Speaking of drinks, I enjoyed a Bloody Mary (or 3) and I was very impressed. They make their own mix which has a unique flavor that will have you requesting more than just one! I also feasted on the shrimp and chicken tacos with a side of lobster mac & cheese. I think that their lobster mac was delicious, but the tacos lacked (still good though) in presentation and flavor compared to other local restaurants. Overall, The South Side is a must visit restaurant in Cleveland! You'll leave satisfied with money left in your pocket! Give it a try!

The South Side This was blocks away from Barrio where we ate the night before. It has a parking lot which is a plus. We were there on a holiday, so we were lucky that it was open and ready for business. Though we were warned that there was a shortage on staff so the wait time for service may be long. It was fine. Both places we went to are in an area called Tremont which has been described as “hipster paradise” and yes you can see it. Food. The enchiladas were actually a highlight. During this trip we have been burned, unfortunately not literally, by the taste of just horribleness of the uncooked tortillas we had encountered in Virginia. (We were driving back to Chicago and stopped in Cleveland, yes on purpose). So the enchiladas here not bad, I would order them again. My cobb salad was delicious, I mean it’s a salad, you can’t mess up a salad. The chicken and waffles were decent, the chicken was just oversize nuggets or chicken fingers. We also ordered a ramen, which we should have read the description of. We are used to ramen having a broth or being a soup, and though we did get the noodles and stuff it just felt like it was missing something. Again, its just us assuming it would be broth-y and not like a dry soup. Overall I do recommend the place service was normal, the waitstaff was attentive and we didn’t encounter any exceeding long wait. If we find ourselves in Cleveland again, yes on purpose, we might stop here again.

They had a decent brunch crowd, so I was hoping it would be a good experience. I was wrong. I work in a restaurant. I am very forgiving. But the service wasn't there. He took our order and disappeared. I had to ask other workers walking around for service. I even had to walk on the other side of the restaurant to find our server to ask for the check. It seemed as if they were rotating the whole restaurant. For the crowd they had, the servers need to be placed in sections. So for that I will place the blame on management. Food wise: I got the eggs Benedict. The meat was as tough as jerky. The person I was with ordered the breakfast burrito and it smelled like body odor. Cleanliness: dust everywhere, sticky tables. All in all, I probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Best place for Sunday brunch! I would say Saturday as well but the steak and eggs isn’t offered that day which is fine. The chicken and waffles dish is amazing! Great place for food and drinks!

Love love love this place. Haven’t been in ages which is a big mistake. Great atmosphere, it just screams Cleveland! We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was just over the top delicious with an Asian flair. For my meal I had the chicken and waffles. It was perfect. Cinnamon butter, maple syrup and a hot sauce. Crispy waffle on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My cousin had the tacos and loved them! Great beer list and our waiter was sooo nice!

I've lived in Tremont for over 17 years. I've seen restaurants come and go. Over the years southside has had some of the best food anywhere. They change up the menu every now and then and just keep producing some of the tastiest food in Tremont.

Great food and great drinks. Definitely one of the best brunch spots in town. Highly recommend checking them out.

Never a let down. Great food, good price. Awesome service. So many great meals to choose from. Everything is Awesome. Hands down my favorite place to eat n drink!!

Bring back the Crispy Chicken Mac n' Cheese! If you like cheffed (probably not a word but it's mine, feel free to use it) up food this is the place for you. Atmosphere is great, love the patio.
