Best bbq in the world every time I drive by I have to stop and get some food. I love everything thing like the old fashion buns, bbq sauce, and I even love their potato salad.

The BEST Bar-Be-Que in Louisiana. I can't say that I've had everything on the menu at Grayson's because I fill up on the ham and the ribs every time I go. I even reschedule meetings in that area so they don't fall on a Monday, the day the restaurant is closed.
What do I like? The smoked ham is number one. It is not sliced with some mechanical device, hell no. It is slice by loving hands in uneven but delicious slices. The homemade bar-be-que sauce is good but unnecessary. Ask them to put it on the side. The homemade buns of fantastic as are the pork ribs. The beans are from a can but are doctored a little. I don't like potato salad so I will not comment on that side item, but when I go for bar-be-que I want meat and that's what you get at Grayson's that is smoked with pecan wood and tender loving care. After eating, I always get a ham sandwich to go and I've never had one last past Opelousas.
Go check them out but not on Monday. And it is worth the hour round trip detour off I-49, if you are going that way.
The Best of the Best. Born and raised in Natchitoches, LA. I made many a trip to Grayson's in my early years and as an adult. George and his brother has always raised the bar with his wonderful pork ribs, sandwiches, beans, potato salad and their awesome pecan pies (Thursday's). Their Father, from meager means in a very small building off of Hwy. 6 began a wonderful journey in allowing soo many people from soo many places taste his excellent pork B-B-Q. The rest his history. I am so very proud to know them and when I return to LA. next year....my mouth will be around a B-B-Q sanwich and some pie.
A National Treasure. Every time I go in this place I leave in tears. Why can't I live next door to Grayson's, oh Lord?!

You will meet people from all over the state and south when here. Worth a 3 hour detour.
Best Ever. I have been going to Grayson's for about 40 years. Though I live an hour away, a lot of weekends I will drive to Clarence to get a couple of sandwiches.
When I was going to college I had to pass by Grayson's a couple of times each week and usually stoped. People talk about getting a beer belly when they go off to college, I got a Grayson's belly.
When I was a youngster I would go to the cattle sale in Clarence with my dad and we always got us a sandwich. Their homemade buns are the best.
And having a ham from Grayson's for the holidays was the best. Dang, I might have to go up there tomorrow.
Grayson's is famous for their BBQ as we all know. So, it's no surprise that the BBQ chipped meat sandwiches were amazing as was the potato salad and bbq beans. However, the pecan pie, that I love so much, was not what it used to be. Every piece we bought was overcooked and lacked its usual great flavor. I give only four stars for that reason. If you want great BBQ sandwiches and don't mind spending a few extra dollars , then get to Grayson's, they got you covered.
Don't let the outside of this restaurant detour you from stopping in. I stopped here based upon a friend saying, "they have the best BBQ. . ." Folks, I can not argue about that. Bought a pound of ribs and should have bought three. OUTSTANDING BBQ and albeit it is a bit of distance from me, I will be going back! Worth the drive! Great customer service. . .
