Review Walter's Restaurant And Bakery - Claremont

It is a nice restaurant, located in downtown area of Claremont! I have been here several times. The meals, that I have ordered, were delicious. At the same time, they were well prepared. The wait time, for the meals, was not long. In addition, the waiters, who tended my table, were helpful and attentive. The cocktails, too, were well-made. So, I would recommend anyone who enjoys fine-dining, to visit this restaurant. Of course, prices were on the expensive side. Still, despite this inflation, they were worth it. Therefore, I will visit this restaurant again. However, first, I need to allocate discretionary funds.

Very enjoyable experience. We took a friend for his Birthday. Food, service and atmosphere, very nice. The only thing that bothered me, is that my notes weren’t in our reservation, but it was quickly rectified. I also wanted to add that the three of us very rarely finish our dinner. However, at Walter’s the three of us finished everything, the portion sizes were plenty. We all thought the food was very good and didn’t wanted to finish our meals. Walter’s has a beautiful large patio. However, at the time we ate dinner it was too hot to sit outside, so we sat inside, which was also lovely. When we were finished with our meal, then the weather was nice enough to sit outside. We have to time it next time we dine at Walter’s, so that we can sit on their lovely patio. At any rate, we definitely will be returning to Walter’s Restaurant and Bar in Claremont. I hope the owner sees my review. The three of us like to see an independent restaurant such as Walter’s succeed.

We had high expectations for Walters. Its an old mainstay of Claremont and we had heard high praise for Walters- multiple times .Full points on ambience and service. But alas food wasn't all that impressive. Lamb dishes lacked flavor and so did the pasta. The best dish on the table was the simple Goat Cheese pizza. The Afghan fries fell short on seasoning and flavor . The Asparagus fries were just ok. Dessert on the other hand was pretty good...the Tiramisu and Apricot tart saved the day. Really sad this one didn't meet the expectations!.

We’ve been coming to Walter’s for well over 40 years now! Did I just say that? They are part of the fabric of our family. Great service, food and the ambiance (morning or night) is second to none. Dawoud and his entire staff have it all dialed in! Oh … and Great Bloody Mary’s too! 😉

It's a quiet whimsical little cozy place..friendly staff and efficient...their complementary bread is so good..our 1st time there and definitely not our last. Next time will be for dinner 🍽 😋

It's more relaxed than I expected and it's great! Food was delicious, drinks were wonderful too. Their happy hour menu is affordable and delicious! The servers are attentive and friendly.

We went to see a speaker and needed dinner after before we took the long drive home. I haven't been in Claremont for many years, but someone suggested going to the Village. We came upon Walter's, a place that I remember from my youth, and were thrilled to find that it was open late. We ordered dinner and I was so impressed by everything we had. Super tasty and the service was really great. We started with asparagus fries which came with a lime sauce that is to die for. My husband got chicken kebabs and I got the tandoori salmon. Everything was so good! Made for a nice impromptu date!

Ambiance is a 5. Food and service is a 2 (maybe even a 1.5). Do not order the house soup unless you've had it before and know exactly what you are in store for. The appetizer sampler was very good. The quiche was a quiche.

We've eaten here for well over a decade and keep coming back for more. Sunday brunch is my favorite meal. The eggs Benedict are some of the best I've eaten and are consistently good. Who doesn't like Afghan Fries? Served hot. The salads are yummy and menu is diverse.

This is the 2nd time in the last 30 days I have had lunch and service was slow. The first times it was busy and the server was distracted. We seemed to be an inconvenience. This time it was just slow. Had to wait for drinks, bread and service. The server did tell us after 30 minutes they did not have a bartender, but a server did just arrive who could make drinks! One thing, which is never a miss, the good was awesome. It was quick to come out once we ordered. It appears they have server shortage and possibly understaffed since it was the day after Christmas.

Very disappointed . We booked Walter's for a bridal shower months ago . Reserved a private room off the patio . They took it upon themselves to move us to the patio, obviously because they had another larger party that they gave the private room to. We had given them a deposit upon booking and three weeks before , when we came to pick our menu , they showed my daughter the room she was getting . One week before when we gave them our final count they still said nothing . It was so hot and humid ! We had quite a few of older ladies there . One almost 90. The fact they would do this was unbelievable . We have lived in Claremont for 6 years. Frequent Walter's often . The fact they would do this is such poor business !

I drive all the way to Walter’s from LA (40 miles each way) a few times a year for their amazing Afghan specialties. My fave is the Kabuli Pilaf, aromatic rice with carrots, raisins and nice chunks of lamb - and I always take a couple bottles red spicy chutney home with me. Large restaurant yet it’s cozy and warm. Good professional service.

Had the most delicious lunch yesterday! I love spicy food and the spicy chicken pasta dish was absolutely delicious! The service was top notch. Afterwards we toured the many rooms just perfect for large and small private gatherings. This restaurant and the folks that run it are excellent at their craft and it shows!!!

I have been there several times and it is a great restaurant with great food. Food for a casual lunch or a nice dinner. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been going to Walter’s for years, and have seen it grow and evolve for nearly thirty years. The food and service are consistently good. Whenever I’m in Claremont, Walter’s is my first choice

Always amazing and service outstanding. Outside seating gets a beautiful breeze running through it. Special place in my heart, been going here since 1977.

Nice variety in menu choices. A bit pricey but the food and atmosphere was good.

Had s very expensive crab sandwich and the bread was dry.
