The Pickled Pig in Walnut Hills is one of my favorite recent finds. The small deli specializes in smoked meats and fermented/pickled sides. Orders are placed at the counter and the menu focuses on sandwiches and deli-style salads. For lunch, I decided to try the smoked turkey sandwich ($12) topped with sauerkraut, tomme (a French/Swiss cheese), and Russian dressing on sourdough rye, a sort of turkey Reuben. I really enjoyed this sandwich with its piled high delightfully smoky turkey. The bread was also outstanding! On the side, I had their Korean carrots (a $3 add-on to the sandwich), a sweet and sour pickled delight. They also have potato salad, beet & apple salad, chicken salad, egg salad, hummus, and more. If the Pickled Pig were closer to my house it would definitely be in my weekly rotation for lunch. But even so, I will have to remember to stop in again for more delicious food.

Truly amazing!!! I travel all over the US for work and am a huge fan of sandwiches always looking for cool or unique places. The turkey was so moist, such amazing smoky flavor! The bread was toasted perfectly and so flavorful with the pickled cabbage as the perfect pairing to bring it all together!! I will be back again on my next trip!!

Delicious! I had the Korean carrots and grilled cheese. Always winners. The carrots are seriously one the best things I've ever tasted! Staff is always friendly. Space is welcoming and cool, if you know what I mean?! Highly recommend!

Good place to get a salad or sandwich. The pulled pork was really good, but needed a sauce. The veggie sandwich was absolutely delicious for what was on it, but there just wasn't much. Seemed more like bread with a spread on it and a thin layer of cucumber slices than an actual sandwich. Definitely not enough to make a filling meal and overpriced. Otherwise tho the potato salad was really good

Made a stop here after arriving from Seattle. It's a restaurant created by sandwich-lovers so you can rest assured that the ingredients in each sandwich or burger was carefully selected and made from scratch. They butcher and process their own meats which was evident in the flavorful and moist patties of our burgers. I recommend the pork burger if it's your first time. Worth a time to visit for a meal and a chat with the owner Gary!

Kind and attentive staff. The outdoor space is a hidden gem decorated with beautiful flowers and the glimpse of downtown. All the food we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The one item that blew my mind was the Black Bean Soup - literally the BEST that I’ve ever had in my entire life… and it’s Vegan (which makes it even more impressive).

An absolutely adorable place that makes you feel at home. Met a friend for lunch and had pork burgers with Kimchi and goat cheese. Crazy delicious!! The owners are so friendly and down to earth. They also have outdoor seating. Just a lovely place!

I got food from here the other day and it was delicious! The inside was super cute and I wish I could have dinned in instead of getting take out. The staff was friendly when I called to place my order and had my food ready on time. I got the smoked turkey sandwich and black bean soup which were both great! A few areas I think they could improve in: -I think they need a better combo or mix and match option for soup/salad/sandwich on their menu. I would each there all the time if I could get 2 of those things for $10 or under. Spending $16 for a sandwich and soup was a splurge for me and I won’t be making it one of my go to restaurants for that reason. -I really think you should get a pickle with your sandwich if the name of the restaurant is the pickled pig ;) it would be a nice touch and be more memorable

I was dying for a "real" turkey sandwich and happened upon this gem in the neighborhood where I grew up. The sliced turkey was so moist and flavorful that I dont think I'll want turkey any other way. The bread was toasted to perfection with a wonderful chew. I topped mine with pickled onions. This was a masterfully elevated sandwich. I also got a side of the potato salad. Wonderfully fresh dill and a perfect mayonnaise ratio. A gourmet meal at a great price point. Thoroughly satisfied 😌
