Best place in the area for Chinese take-out. Don’t be deterred by the look of the interior - it’s not an eat-in type of place. Hours can be unpredictable because its just a couple who runs the place. They definitely close earlier than the posted times, order early to be safe. You won’t be disappointed! Recommendation: shrimp stir-fried noodles.

Everything we needed in a local Chinese restaurant. Familiar and amazing food at very reasonable prices for good portions. Good selection as well and service is quick for being hot and fresh! Love watching the shrimp and fish in the big tank as well, cute place with lots of plants. Can't wait to eat in at some point in the future, but take-out once a week does the trick for now!

Really good food and great prices. We haven’t had a bad dish and we’ve ordered about 25 times. Really nice owner/staff and is always ready on time and fresh. We live in the neighborhood and this is the only Chinese place we will order from.

Was craving Chinese take out and after seeing the great reviews, I placed a carry out order. I was disappointed after observing how dirty the restaurant and kitchen were. I ordered shrimp fried rice and the shrimp were not deveined so I basically had plain fried rice since I had to just pick them out. The egg rolls were not great. I recommend Shang Hai Inn on Damen which was unfortunately closed today.
