La Cocina Restaurant

This is one of my main places to come for Mexican food near where I work. I especially like the tacos, as they are made fresh and taste like the tacos I have found in the barely-English speaking holes in the wall of Pilsen. While the atmosphere may not be very cozy, that probably isn't why you'd be coming here. For lunch, the service is efficient and you can be in and out within 15 minutes if you ate in. If you do eat in, the waitress provides chips and salsa on the side. They have the typical selection of Jarritos and Mexican Coke in the glass bottles. But be careful if you ask for a water at the counter, as they may think you're asking for a $2+ bottle of it. I hope this place sticks around because I come here time and time again for the tacos and quick service.

This place is totally a joke .. the waitress, the cashier guy . The steak was old , smelled terrible bad and dry . So after I complained the waitress said they do it fresh per order .. and then I saw like 3 containers full of precooked steak right in front on the register just jetting dry and old . Never coming back to this unsanitary place

Generous portions and affordable prices! Staff is super friendly, I really want to give this place 5 starts but the burrito I got was a little messy and the sauce on it was salty. Maybe caught them on a bad night. Wish they would change up the Interior decor and made it a little more modern to attract a younger crowd!

The food always tastes great, and on one particular day a few weeks ago it tasted especially good. Unfortunately for myself and 3 of my coworkers, we received horrible food poisoning. There were intense plumbing issues for everyone who ate anything with steak. We ate it on a Friday and the illness was so intense we missed work on Monday. Can never go back. :(
