The food was very delicious and the service was great. Wonderful location as you’re able to see a lot of the beautiful Chicago architecture along the Chicago river. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the decor seems very old and outdated. Other than that, I enjoyed myself.
I hadn’t been to this location in some years. The waiter was courtesy and had decent recommendations. Actually, the pictures are his favorite two entrees on the menu. We started with Oysters Rockefeller, which we great! I forgot to take pictures before we ate them. So shells down are what you see. The Prosecco Sangria was tasty. My friend had the Salmon fish with crab. She cleaned her plate! Lol! I had the mixed grill, which includes a crab cake, salmon & crab stuffed shrimp (3). I had a doggy bag, but the food was tasty. For dessert, my friend has the Fruit in a chocolate bag. Very cute and very good. I ended with the Spiked Mocha! Yep, yummy! No complaints, except there’s no real parking around the restaurant, only very competitive street/metered parking. For those traveling public transit. The green & blue line stops are a block away on Lake St. All in all, it was a good experience!
Stopped in for happy hour and loved the food. Service was nice too! They didn’t really have any drink specials but when you get a drink, you’re able to purchase a pretty wide variety of happy hour specials on food, ranging from $4-$10. Great spot to stop in and their general menu looked great as well.
We really enjoyed McCormick & Schmick's this past Friday night. The interior is inviting, comfortable, and classy. The food (I had the Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Sixty South Salmon) was excellent! My daughter had the Herb Grilled Chicken which was also excellent. Really no complaints – our server Mark did a great job all around.
First of all, lol! Why’s it so cold inside the restaurant? We couldn’t get cozy up and enjoy our food. I don’t like to eat with my coat on. Lol.
Not sure I would eat there again. Very small portion of food. The food was good. Very tasty. We eventually ended up getting pizza and ice cream later - ‘cause I wasn’t full. LOL! 😂 my fiancé enjoyed his meal though. Maybe what I ordered just wasn’t enough. Maybe a different dish would have fulfill me.
Great location yes, not my vibe.

Thanksgiving Day dinner review... This is the McCormick & Schmick's in downtown Chicago, across from the Trump tower. If using CTA, take the Lake St. exit. Very classy, real linen napkins and real linens on the table, black-liveried waiters. The Shrimp Kisses appetizer was delicious, 4 large bacon wrapped shrimp with pepper jack cheese. 5 stars, at least.
The side salad was beautiful, but kind of boring, nothing but arugula and similar greens, no tomatoes or other vegetables. Didn't take long to eat, lol. My companion had the butternut squash soup, which was only a small cup, but said it was delicious. The restaurant will bring you some delicious hot bread with butter, but apparently you have to ask.
We had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, which was a few slices of turkey, a scoop of dressing, a large scoop of mashed potatoes and a scoop of something else hot I couldn't really identify but was really good, along with some wonderful green beans. It's not as much as you would probably eat at a family Thanksgiving dinner, but it was ample and quite good, a solid four stars. The slice of turkey dark meat that I got was really tough and not very tasty. I ate a little of it and left the tough parts on my plate. My companion, I note, gave up on his slice of dark meat, also.
The dinner was $32, not including the excellent slice of pumpkin pie we had and not including the shrimp appetizer, which I thought was a fabulous bargain. A lot of tony restaurants in Chicago were charging $75-135 for their TG dinners, and I'm sure they were good, but still...
