Located in Chicago Chinatown, mayflower is a restaurant that serves solid dim sum. I went around lunch time on a Sunday, and it was busy. The establishment was filled with locals, and it was loud as people were conversing over the food. There are too many dishes to go over, but here are 3 things that were good during this visit:
1. Loh Mai Fan, sticky rice: it’s fried style (rather than steamed) and has peanuts.
2. Lo Bak Go, turnip cake: crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
3. Wu Gok, Crispy taro puff: crispy outside filled with taro and meat on the inside.
It isn’t the fanciest, but it’s relatively inexpensive for going out for dim sum. If you’re in Chinatown, check this place out if you’re looking for a good place for dim sum.

Hearty portions. Delicious food. Very reasonable prices. The bowl of chicken congee was three times the size I was expecting.

Traditional Cantonese cuisine. If you are a tourist, you might have difficulty ordering unless you use the menu and show them what you want. Today I got their beef brisket over rice. The presentation is not the best but the food is good. Wish they added more vegetables or something so it looks a bit nicer. Another heads up is all of their lunch special is now $7.80. As a general rule of thumb, tip in cash too!

Nice place. Not many other customers at first. Then what appeared to be regulars and respected members of the community came filtering in and joined others at the different large round cloth covered tables. Wait staff were ok. It a whole lot of conversation. I would check out other restaurants to compare taste. So many to try in Chinatown .

Even for one of these quick-service, no-frills Chinese dim sum eateries, the service level was downright appalling. Can't tell if it were spite or incompetence, but let's just say the wait staff wasn't happy with me when I pointed out politely that my dish was completely cold. At least they took it back. Still, the food was lousy even taking into account the reasonable prices. This and the rude staff make me give the place two stars.

My experience wasn’t so good. We got to the restaurant and it was empty. The waiter who was there from the first moment received us in an unfriendly way. When the food arrived at our table I realize that the chopsticks were dirty, it had a hair. When I asked them to please bring me cutlery they came with a bunch of plastic cutlery. Despite being the only ones in the restaurant, they didn’t give us good attention. I ordered the sesame chicken and fried rice, it was ok. But one of the extra orders of fried rice was burnt and didn't taste good at all as well as the sweet and sour spare ribs, I don’t recommend it. I’ve been to several restaurants in china town and he is the first that I had such a bad experience.

With all due respect this place was horrible. I went with my in-laws and my husband. We all ordered something to eat and the waiter didn't bother to tell me that their Large soup was REALLY LARGE.. I mean JUMBO STATUS probably enough to feed 5 people and have some leftovers. Additionally, the texture of the soup looked like someone's vomit. The waiter hardly interacted with us and he forgot my husband's fried rice, he finally brought it 30min after when my husband was done eating his orange chicken.
Their mongolian beef had some crunchy noodles that were simply bland. I was very disappointed with my overall experience. My family was disappointed too, I'm definitely not going back to this place nor referring anyone I know here.
