La Cocina - Chicago - Photo album

Great local, family-run hidden neighborhood gem! Delicious homemade food! Wonderful portion size & price; we had leftovers! We can't wait to go back.
Excellent indigenous puerto rican cuisine all of the standard favorites from stuffed potato balls (relleno de paps)to steak (bistec encebollada) with onion , alcapurrias, red beans and rice. The pasteles were mediocre but everything else was outstanding ..service was exceptional..friendly and welcom
I stopped by with a date and we found a table immediately. The waitress came to greet us as soon as we sat. I ordered a pastel to start, and it was on a plate in front of me after 10min. It was great. (: I then placed my order for the mofongo plate w white rice & beans, and boy was I satisfied. Beau
Baby! The food took me back to Puerto Rico. Very good and tasty food. The Jibarito is very good. You have to go to this restaurant while in Chicago.
Overpriced bland food. Pasteles are only masa w/four grains of meat. And the arroz con gandules barely had color. Come on now, y’all. That’s embarrassing that food trucks are better than actual Puerto Rican restaurants. ay ғo!
Great food this is my new little paradise since the food is like going back to PR with out traveling to PR. And Staff super friendly!
Awesome authentic Puerto Rica food. Most tender carne frita (fried pork) ever! Biggest relleno de papa (meat stuffed deep fried potato ball) ever!!!! Attended by the owner herself!!!
Great service, the owner is super sweet, and of course delicious food! My favorite is the Jibarito, but everything we’ve had here is awesome!
