I had the burger which comes with fries. The burger was fresh and cooked just right. The toppings were fresh. I did ask for ketchup, but it wasn't on or with my meal, not a big deal as I had some at home.
The fries were excellent. Fresh cut potatoes, and whatever amazing oil they fried them was too notch!
The only thing this burger and fries could have used was a coleslaw. I guess that is an extra item not included.
The person behind the bar was friendly.
It's a typical bar and grill atmosphere inside. The only negative may have been the gambling machines, probably should be hidden in the back.
I would return again.
Bicycling: It's right on Northwest Highway which has a bike lane. It's also off a side street which is also conformable for riding. There seems to be places to lock up the bikes. They also have outside dining, which is a plus.

Visiting from MA but previously lived in Chicago (20+ years). We had never been here but discovered a gem of a place for a late lunch and escape from the kids - ha!. Great location, atmosphere, food and service!

Great service. Excellent Bloody Marys that are a meal by themselves. Good soup and sandwiches.
If you get there for brunch try the coffee cake.

This place gives me at-home, content-and-happy vibes. Food is all home made and prepared, services is consistently stellar with personable and friendly staff, and the outdoor dining area has great coverage from the sun. My wife and I have been here twice so far, once for lunch and once for breakfast, and both menus are great. Absolutely recommend.

The food is great scratch kitchen cooking. The bar is one of those awesome old Chicago bars, and the outdoor patio is lovely on a nice day. My Dad has been a regular for years. When he could no longer drive, he didn't stop in for a few weeks for his usual chili and a beer. The owner and staff noticed his absence and called his house to make sure he was OK. Where else will you ever go that would do that? These people are the real deal. It's just a good solid place. We love them!

Quickly becoming one of our favorite places. Great food, outdoor patio seating. Emily is the best. Owner is friendly and down to earth. Cannot pick a favorite food item...Sliders were awesome, salads, cheese curds, and seriously, the Homemade Coffee cake was phenomenal. Highly recommend Highway House

Food was great! Really wonderful outdoor patio. We went for their brunch and it was super reasonable for the quality. I'm also a fan when a restaurant provides an entire basket of hot sauces to choose from for your eggs!! I'm here for it.

Nice place with a secluded outdoor cafe. I had the chicken wrap and it was delicious. Good service, very reasonable prices. One of our go to neighborhood places. Worth the drive if you do not live close. Try the Highway House, sure to return.

My in-laws come here regularly and always rave about the food and service, so last night we were finally able to meet them for dinner and it was fabulous! I had a slider and order of chicken wings. The wings were hands down some of the best wings I've ever had in my life. My husband equally enjoyed his burger. We will definitely be back!
