Ordered takeout from Mr Brown's and was treated to some truly fantastic food. The jerk chicken was tangy spicy delicious. It came with a cabbage+veggie side and a very good rice and peas mixture. The only thing average in my order were the plantains, which were somewhat plain and dry. Overall the quality of the jerk chicken really made the dinner.
Mr. Brown's Lounge has a history of bad service. On this day, service was at it's ultimate worst. The first thing the waiter told us that if we wanted wings it would be at least 25-40 minutes and the half chicken would be an hour and a half. This was at noon! Then I saw the table sign with descriptions of their new menu item...tacos! I was excited to try them. I was served these sad looking tacos. I asked the waiter while I directed his attention to the table sign that indicated the tacos come with pico de Gallo. He started arguing with me and in a nasty tone said that he would bring me something else. I only have a limited amount of time for lunch, so I declined his offer. I won't be going back. It's too bad since their wings are delicious, if you can wait an hour to be served. NOTE!!! We went back to Mr. Brown's today and delighted with the food and service. The pictures below show how the tacos should be like, and they were delicious!
I got a taste for Caribbean food while visiting Haiti and am always looking for authentic flavor.
That being said the patty and the goat were amazing. The goat, as expected, had a lot of bone to eat around but it is totally worth it. My wife had the flank steak and immediately said this is somewhere she looks forward to coming every trip.
Authentic Jamaican cusinie the jerk wing were seasoned to perfection the mac and cheese had the perfect blend of cheeses and flavor and it didn't hurt to have a mule with it. Everything was wonderful and is definitely a hidden gem right of Michigan avenue

Great vibe/tunes. Made the trek because the website mentioned a weeknight burger deal. Bartender said no food specials! Sad, so I got the happy hour food specials. A curious experience but wings were great. Cheese fries were also good.

I’m staying around the corner on business and found this gem in my search for a happy hour and some nibbles. I had a faaaabulous experience here! After living in the Caribbean I have high expectations for my island cuisine. Mr Brown’s definitely delivered. I had a legit rum punch with a true “Caribbean pour” (ok maybe more than one) and the jerk chicken dinner including peas and rice, cabbage, and plantain. It was delicious, authentic, and exactly what I hoped it would be. The service was excellent; friendly and fun and attentive. I told the owner if he wants to open a location out in Seattle where I live to please do so. :) Definitely stop in here. Oh, and their beef patty is spot on. Thanks for taking me back to my beloved BVI, Mr Brown’s!
The oxtails rice beans and cabbage was very good.. The atmosphere was great and we loved the band!!! Will dine again... Pina cola drink was perfect!!!
Gr8 food, gr8 prices, amazing service and cute decor. I will miss this place! I wish I had one near me.
Real smooth atmosphere. Nice, stylish & great service. Good food & drink Menu definitely a spot for live music on Friday nights & happy hour throughout the week.
This place is good, I wouldn't go so far as to call it traditional Jamaican food but tasty nevertheless.
