We dined here after getting a recommendation from an employee working at the Embassy Suites. We drove from downtown Chicago to experience the Serbian cuisine. 016 did not disappoint!! We each had something different from the menu: Ground Beef Burek (meat pie-my favorite), Chicken Schnitzel (Karadjordjeva), Chicken Soup, Charcuterie, Cheese and Spinach Burek, and a Sausage Sandwich. SUPERB! We also ordered dessert, the custard chocolate cake was wonderful, and the baklava was not too sickly sweet. The entire experience was wonderful including the excellent wait staff and vibe. We can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy the outside patio when we visit the Chicago area again!

Great food and service. The sandwich was huge enough to feed two people! It was a little bit too salty but I guess because it was loaded with meat!

We found this place by mistake because we couldn't find the Japanese place we were looking for. I didn't know much about Serbian food, but my girlfriend was pretty familiar. When you first walk in, it looks like what I imagine the soup place in Seinfeld resembled, so I figured it had to be good. There were a couple freshly baked loaves and pastries behind the glass cases and there was a baker standing in front. We asked some questions about the menu and were very surprised when he told us we could have a seat. To our surprise, as you walk past the sandwich pick up area, the place opened up into an amazing indoor dining area and an outdoor patio. We chose to eat on the patio. The waitress came to get us. She was extremely helpful with her suggestions and recommendations and each one was perfect. We chose from their specialty cocktails, perfect for the warmer weather. And then I ordered the muffaletta, and she had the burek. Everything was absolutely delicious. The drinks were refreshing and flavorful. The muffaletta was packed full of meat, cheese and flavors and the burek had the best crust and filling I had ever tasted. This was a spectacular introduction to the world of Serbian food. But the only problem is that they may have set the standard too high. This was another top ten eating experience. If you're in Chicago and want more flavors than your face can deal with, head to 016 Sandwich Shop. Be sure to come hungry!!!

Wow! It was SO good. This was my first experience with Serbian food and I was a bit nervous. I'm used to eating American, Asian, and Latin food. Catch my feel? But....everything we ordered was so good! The meat was soft and almost brisket like, the polenta was flavorful. The cabbage roll was surprisingly good!! The burek was to die for (try both!). The restaurant is very clean and has quiet music playing. I will return without a doubt.

Ten out of ten experience. The food was a fabulous taste explosion. Believe it or not we got the Hombre and Bologna sandwiches. Unbelievable. If you’re a foodie, you must try this amazing Serbian restaurant. <3

We have been to 016 a few times and staff are attentive and friendly. Fellow diners liked the smoked chicken and the burek was tasty. My chicken and ham dish was not to my liking. Fun place.

Incredible experience. Beautiful atmosphere with the outdoor patio and some of the most gracious servers. I’m not Serbian but absolutely loved the food at this location. Everything was impeccable and loaded with flavor. We tried the burrata salad (fresh organic tomatoes and smoked beef), veal soup (taste like grandma made it with all the love in the world), roast chicken dish, and and the Braised veal (with potatoes and carrots). Everything had us licking our fingers. I can’t wait to be back to try other dishes. They have my full trust when it comes to their menu. I’m so glad my husband and I stumbled upon this place. We will for sure be back. 10 out of 10 experience. ❤️
