The food is fantastic, I recommend the Roberto roll and the tempura dinner. They give out generous portions. Chef Roberto is awesome and I must say I found a new home for my Japanese food.

Midori, the sushi restaurant on the north side of Chicago, is a hidden gem. Their sushi rolls are outstanding, and I must say, their tofu dish is a must-try. But what truly sets Midori apart is their excellent service. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot is a sushi lover's dream come true. Don't miss out on Roberto's special maki; they're a flavor explosion!

Absolutely the best! Chef Robert is a master of his craft, having trained under the guidance of the Japanese chefs at the former Hotel Niko in Chicago. The fish is impeccably fresh. All the flavors are balanced. The owner is a very gracious and generous hostess. Seeing the waitress bustle about the Takumi rooms in the matching Kimonos sets a very traditional mood.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in all of chicago. My parents and I have been ordering takeout from here since I was little. I decided to dine in today and they took us even though it was 10 mins to closing. The agedashi tofu is my go to appetizer. It’s by far the best I’ve ever had. We also ordered the pacific and Roberto special. My boyfriend was blown away by the flavors and gave it a 10/10. We lastly ordered the beef suyiyaki — we were so full but finished everything because it was that good. The service is so great on top of the food. The ambiance is so warm and inviting. This place is such a hidden gem, I love it and want to tell everyone about it! Chef Roberto is amazing.

We ordered takeout for 4 and it was great! I felt like the prices were more fair than some other places I've been recently. The food was all delicious! The tempura was crispy and perfect and everyone loved it. I had some beef, and it was expertly marinated and tasted delicious. I would like to dine here because the restaurant looks fun and authentic.

Came here for a birthday party, reserved our own room! Private room was decorated with traditional decor and screens. Sat on the floor but had a hole underneath the table to dangle your feet so it was still very comfortable. Food was amazing! Veggies, salad, and soup for everyone included. Sushi was incredible, very fresh and plated well. Lots of japanese dishes and drink options. However, service was very slow and we were waiting almost 45 mins for the check after we finished eating. Would love to come back for the ambience and sushi!

They treat me like family when i come here, very hospitable. The freshest sushi in Chicago. Chef Robert has been there for many years and he is an absolute master at making sushi. Their chicken teriyaki dinner is just the best I have ever had. So flavorful and really juicy. The miso soup is not too fishy like every other place you go to, which I really like. The salad is delicious. Everything is just so good here !

North side institution for many years, Chef Roberto’s place has produced consistently solid dishes. While many would go for sushi or maki, their entrees are also quite good. Offering sake, beer as well as margaritas is a nice added bonus.

I had an incredible meal here for Father's day with my family. The chicken donburi was so comforting. Great miso and teriyaki. Definitely check out one of the private tatami tables for a super cool experience.

In a lesser-known part of Chicago, 15min Northwest of downtown, and about 15 minutes from O'Hare airport, Midori is worth the short drive. Roberto, the sushi Chef is not only talented at making food (with his exceptional home made sauce that tantalizes all your senses). The food looks too good to eat. But once you try the Roberto Special, you'll be hooked. Sweet, creamy, slightly spicy absolutely perfect topping to most sushi rolls. Sit in a table setting overlooking the sushi bar, and watch Roberto in action. Or sit at the bar and let him amaze you with his delightful dishes, amazing fresh cuts, while entertaining you with his up beat, positive and great personality. At first glance, your transported to Japan, with waitress in Kimonos, serving hot tea, or drinks of your choice. Come with friends and family, and truly transport to a Japanese style dinner. In your own traditional Japanese style paper walled private room, sit at a low table, close the shutters and have a memorable, private evening you'll remember for years to come.

Phenomenal!! Roberto’s roll is a must have. The salmon hand roll is a great one as well. Great atmosphere and very great fish. Will definitely be back.
