The Press Room - Chicago - Photo album

Small intimate basement cocktail bar just off the main West Loop bar path. We came for the first time and really liked their cocktails, they have a limited menu but this is more of a before or after dinner bar. We did have their crab dip which was really good and had huge chicken of crab. Service
Perfect place to get good cocktails and some small plates in a very intimate atmosphere. I highly recommend getting oysters and a charcuterie board that goes perfect with their amazing cocktails. I got the Gin & Tonic, which was fantastic!
This is more like a speakeasy than a place for dinner, but the meatball sandwiches were actually very good. So if you go for dinner, there may not be enough, but if you come for a cocktail and small bites, you’ll be very pleased.
Press room had an excellent happy hour with great drinks and oysters. Will definitely be going back. It is a dark bar with great servers and a fun atmosphere.
My husband had my 30th surprise birthday here and it was INCREDIBLE. We had a private room with a super cool atmosphere and the staff, food, and cocktails were insane! So good! The amount of food you get for your dollar is really good! 12/10 recommend!
The bar downstairs had a great vibe. Me and a few friends ended up eating outside on the patio. The food was ok. Carrots were tasty but a few of them were a bit too charred and I couldn’t eat them. The Brussels sprouts were good but had a little too much sauce. The charcuterie board wasn’t bad. The
Great place with a small menu that's accessible ☺️ They served me a Sazerac in a chilled glass, and it was delicious!
I ended up posting up at the bar for much longer than I originally anticipated but had a fantastic time. Started with happy hour oysters and a cocktail and migrated to this leviathan charcuterie board and paired glasses of wine. The Press Room has definitely evolved from my first visit, when it had
This place has it all. Food, service, speciality cocktails, and PLEASE do not get me started on the music playlists. The music is incredible and sets an environment that makes the food and drinks taste better than they are (and boy are they already great). This is one of the unique gems in Chicago.
Love it here, great neighborhood bar. Stopped in with my girlfriend for a glass of wine and the German chocolate dessert, really enjoyed both. The staff is very attentive and sweet. Loved the ambiance, dimly lit tasty done. Will definitely return.
Quite intimate, low key place in the basement but totally totally amazing! Killer drinks, our fav were: lions tale, old fashioned. Must must try! Also the brussel sprouts and kale salad is another level. Aother thing is they have limited menu and they are good at it. You wont find any french fries t
Good choice for happy hour. Lively chatter
Good food. We had a mix of meat and cheese for 38 bucks. It was totally worthy instead of getting it individual, which it 8 buck for each. So it’s 6 item for the plate. 6*8 = 48, but, if you get la grand Board it’s only 38. Really deal. As far as cocktails goes, they have good drinks. The old fash
The Press Room has amazing food and drinks! Loved the romantic vibe it created too. We had happy hour oysters followed by their charcuterie board and scallops. Not only were the meats and cheeses delicious, but their sourdough bread is to die for!
I really liked this place. We started with some of the happy hour options: the charcuterie and cheese selection had good size portions enough for 2 (the 24 month old cheddar was outstanding) and I had a Sangiovese (that I had to try something lighter to start). For entree I had the duck and it was S
Cute little hidden place!!! Very cozy. Scallops were almost perfect but it was still a tad overcooked. Cauliflower was a bit too acidic. Broccolini were great, especially with the raisin and crunch. Really attentive staffs too.
One could easily write multiple paragraphs singing the praises of this place and the wizardy that is Christian and his work.... Or I could save you the time so you can get here quicker and experience the magic first hand.
Dark, romantic, simple, and luxuriant. The crab dip was fantastic, the drinks were great, and the music of the night was early 2000s hiphop/rap. I will make sure to come back
Cool place, very good vibes - dishes were kind of unique (squash and scallops, tahini brownie) brownie was a little burnt though - I’d give it another try, wasn’t blown away but neat spot Ordered: -grilled octopus, really good -sunchokes, okay but we’re also in grilled octopus so overkill -scallops
