Excellent spot to listen to music & the food was top notch. Any place with their own garden moves up my list quickly.
Uncommon Ground is an outstanding farm-to-table restaurant that has the friendliness of a neighborhood joint. We were so excited when it opened 4 blocks from us several years ago, and it has consistently exceeded our expectations. The food and cocktails are inventive and delicious, the servers are warm and funny and the diversity of the clientele reflects the greatest strength of the Edgewater and Rogers Park neighborhoods. A true neighborhood treasure that offers destination dining.
Great food, service, atmosphere and music!!! Highly recommend this place!!
Great atmosphere and food! I had the fish tacos ..
They were awesome! I highly recommend them!
I was there for the Jeni B act. It was a great time. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped meatloaf.
My band and I had a great time at Uncommon Ground. Ashley the talent buyer, Scott the manager, and Ian the sound engineer were all very friendly and hospitable. Sound in the room was great and the stage monitors were plenty loud to accommodate our band
Great service, great food! It was my first visit but won't be my last! Love that this gem is in my Edgewater neighborhood.
Always great food - wonderful atmosphere- terrific staff! Always visit when we come to town! Calamari is soooo good
Delicious! Great staff, super sound guy Ian, great beer selection.
We had a great crowd and were well taken care of by the wait staff and the sound man. Looking forward to our next engagement in this great listening room. - Last Ditch Effort (opened for Continuum)
The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The homemade sausage patties were delicious and the service was great. I also enjoyed the mimosas.
Great food, atmosphere and staff.
Also totally love all different the bands they book.
Had a really nice evening at Uncommon Ground! There is definitely an upscale / hipster vibe, but it's still casual. They have an impressive drink selection, and the food was terrific! I was especially impressed by the gnocchi, and would definitely recommend it. I will be coming back! Just FYI it is a little expensive compared to most restaurants in the immediate area.
This is such an enjoyable place to have brunch in a garden and listen to Frank Sinatra. They make a really great lemon pepper aioli here. If you're looking for farm fresh to table, then this place is it.
Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. We had aesthetics and gourmet pleasure. The service was good as well. I definitely recommend to check out this place during summer.
First of all, we were there on a beautiful day so sitting outside with all the gorgeous plants was a treat. The meal was great! We did brunch and I loved that they used their freshly grown veggies in the meal. Our server was was so sweet and helpful. This place will definitely become one of go to favorites.
My husband and I came to uncommon ground for the first time to see a friend play at one of their Thursday night shows. Upon entry there appeared to be no one in the entire restaurant (customers or employees). Though we did see a bunch of people sitting outside on the patio. We were greeted after a few minutes and directed to go sit in the back room where the stage was. The atmosphere of the restaurant is laid back and casual. All the employees were very nice, but they seemed to be understaffed. It took us about 20 minutes to get one flight of beer which was delicious. My favorite was the BC Kolsch made with black currants. It took us about another 20 minutes to get another glass of beer. We still had not received our food yet but after the waiter checked on it we received it quickly and it was still hot but it did take about an hour to get our order of the Beyond Burger and vegan Cesar side salad. They did apologize, like I said it seemed like they were understaffed.
The music was great! It was a really fun time and worth the $10 ticket. The lettuce is grown right there on the roof and you could tell! It was so fresh and delicious. The burger and fries were satisfying also. I would enjoy coming here again to sit on the patio outside on a nice day.
Nice location. Has its own parking lot. Nice seating inside and outside. No rooftop seating as that is where the vegetables grow. Menu is decent. I found it to be about 4 stars. Decent quality. Some food items were great while others were ok.
Enjoyed a bloody Mary and app/soup at the bar. Bartender was great, and makes an amazing bloody with pickle juice added. So good! Sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly, served with a goat cheese dip that I will probably dream about. The blended celeriac and coconut milk soup was an unexpected flavor, but delicious nonetheless. We will definitely come back and visit during the summer!
The staff, quality of food, atmosphere, and neighborhood make this restaurant worth a visit. With a focus on service and fresh ingredients, you will not be disappointed.
The food and drinks were very good but the live music was the thing that earned the place 5 stars. We had a blues artist called Casey Lee playing the night we had dinner their. They are taking very good precautions for covid-19. I would highly recommend especially for vegans and vegetarians
Nice outdoor space. My boyfriend said the meatloaf was the best he's ever had. The rice noodle salad was a disappointment for the price ($15). Lots of noodles and peanuts, but just 5 thin slices of cucumber and 5 slices of radish; I was expecting more from the description. When we said as much to the server, she said she'd give our feedback to the kitchen; no offer to bring any more. It had good flavor so if you're interested in a bowl of noodles, it'd be a good option.
Great restaurant altogether. Service was fast and waiter had good recommendations. Good gluten free beer and cocktails too. Perfect date spot
Such a great place! I loved the atmosphere and our sever was very friendly.
Food was good. Very vegetarian friendly. Fairly prompt service despite a busy time of day. The garden/patio has a nice ambience and a play area for children. Would highly recommend as a family dinner spot if you have kids under 10, and/or a mix of vegetarian and omnivores in your group.
