Stumbled across this cozy place, walking around River North with a friend. The staff was friendly and helpful. Smooth and creamy hot chocolate. Great sit-down place for some great convo, and definitely will try the pastry and dessert next time.
Their hot dark chocolate is truly exceptional, with a rich flavor that isn't overly sweet. The shop is adorned with Christmas decorations in December and has a very cozy ambience with plenty of seatings available.
The chocolate is expensive but delicious. They had lots of varieties to try from and taste the difference in cocoa beans. Also, wonderful treats were available. We went back a second time to get more for gifts!
Here’s what you need to know: wow! Just wow! Chocolate heaven, with super high quality beverages and desserts. This is serious chocolate crafting. Yes, it’s expensive but an indulgent treat. Hot chocolate (dark) may be the best in the city. I tried the mocha too with 2 espresso shots and that was enjoyable but the hot chocolate was better.
Service was nice and friendly, but nothing memorable.
Ambiance is SO CHARMING. Limited seating but it wasn’t super crowded on St Patty green River day.
Overall, even though it was $45 for 3 persons for hot chocolate and a couple small desserts (macarons and pastry) it was a “worth it” indulgence.
Nice place to have a coffee and try new pastries, they are really delicious, and also you can find gluten-free options.

Wonderful hidden gem with amazing desserts. Great spot to bring your date and enjoy fantastic french sweets.

Recommend: their signature hot chocolate was good, the place is really nice inside, the service was good, the lemon cake was was as good as it looked unfortunately - would skip on it.
The hot chocolate was good but it is a bit pricey for 1 small cup, a few other places around Chicago make as good or even better double amount for similar price, but then again this is basically downtown of the city. If in the area and want great hot chocolate it will be hard to beat this place, but I would not make a special trip or go out of my way to come here, especially with other places north west.
Get drunk on all things chocolate here!! Reminded me of my day’s at the Harvard Square location but this location is more chill, bright and with a cafe style ambiance. Great customer service. Definitely try more than 1 cake at a time. With the reasonable price for each slice, try a variety of different cakes for an exquisite experience.
I'm sold. Walked by this place on my way to another destination and turned around to get a coffee. So glad I did! The staff was exceptional, the Latte and Engadiner Nusstorte were delicious! Got a Lintzer Torte for later. Evidently they are renowned for their chocolate. Have to save that for another trip. Thanks again to a phenomenal staff and manager for making my visit so great!
Hidden gem on State street. Felt like I was transported to a coffee shop in Paris. The interior is adorable. I would recommend getting your coffee and sweets to dine in for the full experience. Try to sit by the windows in the back. Very kind staff. Delicious caramel latte and the best is the raspberry chocolate cookie.
