Stopped in quick for a slice of Tiramisu. BEST tasting piece I’ve had in years!!!! For only $4 you cannot beat this. Wish I had more time in Chicago to come back and try more from this shop. Outstanding!

Amazing sandwiches and Italian cookies and the gelato!!! just look at it melting in the glass. that means it is LEGIT and not all puffed up with air like some places make it. I’ve gone the past 3 days in a row because I recently came back from a trip to Italy and I’m not over it. SO HAPPY to have found this slice of Italia in Chicago ❤️

I love this place. Best Italian sandwiches and coffee in Chicago

A wonderful little deli that serves amazing sandwiches and has great coffee. They slice all their own deli meat so you know it's fresh, my favorite sandwich is the italiano. The staff is always friendly. There are lots of individual tables inside and in the warmer months there is an outdoor seating section that is fenced off. The baked goods are delicious but not baked on sight. They are closed on Sunday so plan accordingly.

The sandwich wasn’t as good as I thought :/
Maybe I should’ve tried the panini

Was walking by when I noticed the place and immediately had to go in! The paninis were spectacular, the grocery selection was great, and the atmosphere is all you need for a cloudy day.

This ia a great Italian deli and grocery store. It has a wide variety of items and makes great use of its limited dimensions. The food counter in the back has wonderful sandwiches and other Italian dishes. Recommend for people visiting the area.

Very good place for quick coffee and some pastries or Italian sandwiches. I enjoy the price and quality for the place in downtown. Thank you

Great sandwiches, authentic Italian products, good coffee and bakery items (especially cookies), and the people who work here are fantastic. Really friendly and professional, which a lot of other comparable places don't have. Great vibe and pleasant to shop and eat at.

I first went to L'Appetito in 2005 and it has been One of my favorite on the go lunch spots since. Everytime im in the Gold Coast Area I know L'Appetito is near by. So many great options but I love the Turkey Havarti Panini. No lettuce or tomatoes just meat cheese in pressed bread yum!. The tomatoes and lettuce give it more of a toasted sub feel, not a warm crust panini that I want. They have cheeses , gelato, espresso and petite sweets and a whole fridge filled with pre packaged pasta! Such an awesome shop, ENJOY!

We had a couple of the best sandwiches we’ve ever had in our life here, as well as some really tasty gelato. Don’t miss out on the pistachio gelato or the Luino panini!

Nice Deli in one of the quieter side roads tontow Chicago. I had an Itliano sandwich, and I enjoyed it a lot, and it was so big that I had to eat twice to finish.

Love this place, great sandwich. Love the Italiano. They can definitely get busy at lunchtime, know what you want, and be ready when it's your turn. Don't be that person who holds up the line.

I love this place: the cookies, sandwiches, coffee, etc. are delicious! However, beware, the deli counter folks are a mess ... disorganized, rude, short tempered. Just pretend like you're in NYC and you might be able to endure agony.

I've been coming to this place for wow 20 years. I just get the same thing a Svizzera panini, my mom loves coming here because she enjoys the same panini that I eat she gets the same one. We usually share a pasta plate, whatever pasta they have of the day, usually they have bow tie pasta. This time around, they had shell pasta which of course was amazing.

The sandwiches were wonderful and tasted like real Italian sandwiches. I got the light caprese sandwich and the mozzarella tomato was sliced thin. The oregano was the perfect amount that made the sandwich taste delicious. Don't get me started on the tiramisù and napoleon they were so good. The napoleon was not chewy and tasted fresh like it should be. The tiramisù was full of coffee and the cream tasted amazing. Overall, I loved the food and would recommend it to anyone.

I'm a new fan. First, everyone's nice here. Genuinely. The deli is outstanding and they know what they're doing. Quick sandwiches or pasta made and served with a smile. They coffee is lava azza, which I prefer over star$. They aren't fast, but it's worth it, barrista is great. L'Appetito always sells little items like chips, biscotti, dry pasta, and more. They have a bakery at the counter where they bring in fresh Italian bakery goods. How could you not love this place?! There's seating, too.

Best deli sandwich in Chicago. Always get hot peppers, always get it toasted, and you'll never have a better sandwich in the city. Favorite spot!
