this place is AMAZING! we got the Pitas and I asked for chicken kabob in mine and it was amazing. Their falafel is the best I’ve ever tried. The workers were so kind too, they made the experience even better. Definitely a fun choice in wicker park :)
Delicious food. Had the Steak Shawarma and the chicken shawarma plate. Very clean feel to the food. Didn't take any pictures before we ate, but here's what's left. Definitely recommend!
Delicious. Very flavorful. Feta is my favorite, big creamy chunky feta. The meat is ridiculously tasty. The kefta is my favorite. The rice is very good, it's not hard at all. Falafel.. mm and their hot sauce is soo good. You can't go wrong with anything you order from here. The folks who work here are also very nice and a pleasure to see them. The decor is also elevated from the average counter serve Mediterranean place. Cant praise it enough here. Even the kefta salad is top notch. Little pricey but surely worth it for the flavor and portion size.
Delicious food, if a little pricey for counter service. The soda machine wasn't working the day we were there and they didn't have a big variety in the soda fridge. The falafel was fresh, crisp and flavorful. Hummus was tasty, as were the salads. The desserts were crisp and fresh and not dripping in honey.
I had the chicken shawarma wrap. I should have taken a picture of it because it was as pretty as it tasted. Just amazing and hit the spot. The hot sauce, which is served on the side, also amazing. Service was very nice as well.
That’s some good shawarma! Beef, pickles, onion, lettuce, sauce…all great together in a nicely toasted wrap, and I don’t even like pickles most of the time!
Rumi is our go to spot for middle eastern food. The chicken shawarma plate, gyro plate and falafel are packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. The staff is kind and takeout orders are always correct and packaged tightly.
Staff was polite. I ordered in store and was out within a few minutes. My wrap was also portioned well I had steak in every bite.
I don't usually find myself this far up North on Milwaukee, though as the Blue O'Hare bound currently isn't stopping at my normal stop, I have been walking by Rumi on my way home, and I finally decided to give it a try.
The staff is very friendly, and helpful, I decided on the "All-in Platter" Plate to get a feel of the diversity of items on their menu. This seems to consist of Gyro Meat, Chicken Swarma, what I believe may have been Lamb Kabob, Falafel, Basmati Rice, half of a pita and some sort of Mint Salad. (please note order yourself an extra full pita if you like to eat pita with this type of food the price for one is pretty cheap :P)
I found the meats of the plate tasty, and left a pleasent long lasting spicy flavor on my palate that I have not experience quite a while. That I would consider mildly spicy. The only thing that I didn't really care for was the mint, just not a big fan of mint in general, so I can't really attest to how good the salad was. The pitas are excellent, get yourself an extra one.
The menu is 100% Zabinhah Halal according to their website. I would say definately go if you want a different take on this region's type of food.
The food is tasty as always, but I do want to add how great the service was. The cashier was super pleasant and went oit of his way to do small things that made my dine in that day even better than usual. Thank you!
