From beginning to end this was by far one of the best dining experiences that I have had in the Chi. Brussel sprout appetizer, Sunny side burger with fries, great music and atmosphere. We were enlighted by our awesome, super attentive, knowledgeable server, Jarquez. This will definitely be a staple, a mainstay, and a regular stop for my family and me when we are in Chicago! Job well done!

I've been here several times and every menu item I've tried so far has been great. I usually get their beef burgers, but I tried their ahi tuna one last night and it was fantastic. I also enjoy their sides, namely the truffle fries and the cheese stuffed tater tots.

So glad we found Umami when we had 4 adults tired from a trip to the museum of science & Industry & four Very Hungry teen-aged boys. All our choices were delicious ( including the maple bacon old fashion).

The burgers and sides are insane! Love it! We had the Sunny Side and the Royale, with sides of Umami Wings, sweet potato fries, and more. Love the selection of drinks too. I will be coming back!

At first glance, the place was pretty dead and I was worried but all of the food ended up being delicious. We had the cheesy tater tots, fries, chicken sandwich, burgers and impossible burger. Everything was so tasty. All of the sauces complimented their food as well. Especially the jalepeno ranch.

Pretty good! But I think the fried pickles were too salty. The classic sauce is like a spicy mayo. Bacon burger didn’t have enough bacon. The double cheeseburger was alright. Near the end, it’s just hard to keep all the ingredients together.

The impossible burger was AMAZING the first time I had it. Seriously it was the best burger I had ever had in my life. I went right back though three days later for it and it was a little dryer and less exciting. HOWEVER: the ambiance and decor it awesome. They have live music in Saturdays. The servers were actually friendly! And they have a full bar. I’m not a fan of the umami ketchup but I am a fan of them bringing it to you and explaining the different tastes. So worth it for the experience and really unique flavors.

This was an interesting upscale burger place. Everything from the decor to the menu. Their burgers are anything but normal but are very good. Everything is served is smaller portions than normal. Only downside for me was the fries . They were super thin. Don't let this stop you from trying this place out though. The staff was nice, food arrived quickly , and place was very clean.

The burgers are definitely worth the hype! The server correctly recommended medium rare for my Manly burger, one of the best I've had in Chicago. Additionally, I usually don't like thin fries, but these were great, mealy and crispy with four kinds of sauce (one of them was quite spicy). The only con: my Sprite was watery.

Got wings and the fried chicken sandwich. It's a decent sandwich with muted flavors and well cooked chicken. Can't say that the flavors pop-up but would've like it to be a little more intense, savoury or spicy. Place and service is nice and the atmosphere is lively during the weekends.

Love the vibe and decor. Food is usually good. Had the truffle impossible burger today... pretty good!!! Cheddar tots could use more oozing cheese. Love the variety in drink options.

Server was nice , and really informative! There impossible burgers are prolly the only thing I’ve gotten from there, and it’s a hit every-time . Drinks aren’t the cheapest but the not the most expensive either , but a solid quiet chill spot in deed!

Second visit to this great little burger joint in the west loop. It is in a great neighbor hood and shares the great atmosphere. The food is well priced and you definitely get more than what you pay for. We will be back soon for sure, and will always recommend to our friends.

Their burgers are delicious. Small venue but not overcrowded like other restaurants in the area. Shorthanded on wait staff but they hustle to take care of you.

Elevated burger to the next level. Totally recommend trying their burgers and wings. I've tried the Japanese wings, sweet and tangy with a touch of spice, specially appreciate the candied orange peel and slices of chili on top, perfect combination. The burger I choose was the Royale which has pulled beef short ribs and truffles. The burger cooked to perfection in my taste, medium rare which brought all the beef flavours together in a harmonious way. Totally worth the try.

Impossible burger was a really good vegetarian option. Fries were thin and crispy. A little pricey when compared to other work lunch places

The Impossible Burger was impossibly good, and probably the best burger I’ve ever had in my entire life. Their sauces, especially the Umami Ketchup, were delicious. The spicy was pretty spicy though, so watch out. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed and cool. A touch expensive, by definitely worth it just for the burger.

We were happy with our Umami burger experience. We ordered two impossible burgers and fries. I ordered the BBQ impossible burger with slaw and jalepenos and my husband ordered the truffle burger. We were very satisfied with the construction of the burgers and the crispiness of the patties. The truffle burger was not overwhelming in flavor (as truffle can easily be) but the flavor was certainly present. We appreciated the Boston lettuce used in the burger also. Both burgers seemed to have the same spicy green salsa on the bottom which definitely upped the flavor profiles. The BBQ burger felt less streamlined in flavor than the truffle burger. It had all the components of a good burger but ended up with a muddled flavor. The mustard sauce overwhelmed the flavor of the BBQ sauce which was disappointing. I think we would both order the truffle burger on a return visit. We certainly appreciate the effort of varying the flavors from the "classic" burger as is so frequently seen with the impossible patty. Now on to the fries. Delicious!!! Perfectly crispy and thin. We ordered one "full" order to split. Perfect portions for the two of us. We were served what seemed to be mayo on the side which seems to be a lack of an eye for detail on the waitresses part. Why waste mayo on a table of announced vegans? The service was otherwise good and prompt after the initial wait for our server. We will be back.

My husband and I got the impossible burger. It is the most realistic vegetarian burger I have ever had. Everything was delicious, we also got the pickled platter as an appetizer. I recommend both! This place is also good for meat eaters. The burger options are extensive. I recommend this for vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Delicious veggie friendly options (classic impossible burger pictured) with a good value happy hour during the weekdays. Service can be slow but the food is good.
