I LOVE that they let you substitute a veggie chicken patty at no extra charge. You can order any biscuit sandwich with the Veggie chicken patty and it's so good, it seems house made as well because it doesn't have that frozen Veggie patty look or taste to it. The chocolate chip bread pudding is a great dessert option if you're still hungry after all the good food!

This place was excellent. Walked in and was immediately seated. Ordered a chicken sandwich with chocolate chip bread pudding and fries. The sandwich was Nashville Hot Chicken Carolina Style (jalapeño pimento cheese and hot honey) on a biscuit. It was amazing. Great fries and bread pudding to go with it. I also ordered a beer. The beer and food all came to the table in less than 5 minutes. The hot honey on the chicken sandwich was amazing and the hot honey that spilled off the sandwich and onto the fries was also great. Loved this meal. Also liked that the restaurant was family friendly and had a little play area for kids. Great place. Can’t wait to go back and try the boozy shakes.

My first visit and it did not disappoint. Ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was hot but not too hot. The chicken was tender and it comes with two sides. I got Mac and cheese which was very creamy and good. You can get the sandwich on a bun or a biscuit I chose to get it on a bun cuz I felt it would hold up better. But I got a biscuit as one of my two sides. The biscuit was outstanding very soft tender and excellent. You can tell that they are homemade and have real butter in them. Really enjoyed the meal it was nice to sit down in the restaurant and be served. Our server was outstanding and he was very friendly. I look forward to returning and on the recommendation of the server I might try the extra hot next time. You also could get a sauce on your sandwich which I got the hot honey and that was very enjoyable and also had the sandwich topped with coleslaw which cuts down on the heat of the national hot and was enjoyable. When in the area try this location or there are other location closer into the city but I do highly recommend their sandwich and sides.
Just visited again and it was still excellent. Love the biscuits and the sandwich is great and good fries too.

Had been meaning to try this place for a while. Forgot to get a biscuit, but the chicken and fries were good. Really good lemonade too. The service left a bit to be desired though. Prices aren't horrible either

First visit here and it was fantastic! Had a Carolina Style chicken sandwich on a biscuit and it was incredibly tasty. Got y
The Carolina Hot heat level which was great but I'll go level 4 next time. That said, love really spicy hot food. Great fries as a side, and they give you a ton of them! Will definitely be back.

Good neighborhood spot. I wanted more flavor in the fried chicken sadly, everything else was great!

Sinfully good! Have NEVER had a bad experience here. All of the chicken sandwiches are FIRE. I'm partial to the Carolina style because who doesn't love pimento and hot honey? All the sides are also bomb, makes it hard to pick a favorite, but also keeps you rotating your selections. Simple menu, food is made with love, and service is always surprisingly fast and friendly. Also, no need to be afraid of the plant based chicken sandwich, it can really compete with the other options on the menu and is a favorite of my vegetarian partner in Roscoe Village. Wish it was less calories so I could justify coming here more often!

This place turns out some of the freshest fried chicken this part of town. The menu is limited, but that's good because what they do, they do really well. The Nashville hot is a great saucy number, especially as a breakfast sandwich (c'mon, eggs, bacon and cheese...why not?). The mac and cheese is creamy goodness that blends just the right balance of real and processed cheese (this is a good thing, the way it's done in the south). I'm also a big fan of the peach cobbler. The wait is way shorter at their new(ish) Roscoe location, but you can also order ahead online or by phone so it's fresh when you arrive. Their location is really nice to just sit down and relax, with big windows at the front and a kids games area at the back. During the warmer months they also have a nice patio area out front.

Got an order from the TG2G app. Delicious. I'm actually from Nashville area and it's just as good as any chicken I've had back home.

One of the best chicken places in the city. Great portions, delicious brunch options and a relaxed atmosphere. Love their Mac & Cheese, cobbler and the fact that you can actually get sweet tea here. The Southerner in me rejoiced. Hallelujah!
Also, if you find yourself wondering if you want your sandwich bun to be a fresh biscuit instead... the answer is YES! Future you will thank you later for saying yes to the biscuit.
Get the biscuit.

Great fried chicken and chicken biscuit sandwich. I got the sandwich with pimento cheese and hot honey and it was very good. The fries were just ok but the chicken is the star here and will come back for it!

Food was a delight! I got the sunrise and it was delicious. The biscuits are great and the hot chicken is cooked very well. I got Nashville hot and it was pretty mild. Next time I’ll be going for a bit hotter. The Mac n cheese was just okay. I’d definitely be coming back though!

What an amazing food experience. Saw this place recommended on the television show Cheap Eats so while my husband and I were in Chicago we decided to go and see if it lived up to the hype. We ordered exactly what the host Ali Khan ate and WOW were we blown away. We are from the south and have still tasted nothing like this back home. Next time we're in Chicago this will be our go-to for breakfast every day.

Nashville hot baby! Chicken was good. Love their drink selection. Mac n cheese is the bomb. Good family fun!

We got take out from here, and pretty much ordered everything on the menu, even the peach cobbler. We tried both the Nashville hot and the herb seasoned chicken, the coleslaw, the mac & cheese and of course biscuits. The chicken was moist and super flavorful - both kinds. And we LOVE spicy, but we both actually favored the herb seasoned chicken the best. I know, weird. And those biscuits...I could go swimming in a vat of them. The rest of the sides and the peach cobbler were kind of just okay. But I know that they're known for their sandwiches and I spy a pretty awesome looking taco situation, so we'll definitely be hitting that up soon for sure.

I've been wanting to try this place for well over a year and FINALLY got around to it since I'm currently living a few blocks away. My boyfriend and I got up semi-early and headed over. We were surprised how empty it was when we arrived around 10:45. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: They stop serving their breakfast menu at 11am. Also, if you're not into eggs don't waste your time on the breakfast menu just make you own sandwich, it's cheaper & allows you a bit more options. That was something I didn't realize until it was too late.

With all that aside let's get down to the details...I ordered the Ali: Nashville hot chicken on a biscuit with an egg & pickles. I've never tried Nashville hot chicken before and was quite nervous I had made a mistake but honestly, I didn't think it was too hot. It was perfect actually. I loved it. I eat spicy everything though so I may have an advantage. The chicken itself was really crispy and the biscuit was fantastic. It crumbled everywhere...I ended up have to eat the sandwich with a fork and knife by the end of it. But I didn't care...okay, at first I really did care...but I came to my senses. IT ALL GOES TO THE SAME PLACE & IT ALL TASTES DELICIOUS.

We didn't try any of the sides and based on reviews I don't think that it something I ever will anyways. The next time I go back I will be getting cheese on my sandwich though...they melt it with a blow torch! WHAT!? How fun is that?

Side note: My boyfriend ordered the Stevie. He was a fan. I took a bite. I was also a fan. THE CHEESE. It was so melty and rich and wonderful. MAN...I'm going back, for sure.

Stopped in for lunch here after I saw them bring out a plate of chicken. Pro tip here, don't get the sides. Both the coleslaw and the mac&cheese were lacking in flavor. The saving grace was of course the main event: the fried half a chicken. I waited 20 minutes for it and it was worth it. The breaking was crisp and tasty the chicken itself was juicy and tender. The hillbilly taco (generous sized fried chicken strip covered in coleslaw and chipotle ranch) was good but not anything to write home about (see earlier comment about cole slaw). Worth it for the fried chicken though.

Now THIS is some delicious fried chicken! On my first visit I went for the Nashville Hot and this was just a bit too spicy for me - I like heat but this had my lips tingling and my tastebuds fried (no pun intended). On my next visit I tried just the plain Spicy and it was perfect! Their biscuits and buttery and delicious and when you stick their giant fried chicken breast in between with their chipotle sauce and a few pickles...heaven!

I wasn't a huge fan of their cucumber coleslaw or their mac 'n cheese so the hand-cut potato chips, a biscuit, or the peach cobbler or baked apples are my go-to sides. Fried chicken has become the new fad food here in Chicago and The Roost might just be my favorite!
