A true hidden gem. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. First, we arrived without reservations during restaurant week. They seated us right away anyway. We even got to sit at the chefs table! We ordered our choices for each course up front. Our server, Kamma, timed every course perfectly! He accidentally sent mussels instead of snails for our second course. It was a perfectly acceptable mistake since they let us keep the mussels and the snails arrived only a moment later. We ordered a fish and steak entree. The steak was pretty bland. The fish was the real star. It was a beautiful night out with spectacular service, delicious food and wine.

WOW the FOOD was AMAZING! I had the scallop for an appetizer - TO DIE FOR! I could have had 2 more as my meal! The next time I go I just might! My husband had the Petite Veggies for his appetizer. Very nice and flavorful. The He had the King Crab and I had the Lamb and Belly entrees. I mean, words cannot describe the quality of this amazing meal. The Drinks are reallyt something you don't see everywhere. The Moscow Mule was fun but the Elderflower gin cocktail is a MUST! Also the staff was unreal. Stephen and Shane were impeccable. A flawless meal with flawless service. THANK YOU!

Food is incredible. We had some odd problems with service,... I'm hoping it was our waiter's first day or something? We ended up having a bunch of different people come to our table and none of them communicated with each other so it was a lot of 'double deliveries' and many mix ups, but everyone there was really pretty nice. I'd definitely go there again for the food and trust that they've gotten their front-of-the house issues resolved.

Food was imaginative, creative and delicious. I've never had fish so hot, I couldn't eat it right away. Decor is really nice as well, not sitting on top of people around you which is nice. Can't wait to sit outside this summer!

Took my fiance here for her birthday and we both found the experience to be exceptional. Located off the beaten path, The Blanchard offers delicious food, tasty cocktails, superior service and a comfortable, yet upscale, atmosphere. Priced right for the quality of food. My favorite dish was the Fioe Gras seared #2 - due to how delicious it was and the fact that it lists "magic" as one of the ingredients. I had the cassoulet while my fiance had the boeuf bourguignon. Everything was perfect and resulted in an memorable night out.

One of the best dining experiences in Chicago. The place is super lovely: It is contemporary, but at the same time has a warm and friendly feel. We were lucky to get a place at the Chef's table, so we could see how the magic is created. Jason Paskewitz (The Chef) is a super nice guy. Despite place being very busy, he found time to talk to the patrons. We chatted with him about the origins of his culinary art and even took a picture with him. Lamb chop is to die for!!! The only thing we regret about the visit is that we didn't have more time. We'll be sure to come back.

Food is indeed delicious, refined cuisine, well served, good choice of French wines and price is reasonable. Nice service and kind waiters who really take care of you. However is too noisy, if you are looking for a quiet and romantic address take the tables near the entrance or walk away. I changed twice...

The service and food are amazing, ambiance was so so the Saturday I visited - primarily noisy groups of middle aged people (we were expecting a slightly more romantic bistro vibe.) That said, the bordelaise sauce is the best I've had, apparently they reduce it over a couple days which explains how it is that amazing. Also the foie gras was worth the walk over on it's own.

The food is amazing! The cocktails are great too. Be prepared to wait for your reservation but it's totally worth it. The escargot is one of the best I've ever had.

This place is phenomenal. We have been here several times now and it is great every time. Seared foie gras and duck breast are always on point, and you have to try the cream of mushroom soup if it is the season! Not sure how they still do not have a Michelin star.

Living a day's cycle ride from Paris, it seems odd that I'd travel 4000 miles to choose French Cuisine. But, I'm pleased to note that The Blanchard makes the trip worth while. I first came here to sample (then) executive chef Jason Paskewitz's amazing sous-vide creations, and had thought the menu unlikely to be improved upon. I am very glad to see that Ryan Burns has managed to maintain, and in some cases extend the offering. The ambience remains beautiful, the desserts deliciously tempting, and the menu successfully pairs the imaginative with the approachable.

The care with which this establishment approaches food is exemplary. The attention to detail, from the ingredients to the in-house preparations, from the wine list to the carefully selected by-the-glass offerings: everything gets done with attention that reveals passion, with focus that conveys zeal, and with dedication that betrays love. Have a taste of the torchon de foie gras and you will get an idea of the dedication with which all its elements are made in house. Peruse the wine list and you will relish many lesser known vintners alongside the stars of the trade. Dunk pieces of perfectly pink duck into its gravy's gooey richness and get a sense of the time it took to blend these tastes. Only the vegetarian offerings could be improved on, if only to match the succulence of everything else. Ambience, food, libations, and service make every experience unforgettable.

First time having brunch here. Amazing food and staff. And surprisingly large portion sizes. Had the lobster club and the croque monsieur. We will be back!
