High Five Ramen - Chicago - Photo album

I got in easily at 8 on a Saturday, probably because it's the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I had the tonkatsu 1/2 spiced, which was very flavorful. The noodles were easy to eat and have a little bite, which is exactly how I like them. The pork was also so tender and melted in my mouth. For 20 dollar
Came here on Monday night and the wait was about 30 minutes. I've heard it can be a much longer wait on weekends, FYI. The ramen was SO delicious! Seriously some of the best ramen I've ever had. The Signature bowl was definitely the way to go the first time. On top of that, the service was excellent
Visiting this food spot is a journey in itself! From the moment you step up to the entrance, you're met with a staircase that leads down to an intriguing underground spot. The dim lighting adds to the restaurant's uniqueness, and once you're in, you'll feel the compression from the walls being so cl
Great ramen, usually has a wait. Got the signature bowl which was great, I would definitely recommend at 1/4 spice level otherwise it’s too overpowering.
Very small ramen shop with a simple menu and darker ambiance. They have a few different spice levels to choose from. Try to get here early! The waits get long due to the small size. Do NOT mess around with the spice here. I eat a lot of spicy food so I have a good tolerance, so the 1/2 spice was do
The place is a little bit hidden in the basement and it's also really small. It seats maybe 15 people total. The Signature Tonkatsu ramen was a little bit salty but I think overall it was pretty good. The egg was nice and runny. Alot of bean sprouts but not enough onions.
Went on a Monday holiday evening at 530pm, only a 30 minute wait. Business definitely seemed slower compared to the past but also the summer, so maybe a hot bowl of ramen wasn't on people's minds. Got signature bowl, half-spice was definitely plenty of heat, loved the smoky flavor of the broth and t
I got the Signature Bowl with 1/2 spice and Maitake Mushrooms. Washrooms are upstairs. 1/2 spice is pretty spicy. Full spice is very spicy. I’ve never seen anyone get the Katambo Spicy thing.
It was good, but pricey. I got the signature Tonkotsu. The broth is quite heavy and salty compared to other places. I tend to prefer cleaner broths and usually gulp down every last drop, but I couldn’t do it here. Pork was great, egg was perfect. Nice to try! I might take friends here to experience
Super dark. Kinda cool ambience. Pretty small. Maybe enough stools for 16 people. The tonkatsu broth is really flavorful. Very good. No spice was good, didn't distract from broth. I got the second ramen with full spice, and it was way too much spice. You could feel the texture of the spice, it's p
Amazing Ramen 🍜 All around, this spot is on point. I had the Tonkotsu bowl and it was crafted to perfection: the broth was dense and rich, the noodles had great texture, and the pork melted in your mouth. Definitely plan ahead and get your reservation here. It’s worth the wait!
Lived in Japan for 2 years and this ramen really does compare nicely. Price point is higher than Japan but that is to be expected. Great food, music, and staff. Really a great place to eat and chill with friends. Only 16 seats and no reservations so come early. 10/10
Excellent spot for ramen! Like all the reviews say, it’s a very small space of only about 15 seats. I got there about 20 minutes before it opened and joined a line of a few people. When they opened we were sat right away, and within 4 minutes of opening, there were no open seats left! The staff was
If you haven’t been here, go! Expect a bit of a line sometimes; only seats 16 people. The music is awesome always. Flavors are banging. I get 1/4 spice or 1/2 spice. Very yummy cocktails too. Hostess Lisa, all the staff, & the chefs are always so cool & so kind. Keep it up! Love seeing Jake the mana
I found a Ramen noodle place that reminds me of the noodles I had in Tokyo.. so good! The miso broth and sliced pork makes the difference. You have to know where it is to find it… even with the address you could miss it. See the hand on the door? It’s behind there, seats only 16, has a line before
One of the best out of the way spots for very good ramen. Four choice and three levels of spice. Simple and straight to the point. Super Good!!!
The best ramen in the city! Get here early, put your name on the list and they will text you. By 5pm the wait is typically over an hour. By 6pm it’s a 2 hour wait. The music is always unique house music with thumping bass that fits the dark basement bar ambiance perfectly. Their 22oz $11 Japanese b
