Not super happy with my food here, but I should have known since this isn’t my favorite type of pizza (Sicilian). Can’t give it 5 stars, but didn’t want to go down too low either.
The crust was very crisp, spicy sauce and pepperonis, lots of cheese on the pizza. We were surprised that the “sausage” pizza was loaded with more than just sausage (vegetables).
Definitely don’t play to be back, but maybe it’s good if you like this type of pizza?
We ordered three pizzas for delivery, including the pesto potato, miso mushroom, and pizzeria chignon (limited special). Each pizza had incredible flavors with buttery and crispy crust - I particularly enjoyed the distinctive combination of pesto with potato and miso mushrooms on the pizza, all with generous portions and toppings. The Caesar salad with anchovies was also a fun appetizer to the meal. I'm definitely looking forward to ordering again and exploring more of their delicious flavors.
We liked the pizza we got from Pizza Friendly Pizza, but it missed the 5 star mark for me. While the flavors are good and the crust is light and airy, it really lacked any crisp to make the textures stand out. The whole thing was more of a soft bread texture. Maybe it was because we went at night and we got slices instead of a full preordered pizza.
Our order was the box of slices (9 slices - you choose the flavors), and we tried every flavor they had. For me, the ones that stood out were the pickle and the sausage - those were delicious. The other flavors were good but not exceptional.
Overall, this is a spot that I’d go to again if I was in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there. More crispiness and carmelized edges would really elevate the pizza. Service was very friendly though
I give it 4.5 stars. They had 3 vegetarian options (miso mushroom was my favorite) and all were really tasty. Wish the portions were a little bigger - I think I would need 3-4 to fill up. The outside patio area was cute, would go for a low key date.
The pizza was very good. I was a big fan of the meal for 2 dinner deal which allowed me and my girlfriend to try a lot of items off their menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the ceaser salad which included anchovies and it was so good! I also really enjoyed the burrata dip which when so well with everything.
My daughter said, " if people knew they had Sprite here, this place would be packed!" The kids enjoyed the cheese pizza, crust is very fluffy, bready, but good if that's your speed. Not my usual, but I really enjoyed it, esp. the "miso mushroom" slice (my wife and I split the "slice flight").
Ambience is excellent punk pizza dive, but the music choice was a little NSFW (for the kids).
Really great pizza slices, tasted great. Only downside was that the wait time was very long, and each person's order came to the table around 10 minutes apart so we couldn't eat together.
Overall the pizza was delicious , we tried a slice of each. I recommend carry out the place is a little small.
I am so sad I’m moving out of this neighborhood. I waited too long to enjoy this spot to its full potential. Amazing pizza.
Dinner for Me (or 2 I suppose) - Four slices of pizza - Fig & Pig, Sausage & Fennel, Miso Mushroom, and Roasted Kabocha Squash, The Other Salad, and breadsticks with vegan cheese.
Some of the best pizza that I have had in months. The weekly special was my favourite - kabocha squash was savoury with a hint of sweetness from the squash. The Fig & Pig was a close second.
Pizza Friendly Pizza has some of the best pizza in the city! You can’t get a pizza like this anywhere else. Their burrata is my favorite, but I’ve tried most of the menu at this point, and it’s always a treat!
Unique take on pizza. Almost like a focaccia bread, except it’s been pizza-fied! Would try again.
The pizza here is fantastic! You buy it but the slice! I’d recommend getting two slices as one isn’t enough to fill you up! The miso mushroom is definitely the best! Check it out if you love mushrooms!
Absolutely delicious, I really appreciate the multiple layers of texture in the pizza, especially the fluffiness on the top and the crispiness on the bottom! The cheese is also good quality, and I like that there's a little bit of a kick in some of the slices. The pizzaberry tonic is a must!
This pizza is crazy good. Best deal is to get your slice, Lu and shot of fernet for $10! Though, I usually have to have to eat a second slice. Quick and friendly service, they have some seating available. Despite being in the alley, it's a super chill ambiance. Stay for the tunes!
All you need to know is that I dreamt of the pizza after eating it, and considered getting a whole pizza to take on a 5-hour Amtrak ride. 6/5 stars.
