They redeemed themselves after a long wait with an incredible salad as a token...I am THE biggest critic when it comes to food-restaurants. I must say that Fish Bar is spectacular. I'lll be back (Terminator voice).

After moving to Chicago from Florida a few years back, it seemed that good seafood had been practically impossible to find here. Well today I'm eating my words - literally and figuratively, as we have just discovered some of the BEST seafood anywhere, be it Chicago or anywhere else for that matter. The food at The Fish Bar is absolutely outstanding! Fresh and simple, yet rich and spicy. An atmosphere that's very laid back casual. The Fish Bar is one of those hidden gems that is Outrageously good and on every level!

The lobster sliders are unreal. The service was incredible - there were three girls on the patio that were all helping the main waitress, Bailey - who was fantastic and super knowledgable on the menu. Went next door after, and had another amazing experience (awesome bartender). Will definitely be checking out more DMK restaurants next time we're in Chicago.

First time here and it was great! Tried the shrimp cocktail, which was more like a chunky salsa served with chips...delicious. Had the crispy shrimp tacos and hush puppies also delicious! Try the pineapple, jalepeño infused margarita...just awesome! Friendly service and outside dining available. Highly recommend this place.

I've been a huge fan of DMK, so I've been dying to try out Fish Bar (owned by the same group) We finally made it here yesterday afternoon and arrived right when they first opened. Kayleigh was our server. The first thing I noticed was that it's pretty casual, which I appreciated. Kayleigh made lots of recommendations for what she liked and also gave us a heads up about spice level on a few different dishes. We saw The Crabby Patty featured on Food Network, so we already knew we were going to order that. We also ordered the Lobster Bisque, 1/4 order of Calamari, and the Po'Boy. The Lobster Bisque was unique as it had red thai curry on it. Even though Kayleigh warned us it was pretty spicy, I was still surprised by the kick. I really loved it and it was probably my favorite thing of the day. Both sandwiches were awesome and I can't decide which I like more. Kayleigh was super attentive and friendly. I would come back in a heart beat to get another Crabby Patty and lobster bisque.

Happy we stopped by for dinner one night here, we had walked by it so many times. Our server was outstanding: very passionate about the food, knowledgable, and helpful. We got some soup, ceviche, and some fish sandwiches which were all delicious and filling. I’m looking forward to trying it again. The space was cute, and we got a cozy booth in the corner. The only downside was they didn’t have any bread pudding, which we were looking forward to trying. Hopefully it’s available next time!

The lobster roll was DELICIOUS. I'd given them a 5 for that. However they forgot to tell put in my Mac and cheese order. So by the time it arrived I was done with my meal. That wasn't the issue, that was the worse Mac and cheese I'd ever had. It was basically naked noodles with a sprinkle of Kraft shredded cheese on top, from the MICROWAVE no less. $9, they should never In life sale Mac n cheese. Also, tater tots were so overly salty, my daughter could not eat them. Lastly the bar chairs, I didnt explore to see of they had booths but the seating at the bar area was highly uncomfortable. I thought it was because I am fat, but my daughter who is 110lbs found it uncomfortable as well. Will definitely be back for another Lobster roll, though.

Small, super casual seafood joint in Lakeview. Cool quiet vibe, probably best for groups of 4 or less. This restaurant will now be in my regular rotation. Happy hour is M-F 4-7pm and has stellar deals. $8 for any draft beer and two oysters? Say less! Service was quick and helpful. Everything we tried tasted good, my favorites were the oysters and fried calamari. Prices are more than reasonable, awesome bang for your buck!

The Fish Bar is a great local seafood place that feels like something out of a Jimmy Bufet song. The environment is perfectly casual and light. The food is delicious, both the raw and cooked varieties. Portion sizes vary by dish, but are generally fair for the prices. The happy hour is definitely worth coming in for! Unlike most happy hours, there are actual discounts and good deals. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be coming back again and again when I want good casual and light seafood mixed with good taps and cocktails.

Came for lunch on a Saturday. Fun vibe. Great service. Unique dishes. We had oysters, beat salad, crab cake sandwich and calamari. I'd order everything again but the crab cake. More cake than crab imo.

Came here a couple of times. Most of the food is great and usually the service is good. Prices are reasonable although dishes can seem to be small portions for some. I usually drink the Sun Crasher beer, You're My Boy Blue cocktail or if I'm not in the mood for alcohol- the guava/blood-orange homemade sodas.

Was on the hunt for some oysters and finally found them! Not only did Fish Bar have good oysters but they gave me the option to select either east or west coast! I personally prefer the east coast but still tired the west coast. As for the service… it was a bit slow but there was only one person (from the looks of it) working. But other than the slow service the oysters really hit the spot

My boyfriend and I popped in here walking by for dinner. It was right before a dinner rush so it was perfect. It was an early winter evening, dark lighting, really cool wraparound bar. At the time, there was one person waiting and making drinks. He was awesome. Such great service and so personable. Gave us recommendations on what to get. I got the walleye combo bowl and I’ve thought about many times since. It was so fresh and tasty. Overall, great ambience, fish quality, and price. Definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to.

This was such a unique find in this quiet Chicago neighborhood. Amazing place and love the decor. The food was so unique and amazing. Best chowder and gumbo. The lobster roll and the burger were so well done and tasted fantastic. Loved the vibe here and the service. Very well maintained place and clean. The service time wasn't long and this wasn't crowed when I went there. There is bar style seating as well as booths. The hearing is on point, warm and nice. Extra points for the canoe decor hanging from the roof and the hanging pendant lights. Give it a try, you won't regret.

Watermelon salad was good though a smidge too salty, I'm not sure if they added salt to the dressing but with the high salt content of Feta I don't think it required more. The Salmon was amazing, I haven't had a delicate buttery pan seared salmon in quite some time. The oysters were merely okay, too expensive for the size, I feel like the ketchup and vinaigrette that comes with are unnecessary. The drink, Lavender margarita, was lacking the expected boozy kick and definitely watered down during the outdoor heat. Would recommend but as a date outing or work outing as after tax and tip it was almost $60 for one person.

I tried to make a reservation but open table said there was no reservation for a part of 4 at 6pm. When I called, the host said reservations could only be made via open table. We decided to try our luck since we were going to a show at the Vic. The food was good. Service was adequate. The ambiance felt more like a fast food outlet. The restaurant was only a third full the entire time we were there, btw.

We got the fish and chips special they are doing on Fridays during Lent. It was $12. We ate at a funny time (around 3:30-4 pm) so this could have had an effect on our experience. 1. Not worth the price. I think $9 would have been a solid price for what we got. Or I would have paid $15 for one more piece of fish and a heartier helping of the fries. 2. The fish itself was very good. Well fried. Tasty batter. Tartar sauce was solid. Fries had potential but it felt like we got leftover sad fries. 3. Vibe was nice and casual. This place feels like a summer spot. I liked the seating but you have to go next door to DMK for parties of 5+. 4. The staff was really friendly and attentive. 5. Lots of happy hour specials in the blackboard (sorry no pic) but I do remember there being something about an all you can eat crab thing on Tuesdays. I’d still recommend this place. I think they just didn’t care that much about this menu item. I’m sure the other items are better, right?

Small, quiet, friendly service. The atmosphere is very casual...paper towels, mason jars, silverware in a cup on the counter, BUT it's got great food. Twice recently, I've had the best trout I've been served in a very long time. Shrimp boil, chicken sandwich, popcorn shrimp, soups...all delicious. Other than the calamari, I've loved everything I've tried so far. They have $1.50 oyster happy hour with drink specials, chefs tasting menus and playful dessert. I enjoyed everything
