No place in Chicago can compare to the special experience that is Parachute. The food is beyond comparison and words cannot capture the flavor and surprise in every course. The atmosphere is relaxed chic and service spectacular. You can take me here anytime ;)

My son and daughter-in-law took us to Parachute to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we walked in the door we knew this was a special place! The aromas were so delicious and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The decor was modern and a little funky. Tables are close and it's a little loud but once you get used to it it's not a problem at all. We opted for the Chefs pairing menu. Portions were ample and each dish was amazing. Nothing failed to impress. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

My friend and I had an amazing dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented. There were surprisingly subtle flavors with some selections and really powerful flavor combinations with others. We sampled many dishes and loved them all. The staff was terrific and the energy of the place is just perfect. Really can't wait to go back.

I had dinner here tonight. The food was excellent the service was outstanding the staff is personable and helpful. I recommend going with friends, trying several different items and sharing them. The dress code is casual they open at 5 and I highly recommend reservations within 20 minutes of opening they were packed. It's a small but unique place to go.

We planned our dinner at Parachute for our trip from Cincinnati. We were told that the food was unique and wonderful, but words can't prepare you for the flavor experience of every bite. Not overwhelming flavor, but delicate, definite, carefully concocted flavors all dancing in harmony. And the wait staff was friendly, serving expertly but also unobtrusively. Fabulous!

Outstanding experience. Laid back, super casual yet elevated and refined. Service was top notch, the space warm and cozy. It's in my top 5 spots in and around the city. Sovereign in Plainfield first but I may be biased. Parachute is a solid second. Seriously though, fantastic job by the entire team. A must visit!

Truly outstanding! The service and atmosphere were top notch, and the food was undeniably well crafted, fresh, and delicious. I could not choose a favorite dish, as they were all stellar. Perfect for a date night, or dinner with friends. We will be back!

As a self proclaimed foodie, of course Parachute was at the top of my list of places to try. It did not disappoint! You can tell the dishes are well thought out and the ambience is a cool, family restaurant vibe. On our way home, we discussed our "top 3" fav dishes and it kept changing as we loved them all! Well done!

Chef Kim has again excelled with masterful combinations of flavor, texture, color and freshness. Not easy to pick a favorite dish, but the duck was superb.

Loved it -- the decor is fun, the service was great, wine list is unique and interesting. Dishes that were incredible: baked potato bing bread, broccoli salad with dates and pistachios, 60 day aged sirloin. Dishes that were very good: bi bim bop - loved the mix of textures and flavors. Dish that was just good: mandu (dumplings) were surprisingly light and full of savory flavor, but compared to everything else we had they were just fine. We wouldn't think twice about going back tonight!

My experience at Parachute was a solid 10!! The food was excellent, and that was only part of what made our night great!! The best part of our experience for me was the people. We were treated so kindly from every single person working Saturday evening from start to finish. As soon as we walked in the door two ladies greeted us warmly with kind smiles and faces. We were then seated, and said hello to with a smile from every employee that crossed our faces. Josh took care of every question we had with complete understanding and great, welcoming personality. The food speaks for itself. But how often do you go to a place where every single employee actually seems delighted to be there?? This restaurant could easily receive a 10 for its food, but our 10 goes to each and every employee that made our experience a grand, and joyful one!! Cheers

Parachute was a lovely experience. I enjoyed the food and the drinks and would definitely consider coming back for a special occasion. The price of some items to portion size was really high but I would just not order them again. The food was really good and hit a lot of different notes. The absolute stand outs for me was the pork bossam, mushroom and chestnut rice, and the mackerel. The bossam was a lovely mix and match where you could make little wraps with different things like cabbage, shiso leaves, or picked radish slices. The combination with the cuts of the fatty pork meat was a delight. I would say though the pickled radish and mixing with the watermelon radish kimchi (a stand out) is a must to cut through some of the fattiness. I also really loved the rice dish. The mushroom added a beautiful umami flavor to the rice and the chestnut added a light sweetness that complimented it perfectly. It was also a great addition to the bossam. The mackerel was good, well priced and tasty with a nice oceany flavor that combined well with the sauces. Lastly, in terms of food, I would just like to mention the tar tar is served relatively frozen although the flavor was great, it was a little too hard for me to fully enjoy. The cocktails and rice wine/liquor were all delicious. The bar tender that we sat with provided amazing service and wonderful explanations about everything. I couldn't pick a favorite so 10/10 would recommend grabbing at least one drink while you are there. In summary, I would definitely come to try it out, drinks are awesome, food is good but some of it is overpriced for the portion size, especially compared to similar caliber restaurants I have been too. All of this in mind, If you like Korean food this restaurant is worth checking out for at least a one shot.

This place is AMAZING, the ambiance is very cool and chill vibes, the wine list is interesting I wish they would separate them in white reds or give a better description. Food will rock your palette, so many flavors and textures. The seafood pancake was delicious, the mackerel melted off the spine while the beef soup was rich and tender, everything was finger licking good!

I have no clue why this place is rated a 4.5. Legitimately one of the coolest restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago and the food was just so well done, so were the drinks. Amazing hospitality as well. Kudos to the team and happy 10 years!!!

Loved this place! Dining here was a spur of the moment decision and I'm glad we came! The ambiance was very hipster and relaxed. The music was soft and funky. I really like the vibe of the place. The food was wonderful. We shared everything and order four items. The first was a noodle salad that had gochujang sauce we loved this, besides the dessert this was my favorite dish. It was spicy and had a lot of flavor, the portion was great for two people. The next dish was the green onion pancake. It was also very good but difficult to eat with chop sticks, as it was hard to separate. We probably could have asked for forks but we were determined to use chop sticks. Third dish was the mackerel. Super difficult to eat with chop sticks, we had a hard time eating it. I also thought it was a tad dry, but it was very fresh tasting. It came with a few sides and a lot of rice. Even if we had forks, we wouldn't order this again. Last and best dish was the dessert. You need to come ASAP because they change the flavor of the shaved ice and right now it's strawberries and you will be missing out in life if you don't get to try this dessert. Every bite was a new flavor and texture. It was so overwhelming good, I want to come back just to eat that dessert and not share it. We didn't order and alcohol but I did order their green tea and I really enjoyed it. I'm a fan of green tea and this was the best I've ever had. Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes! Next time we plan on ordering wine or a cocktail. :) Also our server was wonderful! Great service!

What a delight... so glad we stopped by on our first night on this Chicago trip. Everything was well executed, perfectly balanced. The flavors keep you wanting more. Tartare and pork bossam were definitely our favorites. Bold flavors, fresh ingredients, can't ask for more. We also ordered the brisket soup and bulgogi. The pickles and rice that came with that were lovely. The portion sizes were perfect, enough to satisfy a healthy appetite. We had both desserts because we had a feeling they would be amazing. Grape bingsu was definitely a standout. I'm not even that impressed by shaved ice but all the different elements in the dessert made it exceptional! We hope to be back one day.

First, the food here is amazing. No seriously, it is amazing. Pork Bossam for me was the absolute star. We also loved the yuk hwe (beef tartare) and japche. Second, the atmosphere is awesome. Great music, great service, great decor, and it was busy right when they opened. It was fun and felt good. We are definitely returning to try more of the menu.

Possibly one of the best Korean restaurants in Midwest. Their menu and recipes are authentically Korean except there is much more. The flavors in all of their dishes are so much more complex than any Korean food I’ve ever had. Highly highly recommended.

Was visiting a friend in Chicago and decided to get dinner. Little did I know I'd stumble into some of the best food I'd ever eat. Phenomenally fresh and delicious Korean fare that fully deserves the Michelin star it tastefully puts just out of sight. Incredible place and not terribly expensive given the quality.

was a nice overall experience, if you wanted some korean but a more niche environment this is it. The menu: I enjoyed their unique korean drinks and the layered desert. I would not recommend the fish if you not so good at picking bonds out. I would come back to try the rest of the menu. The raw options does looks good will try the next time.

Delicious! We ordered 4 dishes and a dessert for the two of us. It was a lot of food. Next time we go, we will probably order 3 dishes and then maybe order 1 more depending on how we feel on our 3rd dish! Their Bingsu is to die for. I've had a fair share of Bingsus in my life growing up in Korea. It was one of the best Bingsus I've ever had and I will definitely be back for it. Their Galbijjim was very generous in portion and I loved the rice in stone bowl, Dolsotbap. Oh. I will definitely be back.
