I went out on a limb to try something different and I do not like spicy food....like at all. I can't compliment the staff, beer/drink options and last but not least, the food enough!!! Food was incredible. It was infact spicy, however, it had amazing flavor so I ACTUALLY ATE IT!!! For those like me who are a bit more sensitive to spice, they have a mayo base aioli that toned it down enough for me to enjoy...an was truly delightful!! What a pleasant surprise. Loved the Red, White and Blue drink and Clover Club. Both fruity wine and beer were delicious! Can't have rave enough!! Price was right on. This will be on our must stop list for Chicago!

Jerk; that it is. The chicken quarters was completely tender and juicy, even a day later for leftovers. Everything I tasted was great. The jerk rub reminded me of Jamaican travels but could have a little bit more tang to it. They sauces were exactly as the workers described to me; not necessarily a jerk sauce, but all complimentary to the jerk food itself. Yum! That's Jamaican, it shouldn't need a sauce if it's already jerk. The staff were awesome, got the orders correct & very friendly!

Went in on memorial day around 8pm. Ordered2 jerk chicken quarters, 2 coconut rices, 2 corn and beans, 2 mac n cheeses, 2 plantains and 2 fountain drinks. We were offered and given all the sauces and extra forks/napkins. We had not even finished filling our drinks at the station (the have one of those soft drinks dispensers that have all the different kinds of drinks) and our order was ready! Food tastes great too, overall very very satisfied with my service and food from here I couldn't wait to write the review :D

Great Great food! I have been to Jerk quite a few times, and have had great meals. The staff is very friendly, and the jerk fries and mac / cheese ROCK! I really have no idea what spices they use on their meats, but the flavors are amazing. This might be the first Jamaican place I have been to in Chicago, and it was incredible!

Really excellent sauces. The jerk sauce and the Rude Girl sauce were packed with flavor. The chicken by itself was very well seasoned and packs great flavor even without sauce. The brisket wasn't as flavorful but tasted great paired with the sauces. Coleslaw was decent. Everything was on the "not very sweet" side and that's perfect for me.

Today I ordered them on Uber eats and wanted to go out of my way to recommend this place again ! I decided to get it for my wife who is Haitian & Jamaican and was missing some food of home. She was so happy and as was I ! The patties are great ! The chicken, plantains, Cole slaw and sauce all work perfect ! I haven’t seen or had anything like this around Chicago unless it was cooked from home! Highly recommended! Give them a try ! I now can’t wait to stop by and try something else ! Great jobs guys !

I can't really talk about the atmosphere as it was only me and my sister and two other people there when we went. I'm thinking maybe it's more lively at other times. I got the chicken sandwich, which was good. I wish it was a little bit hotter in spice wise and temperature wise. I got the Mac n cheese, but I prefer the jerk fries, which were really good (I got these later as I was eating) . I don't know what that bread stick thing was, but it was good, too. I tried the jerk wings, which were really good. That sauce you see was good as well. I'd definitely go back for the fries, wings, and sandwich.

This is a pretty cool modernized Jamaican restaurant. I had a friend come into town and we went here for some Jamaican food and were happy with the results and taste. It has a medium sized menu that lists all the basics that you would be craving at Jamaican places. I really enjoyed the Jerk macaroni and BBQ here. The staff was really friendly and gave me good recommendations. The price is very fair and the atmosphere is clean. There is street parking and a parking garage that customers can use.

As a fellow Jamaican, I give this restaurant a 10/10!!! My favorite item was the jerk fries. They had so much seasoning and were the perfect combination of sweet and savory! I even had to go back for thirds! The chicken and chicken wings were seasoned perfectly. The Yuca fries and jerk mac and cheese were to die for. Very clean place and friendly, engaging staff. Our food came very shortly- about 20 minutes. Amazing 🤩

Had been wanting jerk chicken and this was some of the best I've had! I wish they had cabbage on the menu, but everything was really great. And the vibe and staff are both really nice too

I like coconut rice & pea, fried plantain, jerk yuca, and smoked pork. There are many various sauces. I would not mind coming again. I really enjoyed it. The location is perfectly set up because there is a nice view of the tall building and everywhere.

Ordered 2 different combo meals. It was very good but pricey ... wished they added just a little more meat instead of 2 additional sides. They dont accept cash as of the moment. Still, enjoying their food.

Jerk pork, chicken and brisket were all amazing. And the sides are out of this world. The baked beans were some of the best that I've EVER had. Everything was GOOD. And I got left overs! You've got to check this place out!

You have to stop here for Jamaican when in Chicago. The jerk chicken, wings, jerk mac and cheese and island slaw were incredible. Authentic island flavor slow cooked to perfection. My least favorite was the fries but that was only because everything else was so good. I regret not getting more because there were no leftovers after I ate it up!

I've been a loyal customer of Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill for over 7 years, and I felt it's high time I shared my thoughts on this gem of a restaurant. From the early days of overcoming growing pains to becoming a consistently outstanding eatery, Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill has never failed to impress. I vividly remember their opening days when they faced challenges with shortages, but those were merely growing pains. Since then, not once have I received a bad order or encountered the dreaded cold food syndrome. Whether through a delivery service or an occasional in-person pick-up for their Beef Patties, my experiences have been nothing short of excellent. My most recent order through Door Dash was, as always, a delight. The food arrived warm, and the order was spot on. Speaking of Beef Patties, let me tell you, these are the real deal! Forget imitations; Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill boasts the ORIGINAL GOLDEN CRUST. Don't let other places deceive you; this spot has the authentic Golden Crust Beef Patties that will redefine your expectations. My latest order, I couldn't resist trying the dry-run Jerk wings with a side of Rude Gyal and Cilantro Aioli Sauce. The wings were perfection personified — impeccably rubbed, juicy, and downright delicious. The seasoning was on point, and they didn't skimp on flavor. As a longtime fan of their Jerk offerings, I'm grateful that they consistently deliver on the promise of authentic Jamaican flavors. And let's not forget the beverages; a bottle of Ting and two cans of Sprite were the perfect companions to my meal, elevating the entire experience. While I'm already a die-hard fan, I can't help but think that adding oxtail to their menu would be a game-changer. If Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill ever decides to make that addition, consider me a permanent resident! In conclusion, don't be foolish — give this place a try, and you'll undoubtedly thank me later. Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill has not only stood the test of time but has consistently delivered an exceptional dining experience. Here's to another seven years (and more) of culinary bliss!

We were in the mood for bbq and came across this place. The food did not disappoint. We told the beautiful black woman at the front it was our first time and she gave us a sample of all the sides. They were delicious. I ordered the jerk chicken thighs with corn slaw and plantains. Delicious. My husband got the pulled pork with baked beans and jerk Mac and cheese. Delicious. Whenever we come to the city this place is a must. Thank you. P.S. The rum punch is a hit. 10/10

Ordered delivery. 10/10 would order again. The jerk chicken was phenomenal and the sides— so good. Sampled the jerk seasoned Mac cheese, baked beans, and plantains. All were exceptional. Plus they packaged it so neatly there were no spills AND the food was still piping hot on delivery. Absolutely delicious. Also try their hot sauces- absolutely delicious, I’m keeping the leftover to put on other food!

So my husband and I are in Chicago for our honeymoon. He was feeling like some food from his home and we decided to go there. First off, the ladies were very nice. We got the jerk brisket with Mac and Cheese. The Mac and cheese isn’t anything to write home about but the brisket was perfect! We bought some to take home! The sauce was the perfect pairing. He got the barbecue and I got the sweet and spicy sauce. The sweet and spicy sauce is not for people who don’t like a lot of spice. It creeps up on you. 😛 completely recommend for anyone who wants to try Jamaican food or someone who wants a taste of home.

This place is amazing. The food is consistently excellent and it is very fairly priced for how much you get. The people who work there are very chill and it has a nice relaxing atmosphere if you choose to eat in. Rude Girl sauce is effing delicious. I really hope they stay open forever.
