Review Etta (bucktown) - Chicago

Very good restaurant. We ordered pizza, burger and Ranchero for lunch. All delicious. Little pricey but, worth it. Servers were busy. Could use more help. Overall, will come back for the dinner menu.

Went with a group of 6, our server recommended the wild mushroom pizza - which was delicious. The focaccia bread with the honey butter was definitely a hit with our entire table. We ordered everything to share, and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to try so much of the menu. Service was great and timely. Food came out hot and fresh. The drinks were all very tasty but I just can’t stop thinking about the bread. The sauce the bubbling shrimp was in was so smooth and incredible. This is a Chicago must-try if I do say so myself.

Spectacular service and even better food! Pizza was way better than expected. All the sides we had that aren’t pictured were also great. The potatoes were simply perfected and the banana bread cinnamon toast was just… can’t describe. Heavenly.

A solid 4.3 stars for their brunch menu. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with an order that was not up to par (Ill explain further). Ordered the soft scramble with tomato pesto, avacado and arugala. The scramble was definitely fluffy and accented nicely with tomato pesto, creamy avacodo and tart arugula greens. Toast is toast! The side of breakfast sausage was charred and had a bitter burnt taste, which they corrected by re-firing the meat and it was much better when cooked properly (to my surprise, complimentary). The sausage was herbal and fatty and juicy. I dont have an issue paying for the sausage because they did correct their mistake. But I respect their commitment to their craft and their customer satisfaction. Kudos to the management. Just a side note, I rarely return any food but the char was just too overdone. Lastly, the kouign-amman was a very good pastry. The carmelized base was sweet and sticky, the cinnamon and sugar on the top was nice. However, the flaky center could have been a bit more moist, was slightly dry but was still very tasty. Well worth a visit, the bar area is lavish and had comfortable high chairs. UPDATE: Made it for dinner at Etta and it was worth it to re-visit this Bucktown staple. The saffron agnolotti pasta was silky and pillowy. Filled with creamy ricotta in a flavorful sundried tomato pesto sauce. The tart arugula was nice contrast in taste and texture. Arguably one of best stuffed pastas in the City.

Came with a friend and we ordered the sweet potatoes! It had an interesting sauce on them with a flavor I’ve never tasted before, not a bad thing! I ordered the vodka sauced pasta and it was delicious!

Loved it! We sat in the upstairs outside portion, and it was beautiful! Definitely recommend the ricotta pillows, saffron agnolotti, and the whole branzino. If you normally don’t eat whole fish because of the bones, don’t worry because they debone it! We ordered the sweet potatoes, which weren’t bad, but compared to the other dishes we might not order it again. Overall, great spot for a good dinner!

Oh their Neapolitanian style pizza 🤤 great food great service every meal is designed to share! The place is pretty pricy but worth the experience and when you have an open kitchen it always adds this extra warmth and trust.

We came here on a Friday night and had a great time. We had a reservation, but it didn't seem too busy so you might not need one. We started with the oysters. They tasted amazing, but we were disappointed that there were only 4. We also got pizza, beets, and broccoli. The pizza and beets were fantastic. The broccoli was good, but not on the same level as everything else. Service and atmosphere were great. Overall everything was great except the price, which was a bit high.

Been meaning to stop in for some time, and let's say I did not expect the mood, the menu nor that service. Everything was so wonderful to say the least. Great servers, there was not a single thing we ordered that we did not like. Baked Focaccia is just simply a must have. Pastas are phenomenal! We also had chicken and whipped potatoes that were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately no room for dessert but next time I will.

I've been coming to Etta for literally years. Since before the pandemic. The pizzas are wood-fired deliciousness. Not authentic Neapolitan by any means, but tasty food is tasty food and they kept us somewhat sane during lockdown. The drinks are reliably inventive, and the service is always lovely. Sadly, a lot of our favorites have left, but I will say that two stalwarts are still around and always delightful. We always ask for Jeremy or Jess, though I think Jess may have been promoted since we haven't gotten her as a server in a while. They always have great recommendations and are super friendly. Sadly, despite me asking repeatedly, they've don't seem to have had success getting the original Bubbling Shrimp recipe back on the menu, but hey - nobody's perfect.

Excellent new gem in Bucktown! Everything from the location, ambiance, food and service makes this place the perfect addition to Chicago’s dining scene. Highly recommend starting at the bar to enjoy the bad-ass cocktail program then pop into the dining room for your meal. Highlights were the Focaccia with Ricotta, Cacio e Pepe, Lamb and Chicken...takes you back to Sunday supper in mom’s kitchen!

Casual and fun with great food and service. Favorites are the roasted oysters with chili oil and the wood oven pizza. Will be a regular at this place since there are so many other dishes to try.

Great addition to the neighborhood. The focaccia is outrageously delicious... best gluten rich dish in this city . Check them out!
