I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had an outstanding meal. First of all, the service could not have been better. The hostess was very nice and continued to be attentive throughout the night. Our waitress Christina was very knowledgeable and clearly had a passion for the restaurant and the food. Upon sitting down at a cozy candlelit table, we were given rye pretzels with mustard butter- compliments of the chef. Christina walked us through the specials and gave great recommendations. We ordered short rib beignets as an appetizer, the 30oz bone in porterhouse to split as well as 3 sides- boeuf fat fries, spiced carrots, and sauerkraut spaetzle. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted extremely rich and flavorful. Definitely one of the best steaks we've ever had! The whole meal was complemented by a smooth and delicious Pinot Noir from Denmark (we were intrigued by the Danish origin). And at the end of the night we realized that the two couples next to us were also celebrating birthdays and shared a toast. It was an all around wonderful experience. The taste and quality of food (also integrity of farm to table), great service, and atmosphere make the cost 100% worth it. We will definitely be returning!

Very small but it is a great space. The short rib Beignets were awesome, especially the sauce I preferred the filet over the 55 day dry aged ribeye but both were great. The cauliflower gratin was the best, the spatzele was average. Highly recommend this cool hip steak joint

There are really too many good things to say about this place. Amazing food and drink. Great service. Currently they do lunch Friday and Saturday (11am-3pm) Thats when the sandwiches are served. I’d say make a reservation the place has limited seating and can fill up quickly. (Pictured is the little neck clams that were an off menu special.)

Sat at the bar on a Friday night and started things off with a wonderful Martini. From there we got a half dozen oysters that were shucked perfectly, Escargot that was full of garlic and an amazing 30oz Porterhouse for two. One of the better steaks I have had in Chicago in awhile.

Wow, what an incredible date night restaurant! Between the cozy, neighborhood feel, the unbelievably wonderful food, and the excellent service, I would absolutely recommend this spot. We ordered the Short Rib Beignets which we were told are super popular and have been on the menu since the restaurant opened. These were phenomenal, and if you’ve never been, you should be sure to order these! We also had the cavatelli, the dry aged Porterhouse steak, and the fries for dinner. We finished the meal off with the sundae. The steak was one of the best that I have ever had in my life. The quality of the meat combined with the flavor was to die for (I say this as a steak lover!). We sat at the bar, and had excellent service the entire night. This was an expensive meal, but the quality of the food and service match what we paid. Perfect for a special night out!

Best ribeye I’ve had in a long long time. The price reflects that fact but well worth it! Foie gras starter special was also on point. Service was a team effort and we never wanted for anything. Wish they had at least one Napa or Sonoma cab on the list but the wine selections were varied enough to find what you want.

Been dining at Boeufhaus since opening month and still does not disappoint. Must do’s: escargot, pastrami-cured salmon, The Tartare of Boeuf. The finale, a flawlessly cooked duck breast. Get the espresso Martini. Pro tip: eat a steak!

From the service to the food this place was amazing and Brad made the night even better! You could definitely taste flavor throughout every dish. The short rib beignets were amazing and the scallops were big portions and cooked just right. The steak had an amazing flavor, we got the porterhouse and the ribeye. The ribeye had a more umami flavor to it, but it’s amazing how different parts of the porterhouse had different flavors due to one part being a strip and the other a filet. Also the fries couldn’t have been better, especially the aioli to dip in. The sorbet at the end was super refreshing the passion fruit was my favorite! You pay for you what you get when you come here and they do offer menu items to accommodate anyone’s budget, definitely will be back, a top 3 steakhouse in my opinion no doubt!

Dry age was a new experience, but I'm not super convinced with the flavor payoff. It wasn't the best steak I ever had, but Boeufhaus hit all the marks for: a) an intimate experience, b) a place worth going to celebrate something, c) relaxed/noisy atmosphere.

Our son & daughter-in-law treated my husband & me to the Sunday Supper Club at Boeufhaus and what a treat was! From soup to pie, everything was delicious & well prepared — the fun & very tasty nod to a relish plate, Caesar, the Prime Rib & Lobster, the twice-baked potato, the broccoli & spinach (perfectly cooked) & ending with the pie & Sundae - everything was of high quality & perfectly prepared. The restaurant is charming & the staff were superb —attentive, friendly & never rushing. It was a festive & fun evening & we can’t wait to come back — next time our treat!

This steakhouse serves amazing food and has some interesting menu items. The ribeye was pretty amazing and sauces and sides were delicious. They offer a good beer selection as well with some German beers on tap. It is definitely going to be crowded and a bit loud on weekends since the place is pretty small. I do wish they had another potato side besides fries, they were pretty good, but I usually prefer different sides with my steak than fries. Service was top notch and food came out at a great pace. Highly recommend!

i could propose to this burger it was so amazing 1000/10 the onions IN the melted cheese was a perfect touch buttery toasted bun, burger cooked to PERFECTION it knocked my kiss-printed socks off from under the bar seating. The Aioli you see- is not what meets the eye- it is eons better than you would ever predict, and trust me (a loyal aioli connoisseur) this basically made my tastebuds tingle in every exciting bite, pair it with the fries that are crisped to perfection- every bite in this picture was like tasting heaven. ++ Bonus Points for the best Pickle sliver on the side The Fried Perch was also amazing
