What an amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, the service was phenomenal. The sushi chef was gracious enough to suggest each of my courses...which were super tasty! My server was super knowledgeable and made an excellent cocktail suggestion! I felt like I was in great hands. Here is what really impressed me. As my visit went on, it started to get busier and busier, and busier. The staff never missed a beat! The teamwork and camaraderie was effortless. Sushi chefs were still cracking jokes and throwing fish, the host and bartender were running drinks and food, food and drinks were still coming out looking amazing; everyone was still smiling. It was super pleasant. Thank you Sushi Dokku for an amazing experience. I can't wait to see you again the next time I am in Chicago.

after we moved from New York, it took my wife and I about two years and over 15 different sushi places to find Sushi Dokku. This is hands down (IMHO) the best sushi restaurant in Chicago. ...and the bar downstairs is a great hidden gem while you wait for your table.

Sushi dokku is always amazing. Huge thanks to chef Zac for enhancing our dining experience. Warning, don't go to sushi dokku if you don't want all other Japanese ruined for you! This place is the best place to get sushi in Chicago.

My favorite sushi spot in the west loop! I love the atmosphere and music. Only place I can have some excellent sushi and listen to hip hop and other great music. Drinks are great. Great for lunch, dinner with a date or friends. Can't go wrong with Godzilla or Dragon roll. Tofu salad is awesome and scallops are always perfection here. Saketini is refreshing but can creep up on you, FYI.

I was distraught when Sushi Wabi closed but Sushi Doku has more than made up for Wabi's closing. Superb staff, divine menu, sexy ambience and stellar service and in the neighborhood. Don't forget to visit downstairs after hours. Off the chain. Thank you Sushi Doku. Dee Alexander

What a gem! We came here for date night, food was absolutely delicious. We sat at the sushi bar and it was the best decision. Fish was super fresh and their sauces were super flavorful. Staff were all very attentive and accommodating, service was great and ambience was very date night vibes. Must try the matcha cheesecake.

Met a friend on a lovely summer afternoon to sit on the patio at Sushi Dokku for cocktails and a few small bites. Always fresh and interesting! My personal favorite is the Tuna Truffle Nigiri, but you can’t go wrong with any selection…and their Sake selection is out of this world!

Went downstairs to the Booze Box Lounge. It was (as assumed) quite busy! We had to wait nearly 1hour for a table for 4, but had a fun time nonetheless. It was definitely loud, hampering any conversation and service was slow because of the quantity of people. But the drinks were great and the food was delicious!

They were fully booked on their reservations page, but we went there to get on the waitlist and turned out there were many tables available, so I would try even if the page is full. Great sushi and quality, the scallop nigiri bites is delicious! Our highlight. We also tried the spinach salad which turned out very tasty, and I highly recommend the takoyakis. The miso salmon roll and the dragon are also very good. Large portions, nice cocktails, fair price! Definitely coming back!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by the friendly staff. The inside of the restaurant was bustling and packed, but luckily we were able to snag a table on the charming outdoor patio which was cozy and inviting. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled with the variety of options available to me on the menu. Our server was incredibly accommodating to my dietary restrictions and offered helpful suggestions. I ordered the Godzilla roll with sweet potato tempura, which was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. The shiitake and eggplant sashimi was also a delightful surprise that I would highly recommend. The food was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dining experience. Overall, Sushi Dukko is an exceptional restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious sushi and exceptional service. Thanks for a great meal! Value - expensive Ambiance - relaxing in the patio Service - good Taste - good Overall - I recommend ♥️

The menu has so many good different options and please, takoyaki for appetizer is a must! The maki rolls were well served but I particularly loved the chef dressed nigiris. I am still dreaming about the Tuna Truffle. If you’re looking for “all you can eat on a budget” and don’t care about quality, maybe this is not the place for you. Just be aware that some plates might take longer but I guess that was ok considering it was a busy Friday night dinner. I will come back to taste the rest of the menu for sure!

Great spot for a casual sushi lunch or dinner. The best part is they typically have availability for walk-in which is rare in the west loop area. The sushi tastes fresh and they’re pretty quick to get your food to your table for when you’re feeling just a tad hangry 🫢

My son has been wanting to take us to Booze Box for a very long time. It was definitely worth the wait. I loved the entrance in the alley with the nondescript arrow, then walking downstairs into a small and intimate space. Cory was our server and provided friendly, entertaining and attentive service. We met two of the nicest bartenders, Neven, and Johnny. So personable and friendly! Our table of four started out with cocktails then the magic began. My son CJ has been here many times, so he took the reins and ordered a variety of sushi dishes, shishito peppers and gyoza. Unfortunately, I don’t know the names of everything he ordered, but I do know each taste was full of flavor, fresh and innovative. I literally savored each and every bite. Johnny the bartender gave us complimentary shots of his special blend cocktail. How nice was that? If it’s not on the menu, that cocktail should be. To end the meal, we shared the green tea cheesecake - so good! This dining experience was everything my son said it would be, no exaggeration. The food is creative and artistic and delicious. The atmosphere is intimate. I definitely want to go back to experience this again. I highly recommend Booze Box for cocktails and delicious eats. Fabulous!

All three of us in my party LOVED our food. Service was excellent. We dined in at the Booze Box downstairs. Spicy maki tuna rolls, salmon and albacore rolls and tuna truffle nigiri were excellent. Gluten free menu available. Everything I wanted was on the gluten free menu and they had gluten free soy sauce!

We first ate at Sushi Dokku (and have continued to do so since) in August 2022. We sat on the patio with a friend and had a great experience. The restaurant is laid back and it was very enjoyable being outdoors. The servers are all quite friendly and attentive with refilling water and getting more drinks or food. We ordered quite a variety over our visits but our favorites are the Dressed Oysters (get them dressed, it's worth it), the Hot Daisy, and the Miso Salmon rolls. Both are flavorful and have a nice kick to them. Sushi Dokku has turned into our go-to place in West Loop for sushi and it never disappoints! I highly recommend anyone go here for a fantastic meal.

My husband and I had reservations for Booze Box, the speakeasy bar below Sushi Dokku. The chicken gyoza came out a bit cold, but everything else was incredible. We shared the Dragon and Hot Daisy rolls, which was the perfect amount of sushi. The DJ came on around 8:15 and the lowfi vibes were immaculate. The service was amazing and we look forward to coming back.

Everything here was awesome. The food, cocktails, service, atmosphere. I truly enjoyed it all. The staycation cocktail was fabulously balanced. The rolls were fantastic and so were the scallop bites, I would highly recommend those. The green tea cheesecake was fantastic for dessert. I loved the hot brownie crust with the cold cheesecake topping was so good! I loved this place

My favorite Chicago restaurant. Shishito pepers, salmon, dragon roll, edamame and Gin shinsen (or 2). You will not go wrong. I ordered this probably 50 times in the last 3 years. I dream at times about thier dragon roll 🤣 Every time I go there I start thinking about opening my own Dokku franchise. Dokku 😍🥰🤩

I been to both sushi dokku and booze a handful of times and I love them both! The street food style menu and the creative cocktails are so good! Booze box has a great speakeasy like vibe, with its music and lighting! Great place to stop by after dinner or even for after work drinks and apps!
