Very nice soup and sandwich place in core downtown. Authentic Italian taste and very friendly staff. Perfect for brunch or lunch. Their gelatos are delicious.
The gelato is SO good and the flavors are very interesting! I encourage anyone to stop here sometime in the summer to cool off with quality food, or have a cup of coffee in the winter. The servers are very nice and both times that I have been here, the owner has stopped by to my table to ask how I liked the food. Dedication to good food and good service is very appreciated!
Lovely coffee and well-priced gelato. Unfortunately, many flavors were out when we visited. Cookies aren't great (drier, crumblier than what I prefer). It's nice they have seating outside though know the L prevents this from being a quiet, peaceful spot.
Amazing service. Manager was very kind and made sure we enjoyed everything. Crepes and sandwiches were delicious. Handmade gelato was great. Coffee was good too! Would be a great place for studying, working, etc.
This is my go to place to have lunch when I'm in the city!
The owner Dominico is excellent! He really makes this place shine! His customer service is outstanding. He really knows how to make me feel like a valued customer.
Everything that I have tried here is yummy! The coffee selection is wonderful, and all of the gelato is homemade. The Nutella drink and gelato are especially good!
The prices are fantastic, especially considering the area. This makes a really nice little spot for lunch or an afternoon pick me up.
The location is clean and comfortable. The staff is also very nice. They are always so professional, accommodating, and kind!
Overall, this is a very cute and cozy little spot to visit for some coffee, gelato, or even just a little lunch if you are in the area.
Stopped in on a snowy Sunday morning for breakfast. A homeless man walks in, clearly freezing and miserable. The owner/manager comes over, and I'm thinking "oh gosh, this is going to be awkward, they're going to kick him out." Instead, the manager asks the man if he wants to sit down, then goes and brings him a muffin and hot tea. I've never seen anything like that. Simply made the rest of my day.
The food itself was fresh, delicious, and really really inexpensive. Breakfast combos were amazing. Had a scoop of gelato afterwards, which was delicious. Service was friendly and fast. Definitely worth stopping in for the food itself. But really, the management and practices truly impressed me. I would recommend the place to anyone.
On our way to the Art Institute we stopped in for a cup of tea. We thought about going to Starbucks but we're so glad we chose Gepade. We were delighted to be served with porcelain tea cups and individual pots on a tray. We also enjoyed a scone.
Everyone who ordered full meals were served individually and with great care.
We will be back for sure!

Very good coffee and lattes. They could use a better menu since it's hard to see/know what all they offer. But it has delicious pastries and good prices. Staff is very friendly and gives you fast service.
Uniquely Italian food ( not typical amer-italian), I am not Italian nor have I been to Italy, but the food feels authentic. The ingredients seem fresh and it takes time coming out of the kitchen (implying made at time of order ). I have had breakfast (combo 4 ) and lunch (pizza) both were great. The coffee is not as acrid as Dunkin or McDonald's. Overall a positive experience. Want to try gelato next...
I'd rate it 4.5/5. The sandwich I had was really good and the price was much better than other places in the loop. The gelato was rich and creamy and seemed to be made on location. I'll be back.
