Absolutely love love love this place. Been coming here since I was a student, I would get one dessert here for me and my friends to share after exams. They were a perfect choice for my wedding cake. Their team, Nicole especially, has been super helpful in the process of setting up a tasting, ordering my cake, picking a design, and coordinating the delivery. Highly recommend. Got a vanilla with marzipan and strawberry and chocolate with earl grey and orange marmalade. Both were delicious. Honestly loved all the flavors in my tasting, was so hard to choose two!!!

We knew we were in amazing hands when we told them our cake idea…and they got excited! The team was super organized, professional, and super easy to communicate with. We booked Vanille through a partnership with our venue, but I have experienced one of their afternoon teas before so I was super excited to know they would be making our cake! The tasting was a sugar filled dream (everything tasted so good), and the team was very informed and helpful. We showed them some inspiration ideas, our color palette and we worked together to create something that matched our vision. The fun part for us was instead of a classic cake topper, we used custom D&D mini’s—dragon included. Our cake designer was super sweet, and excited to play around with placements. We couldn’t have been more in love with our nerdy lil cake. We also think it’s genius that Vanille will create a 1 year anniversary cake, so we didn’t have to save the top tier. We can actually enjoy a fresh cake instead of a frozen old one. Thank you Vanille Team!

Was in Lincoln Park and walked by this super cute patisserie. The service was amazing- so friendly and helpful. We just wanted to try something so we got the coconut lime tart and a couple macarons- pistachio and coconut. The tart was good, I thought the macarons were ok. Would definitely come back!

Vanille created our beautiful and delicious wedding cake! We had a 3 tiered cake (vanilla cake with vanilla and rose custard and a layer of raspberry jam) and accompanying macarons for our gluten free guests. We enjoyed the process with Vanille - we had a cake tasting about 6 months before the wedding and we were able to choose 5 flavor options to taste in their shop. The flavor we ended up choosing was far and away the winner for us, and we had a short design meeting at the tasting as well.
The payment process was smooth and easy. While Vanille is not a budget option for wedding cake, we felt that the cake was a great value and were very happy with the outcome. They were very accommodating as we had to switch up our delivery window a few days before the wedding due to realizing we didn't have the fridge space to store the cake.

We discovered this patisserie by chance, when seeking refuge from the Windy City's wind and chill. The homemade hot chocolate was absolutely delicious, as was the "Oliver", which we ordered to go. Adorable seating and helpful staff completed a pleasant experience!

This place is phenomenal. Customer service is excellent, with real attention to the customer in front of them. Overall one of my new favorite places that I will be visiting frequently. It is a little drive out from me, in the suburbs, but well worth the trip. My wife and kids really enjoyed the macaroons. Definitely recommend trying out this place.

There wasn't one thing that I disliked about my order and how it came out. They did even a better job than the picture I sent them. And it also tasted delicious. One of the best local gems in Lincoln Park, the cinnamon coffee cake is my absolute favorite. On a nice day, you can choose to sit outside, otherwise, there is plenty of seating indoors. With the conversion of the Starbucks across the street, to pickup only; I will only be ordering from here from now on. Highly recommend stopping by with family or friends.

I've been there twice now, and each time I had a very pleasant experience. The first time I just stopped and after eating lunch at the pizza grinder (as it's right across the street), and just loved all the macarons and other pastries on display. The second time I went to was a planned teatime for my birthday, and it was so lovely. A friend of mine & I got to sit an enjoy gourmet tea and pastries freshly prepared for us, which lasted an hour and a half, so we got to try different flavors (which you can mix), and really had a very lovely time. They sit you in a small room, where you have some privacy from main cafe traffic, and overall it just feels very classy and a perfect way to celebrate a 40th birthday. I included some pictures, too. After taxes, the tea time option we chose costs like $40 a person, but our tummies were so full by the end of it, I felt like I had just eaten a full 5 course meal...and my friend says she felt the same.

Vanille was great to work with for our wedding cake. We had a smaller layer cake for us and sheet cake for our guests and both were delicious! The cake looked beautiful too and was the perfect compliment to our special day. We also had assorted mini pastries that all hit the spot. The chocolate tartes were my favorites!

Me and my best friend went a couple weeks ago for thier afternoon tea party. By far the best experience I've had. The ladies thier were so sweet. We sat in our private room which was very elegant and warm. We enjoyed our great selection of tea and pasteries. Definitely a place to go if your in the area.

I was with a party of 11 that reserved your tea room on Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Your place on North Clark was lovely and smelled wonderful. Loved the sandwiches/quiche as well as your scones. Your pumpkin spread and lemon curd spread for the scones were scrumptious. We would have bought several jars if they had been made available. I paid $7 for a cupcake that was dry and didn't even taste like real red velvet. The frosting was disgusting as well, I had to scrap it off to even eat the cupcake it was that bad.

I had such a lovely experience at Vanille. My friends and I had afternoon tea in their private room. The tea, sandwiches and pastries were delicious and almost too pretty to eat! Our server was so friendly and patient with us. We look forward to our next visit.

Slow service! Not enough staff for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Waited 15 mins to buy a cupcake. Then told it had to be out at room temp for 30 mins prior to eating.....kids were miffed to wait! Way too much icing on top that was very hard even after 30 mins. But she itself moist and loosely.

This place is amazing, their food is amazing, and I know there is a woman named Leslie who is just the flippin best. Great service and they are super friendly. They can make just about any cake you want and I swear on bass god the taste will make you dream about it for weeks. Last time I had the cake I believe my cousin try to take the last slice and they almost caught a some hands. This cake is worth fighting for real talk. Go there for the best French dessert in the Midwest!!!

It was mine and my husbands first time there as we were out in Chicago for our anniversary. It was a slow Thursday evening so we received service instantly. We got a cupcake, a sugar cookie, a pumpkin cheesecake and a vanilla mousse cake to go along with a small hot chocolate and small mocha . Everything was delish! I would definitely go back and I have a new love for French sweets!

We used Vanille Patisserie for our wedding at South Branch Chicago on August 15, 2015. It was a pleasure to work with Chandra, who was very responsive to emails, and of course made us a wonderful cake for our wedding. Our cake tasting at the Lincoln Park location was fantastic, and allowed us to communicate exactly what we were looking for to Chandra. The final product, while small and simple in design, was nonetheless wonderfully elegant, classic, and of course tasted amazing, as well. In addition to all this, the price point was very easy to fit in our budget - which is always important when organizing a wedding. We were thoroughly impressed with Vanille Patisserie, and would highly recommend them for any future events.
