Everything was great, including the atmosphere and the staff. Our server Andrew was so friendly and accommodating, the drinks were made well and the food was delicious, I ordered the branzino and was not disappointed…I highly recommend this place!

TFR is one of my favorite restaurants in chicago. The food and the presentation is amazing. The personal is very nice and honestly is my (easy option ) when I don’t want to think in a new place and I want to have really good food and atmosphere.

Ben and I celebrated our anniversary here ❤️ and instead of going to river north for food before going to fireworks in Navy Pier we walked slightly further to Franklin Street. SUPER worth it
Incredible meal where everything was super well executes. We finished all dishes : steak, huge seared scallops, tuna crudo, mixed cocktails, and an off-the-menu extra toasted pavlova with raspberry sorbet

We were overwhelmed with restaurant options when planning our Chicago trip (from NY!) and we’re so glad we decided on The Franklin Room! It’s cozy and quiet and has a really great ambiance— and the food and service were even better! We got the oysters, steak tartare, scallops (for me) and the pork chop special (my husband). Ended with a chocolate mousse dessert and some gelato. Great meal/experience!

This restaurant is a gem in the area. I appreciate the prohibition ambiance and the staff are all so good at everything they do. The food is exceptional and each dish has a wonderful balance of flavors. The cocktails were well done with a little something for everyone's taste. Truly one of the strongest cocktail menus I have experienced in the city. The bar tenders were super talented with whipping together drinks if you wanted anything off the menu as well. Also, it's important to mention, this place has one of the most extensive whiskey selections I have seen in Chicago.
I really enjoyed the rib eye and steak tar tar but honestly I got to sample quite a few dishes and I think anyone would be pleased with anything on the menu. I am also fond of the mushroom tartine and the oysters. The oysters come with a yuzu mingiontte and a Thai sauce that really push the enjoyment to the next level. The Chef, Namo Chowcharoen is wonderfully talented. His love and appreciation for his customers really shows up in his food. All of the ingrediants are chosen with care and always at high quality for the right taste. Each dish is thoughtfully created with a combination of cooking techniques and spices that really puts the food at the Franklin Room at a different level. There is depth and there isn't a single thing on the menu that is one note, which I find to regularly be a problem with American fare . He makes it easy to support him in his craft.
I am excited to return to The Franklin Room for another meal and I often tell friends about it. I fully belive you will find food to enjoy here and want to come back.

The sauce the mussels came in was hearty. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The staff was friendly, helpful, and expedient. Would recommend to anyone visiting Chicago.

Just visited on Saturday for dinner and the experience was amazing! Jean was super attentive and welcoming. We loved the scallops and butchers cut. Definitely will come back for more whiskey boys!

Servers were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and drinks list and gave excellent recommendations after listening to your tastes and preferences. Food is incredibly well prepared and good value for the money. Their specialty whiskey selection is a reason to keep going back

We were in Chicago from Mexico City to celebrate our 10th anniversary and got complimentary sparkling wine glasses. Excellent ambience and service. The food is great and their whisky selection is one of the most complete I've seen, it's the bar's specialty no doubt.

We've been here a couple times. Intimate ambiance; delicious food. Staff was very professional and courteous. Excellent recommendations for food and wine pairings. We had the Mussels for an appetizer; they were phenomenal (make sure to get an extra baguette to soak up the delicious sauce). The Salmon and the Sea bass were cooked perfectly. The Mango cheesecake, served with mango sorbet, is out of this world.
