Review Foodlife - Chicago

German Guzman
When you are in a group and it is difficult to decide for different tastes, food life in Chicago offers you in one place, hamburger, pasta, pizza, meat, Asian food, natural juices among others. One of my favorite places in Chicago, I leave my photo of some noodles with vegetables with chicken and to finish a brownie with a coffee prepared by Ashley in the dessert area. Reasonable prices, gourmet cuisine, and excellent service, a 5 star place.

Awesome selection of food, stir fry, to bbq, Chicago dogs, soup, and more, just help yourself. Good spot for the family to get a bite to eat while shopping, everyone can get what they want! You should check it out.

Foodlife is a neat little place in the Water Tower that has different Lettuce Entertain You restaurants. If you choose self serve, you get a card that you use at the different stations, and then when you leave you pay at the exit and they use the card to see everything you got. There's M Burger, Chinese Express Big Bowl, Big Bowl's stir fry, and a few others. It's a great place for when you and your friends want to go out together but eat different things.

BEST FOOD . Hands down . I love coming here . The food is ALWAYS delicious and hot . I love the style, it is similar to buffet style but a more modern efficient way. I love how there is a variety of food . Clean facility. Friendly staff . Will definitely return !

It's great pasta and Parmesan chicken. One of my favorite places to go to in the area. It's affordable and the noodles are freshly cooked for you. Great place for people who love Italian food but don't want to spend ridiculous amounts.

Not your average food court, very clean and fresh food

This food court is a great place for those who like variety if cuisines to choose from. There's everything from American burgers, Italian pizza, Chinese ride plates, Mexican burritos and some other eclectic and unique cuisines. I won't let the cat out of the bag here so that you'll have some incentive to check this place out. The food quality is ok, nothing fantastic about it. I particularly enjoyed the stall that was selling soups. A great way to warm up on a cold day, great flavours and a special selling point that will make you coming back for more. Just a word of warning, if you are a vegetarian, there might not be too many choices for you. And if you're looking for fish dishes, you only have one or two choices at best. Other than that, this place is great! Check it out if you're in the area. The prices are quite reasonable too!

I've been going here since I was a little girl, with my dad and it has never disappointed although the cost of dining is a little outrageous for sure it was worth it. The "split roasted chicken" ( with bbq sauce) was absolutely amazing wow! The cooks in that area were so nice and friendly, the made sure I knew my options and that i was getting quality service. 👌🏽

Amazing variety of foods here. The desserts are amazing, and the amount of stuff here is great. From stir fry, to Big Bowl Chinese food, to soups, to American food, to Mexican and Italian food, they truly have it all here. Payment is easy, it's all on a card that the people scan, and you pay at the end.

You never can go wrong with Foodlife. I have been going for years and have never had a bad meal nor bad time. I took a friend today who had never been and she was extremely impressed with the prices and selection. I just love you don't have to pick just one type of food to eat you can mix and match to fit all your taste buds.

This is a great place to go with a lot of people. There is a huge variety and everyone can get what they want. While it can get loud and it's a bit dark, it's a nice casual place to get some good food. The workers are pretty nice, too. Last time I was there the chef at the stir fry counter kept cracking jokes!

Ohhh, Foodlife. How I missed thee. Being Natives of Chicago, but no longer residents, we always try to visit when we return to the city. We had our rehearsal dinner here, so it's very dear to our hearts. With that being said, the food was good, but some not as good as our last visit. I'm chalking this up to the time of day we went. It was later in the evening, about an hour from close. Always satisfied with the portions and the pricing is still pretty reasonable for the plate sizes that you get. If you've never been, it's like a food court in the sense that there's something for everyone, but the quality is muuuch better. Definitely visit if you're in the downtown area.

Last weekend was my first time at foodlife and it will most likely be my last. Our experience was pretty poor from start to finish. We started by waiting in one line while watching person after person walk by in a separate line. When we asked what the difference was between the two lines, the host rolled his eyes as if we should automatically know the ins and outs of this restaurant. After being seated, we chose the Italian place to eat, where it took 10 minutes for the man working to even acknowledge there was a line growing. After I made my selection (my second choice after my first was out), it took another 10 minutes (and a number of times the man working rudely told people where the line started) for my slimy Caprese sandwich to be made. Which then led to all of the options on both of the soda machines being out. I get it. Stuff runs out. But you would think, for the number of people who appeared to be working there, that someone would at least say "Yes, we know nothing works, but please give us a second and we'll have it fixed." Instead, all you saw were groups of frustrated people standing around. When I asked for a knife (yes, simply a knife) I was told it should be on my table, and if it wasn't, I could go to the bussing station and find one myself. On top of annoyance after annoyance, I noticed a 7.5% auto gratuity on my check. I could not believe how asinine it was that I was forced to give a tip after such a frustrating restaurant experience. This place may be good for tourists who don't know any better, but I would recommend pretty much any other restaurant downtown than for people to have the experience I had.

The comfort food station is to die for!!! The meatloaf dinner I had brought tears of pure joy. The macaroni was wett (Michigan slang for good beyond words) and my God those mashed potatoes...I will definitely be back

Have loved this place since I can remember. I've always made it tradition to go around the winter holidays, have a pleasant eating experience, and afterwards take my then young kids, and my siblings on a carriage ride around the corner! When I have visitors from out of town, I bring them here, and always the food and service is excellent! This is a great concept, and would be suitable for places like Woodfield Mall, or somewhere thriving in the suburbs! Something to think about guys!

I have been to Foodife several times, and have enjoyed it very much. I have been there for special events and always ate in the private room. The service has been excellent and the food is very, very good, the portions are amazing. Whenever we have guests in town, I will be taking them to Foodlife and have them enjoy the great service and the wonderful food. That baked potato station is my favorite along with the comfort food, stir fry and the desert.

I love love love this place. Their food selection is awesome. Their staff are ALWAYS friendly. Food is always fresh and re-filled. Prices are comparable to any buffet style setting. I always come here to eat with my daughter(& her friends) when we go to Water Tower.

Love the idea of all my favorite foods in one place. The potatoes are my favorite. I go for my birthday almost every year. I always leave full and with some food to go.

Not fast, not good. Stood in line for a good 10 min before being acknowledged by the single server at Big Bowl. He was too busy cooking food that no one was waiting for. I was the only one in line, 1:40pm Mon Sept 15. Not even rush hour. After a few minutes I loudly, and politely, asked if I could order, he told me no, I had to wait until he was done, and that other people were waiting for their food. Turns out there was a couple sitting at a close table. But, also as it turns out, they weren't waiting for what he was cooking. He was just cooking random food. While I was waiting, someone who appeared to be a FoodLife manager came in, got a fork, and grabbed food right out of the pan. No, he didn't put his dirty fork right in, but it was still completely unprofessional and RUDE.

I've live in Chicago all my life, I remember when this restaurant first came about. I've recent had a terrible experience. I went to order a slice of pizza at about 8:15pm, 6.18.16 Water Tower location & I politely asked were they still open? ; since everyone was sitting around talking and eating pizza directly in front of me with there bare hands. I assumed maybe most of them were on lunch, until one of the guys licking his own hands after finishing pizza, went to grab my slice of pizza for me. I then stated to him, hey don't you think you should wash your hands 1st. since you're kicking your fingers directly in front of me,"the customer" as I also have a little OCD, he laughed and stated if that's the case you shouldn't eat here because I made all the pizzas with my hands. All of them!. I couldn't believe that a safe Serv. certified employee would have no concern or respect for the consumer. This ruined my entire night yesterday, I got a refund & I couldn't get over the nastiness of the employee. From a restaurant I thought I absolutely adored.

nothing like waiting in line at an empty joint, with no one serving people, for overpriced cafeteria food, under heat lamps for who knows how long...

Was there over the weekend. We were searching for nut allergy friendly ice cream after Ghirardelli and M Burger couldn't serve due to allergies. Foodlife came to the rescue! They told us they could serve my little guy vanilla ice cream (his fave!) and took the scooper to be washed in hot water to help prevent cross contamination. Thank you for accommodating our son's allergies. We really appreciate it!

Lugar agradable, muy concurrido, mientras esperas la barra es una excelente opción, las pizzas te dejarán satisfecho, sólo la salsa para mi gusto algo fuerte

I enjoyed having all the different options to choose from. Everything I had was delicious.. Lake and spinach salad.. avocado, pecans, onions This was to die for and it was a whole lot. I also had their mean green juice drink Apple, cucumber, spinach and kale. Then I had fried chicken (It was so pretty) rice and gravy. That gravey reminded me of when I was a little girl, momma's gravey. Lol I also had a turkey burger with sea salt fries. DID I MENTIONED THE KEY LIME SHAKE? OK SO YOU SEE EVERYONE THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. But it's better if you are with a group of 50 price wise.
