This place is really good. Service was super on point-all the waiters were not only super friendly and accommodating, but went out of their way to help you choose what to order (since it was a build your own burger-style menu), but also brought me extra seasonings and sauce upon request for my burger and fries.
The burger was good-thick patty, juicy, good flavor. Fries were solid and crispy, and with their house made seasonings they gave me made it a really solid experience. Sriracha Mayo is definitely a must try with the fries, as is the ghost pepper seasoning (if you can handle spicy) and the curry seasoning. Interior decor was also on point, had very good vibes all around. Definitely recommend if looking for a solid, customizable burger in a nice setting.

Recently discovered just how pivotal the patty is to a great burger. The house blend patty here stands out with its exceptionally rich, meaty flavor and superb texture – easily the finest I've tasted in any burger.

This place is a make your own burger spot, so they have many varieties to choose from (even down to the seasoning on the burger). Whatever toppings you choose, make sure to get the truffle mayo. That was delicious on the fries and burger.

Great neighborhood spot for lunch or dinner. Prices are a bit high for it being a burger place, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend the fries and any one of the fun dipping sauces. The burgers are so fun to customize and it’s nice to have healthier options like turkey or salmon burgers seasoned however you like with a lettuce bun.

One of the best burgers I have ever had, the importance is the meat quality and the chargrill flavor, this place nailed it. I like the serving style as well l, everything on a chopping board including the ice creame. The menu is not too huge and you won't have difficulties choosing, but whatever you choose you can't go wrong, including the Lentils burger.

I had a burger with a grass fed patty and really enjoyed it. It was high quality, fresh, cooked to perfection. The cashier/server also gave me a few complimentary potato chips. They are made fresh in house, and were absolutely stunning - light, buttery, and practically melted in my mouth.
It's fairly pricey for a burger joint but the quality and service make up for it.

Decided to try because my fiancé love burgers and we saw this place has a great rating on google. These are now at the top of his list. The fries are so good and the burgers was so good we ordered two more to go. The prices are higher than other burgers but it’s worth it.

Been making a conscious effect to support more local businesses instead of supporting chain restaurants. I wanted I good burger , so I decided to check this place out.
This restaurant has some of the BEST FRIES THAT IVE EVER HAD & the garlic pickle is to die for!!!!!
The burger and lemonade was also AMAZING!!!! Skip Five guys, Epic Burger , and McDonald’s and come straight to Butcher & the burger 😋 !

I was blown away by the amount of burger options here. Lots of choices of beef as well as toppings and spices. My burger was delicious, perfectly cooked, and came on a pretzel bun per my request (my favorite kind of bun). I got fries too and they were very tasty. I'd put this up there as one of the best burgers I've eaten in Chicago. Highly recommended.

I'm Back! Butcher & The Burger is still worth the 5 hour trip from MPLS! I told my folks that I didn't need teeth to devour my burger. The restaurant is clean and always well staffed. The cashier was helpful and knew how to handle any newbie with the menu. I knew what I wanted so I was all good. I will be back. I promise! My burger: Split Top Bun, Duck Egg, Grilled Mushroom's, Caramelized Onions, Pepper Jack Cheese, Cajun Spice Blend, House Blend Ground Beef, and Truffle Mayo. cost with fries and unsweetened tea was $30.

We ordered the bespoke burger, the American burger with truffle mayo and umami flavor, a large fry, and the potato salad. Because there were more selections mentioned when I first looked at the menu online, the menu in person was a little unclear to me. We had three sides since the truffle mayo was so excellent. Also wonderful was the potato salad!

One of my favorite spots in the city for a burger. They customize everything from the spices in the patty to the toppings and the bun type. I haven't found a combination that was anything short of mouth watering. You can taste the char flame on the edges on the burger!

I saw this place from the street while biking between jobs. It was lunchtime and i was hoping to find a good burger joint. And i did.
Everything was really good: the decor, the service, the music, the burger. And I have to say, the fries were the best I've had in Chicago to date, and the ketchup was awesome. All of the spices and flavors were quite good. My only complaint was the bun. It had the consistency of a buscuit, not bread, so it fell apart after one bite, making for a messier eating experience than I like.

When you come in you see this almost rustic style decor. The cashier right away greeted me and welcome me to the place (not bad for a first impression). Not only was he polite, he was enforcing the no mask, no service. I ordered the sirloin burger on a pretzel bun to see if the was a difference in taste from the regular beef. To my surprise, the only difference was the price. Dont get me wrong, the burger was great! It was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The cashier recommended some sauce to go with the pretzel bun and buy was he right. That sauce complimented the pretzel bun very well. The fries were different in a good way.

My partner and I were hangry after being left disappointed by the lines at the Taste of Chicago, so we decided to stop by someplace new on our way home to give ourselves our own celebration of our city's food. Butcher & The Burger was very unassuming when we went (4:30PM on a Saturday, no line to get in). The staff asked us if it was our first time and helped us through their menu and their options.
We were excited when we heard that their fries were deep fried in pork lard (might've been beef, I blacked out from hunger once I heard that). Fear not, vegetarian/vegan friends, they have non-animal based oils for their fries as well.
There's a $15 lunch deal that runs from 11AM to 5PM that includes a basic patty, fries, and a coke and, honestly, that was a steal for what I will call one of THE BEST burgers I have ever had.
To top it off, once we were finished and cleaning up, one of their burger artists came out to personally ask us how we found it. They really seem to love what they do and care about how their customers perceive them and enjoy their food. Kudos to a wicked great find!

Friendly service and delicious build your own burgers. The fries are thick and have a good portion. I did salt and pepper grass fed beef with a pretzel bun, truffle mayo, Swiss, caramelized onions and pickles. It was bomb. Next time will try the spice blends!

This establishment has become a Lowkey favorite of mines out of the whole Lincoln park neighborhood. There prices are perfect, and food is always made fresh to order. They might actually have the juiciest turkey burgers you ever tasted. 😋. With an endless amount of topping combinations you can customize yourself.

Intense layers of flavor within simple, delicate textures make your meal at Butcher & the Burger the single best Chicago burger experience. Don't miss this spot! Bison burger topped with spicy mayo and a fried egg, grass-fed beef with goat cheese and tomato, the combinations are endless and your palate will be forever changed.

My husband and I live in MO. We are so disappointed this place isn't closer to us. We vote it literally the best burger we've ever had. We recommend opening a new spot in Saint Louis! Like I said before, this is legitimately the best burger joint ever!!!!

I ordered to go and decided to stay on the patio. My food was very delicious. My Burger was exactly how I ordered it and the fries was very good. I loved my customer service. I definitely will come back and tell my friends.

I ordered the chupacabra which was the featured burger. The quality of the meat was exceptional and all the ingredients, you can taste the grill in every bite (in the best possible way). But the best part were the fries… seriously they were made to perfection kudos to the chef. I just give them a 4 starts because the meat was a little bit plain and could use an extra pitch of seasoning. Other than that I'm coming back very soon

The burgers selection can be cumbersome st first but you get to create your own taste. Amazing taste to the burger I choose. The beignets were not what I expected but I believe it was just the batch we ate. The service was great, fast, and they remembered that we had ordered food to go. Will definitely come back again.
