The kind of place one selfishly wishes was a secret. Probably the best breakfast(s) I've had - at least in memory. Friendly sincere service, outstanding food, great music, perfectly mind numbing drinks all in a casual authentic Luncheonette "setting."

It was as good as the reviews say it is. The food was top notch and the drinks wonderful. The menu is a bit high on the uppity scale and price, but very good. This is not a greasy spoon, but excellent nonetheless in its trendy, upscale way.

It was on my bucket list at the very top now I can scratch that one off. Moving up to number one on the list is death because I just experienced Heaven at Doves Luncheonette. No need to live any longer.

Absolutely phenomenal. Flew in from Dallas for a few days and I'm so glad we stopped here in Wicker Park. The adobo pork chop was fantastic and the fried chicken was to die for. I'll definitely stop back by next time I'm in Chicago.

There are many great breakfast places fishing up the standards- Dove’s chose to blaze its own path with a menu that is wholly original and deeply, deliriously delicious. The Tlayuda was a giant tostada slathered in bean paste with grilled squash and cheese and arugula and scrambled eggs on top. Also recommend the Burnt Ends Brisket Hash and the Taco Noteno. We couldn’t let it go at just one dish so we split the apple butter French toast. All this serves with smiles and alacrity in a milieu straight out of the best 70s nostalgia. Unmissable.

Visiting Chicago; friend recommended this place. This is probably my favorite spot I’ve been to in town. Atmosphere was great—comfy diner vibe with a jukebox, b&w photos and old posters on the wall; my placemat had a picture of agaves being processed. I loved it. I had the Taco Norteño and it was incredible with the salsa macha that was already on the table. Thank you Maxwell for the great conversation and great service! I came for breakfast so I didn’t order spirits or cocktails but next time I visit Chicago, I will definitely come back here! Can’t recommend enough!

This place was amazing. Get the fried chicken. The sauced for the fried chicken were a perfect fit. We also ordered the burnt ends. Just be prepared for a lot of food on the burnt ends (potatoes/toast are filling). Sauce for burnt ends was also very special. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

I tried the chicken fried chicken for lunch, and my friend tried the burnt ends hash — both great! We especially liked the fried chicken. The diner interior was cozy, and they hit the Tex Mex vibe and flavor!

A great spot for breakfast/brush/lunch! The atmosphere was fun and inviting. It has an old school diner vibe and the service was top notch! The burnt ends hash was absolutely delicious! I can certainly see why this place frequently has a wait list, luckily we were told up to 30 minutes and we're seated within 5-10! The drinks were great as well, they have a selection of season appropriate cocktails or cocktails to go with your meal!

Dove’s is low key cool, with classic LPs spinning on the turntable and weird brown mugs that look like they were teleported from 1974. Had the burnt ends hash and it was wonderful. Delicious chunks of meat, potatoes and eggs. Check it out. Good stuff.

This place was recommended by Alexis, the bartender of Amaru. Amaru reputation is top tier, and I came with high expectations. Dove's didn't disappoint. I love how their breakfast has a unique Latin twist. I had the Taco Norteño. Flour tortilla was large, thick, and fluffy, almost as if it was a fat gordita. The cubed smoked brisket was tender and I love how some pieces had a small touch of its fat the made the brisket melt in your mouth. Overall it was a savory and bold taco. Next time I'm adding an egg to it and avocado. I also had the al pastor fries. For me it tasted like Cajun fries but nevertheless the fries were crispy and well seasoned. Next time I'm adding a chipotle aioli. To drink I had an agua fresca, watermelon. Tasted natural but I see why it has an option for mezcal which I'll add on next time. I'll be coming back!

Really good, cute diner. The pancakes were really tasty and had a very unique flavor. Also really loved the potatoes with the aioli sauce. The food was tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. It’s also right next to a train stop and in a really fun neighborhood!!

Fantastic breakfast and vibrant atmosphere. This is a great spot full of locals. It's very busy, so get there early. The food is pricey but worth it. I recommend the cornmeal pancakes.

Busy place on a Saturday morning! Our order took longer than what might be usual. Our waitress comped our beverages and thanked us for our patience. That was a nice surprise. The horchata latte was very good. I enjoyed the patty melt, although the bread was seriously toasted. Later in the day, I realized the toast has scratched the roof of my mouth and made it a little sore. The masa pancakes with mole syrup were amazing! The burnt ends hash was also very good.

The most surprisingly delectable breakfast diner I've been to in a while. I love their Mexican influenced take on "pancakes eggs and bacon". The portion sizes were generous and the flavors are bold. The syrup for the pancakes, can only be described as the feeling after a first kiss: light, sweet, flavorful with a magical hint of some spice that makes you think you Christmas pine. If you could capture the essence of maple syrup and Coquito that's what it's like. The corn bazed pancakes definitely have strong arepa-corn flavor, that I wasn't crazy about, but it was impressively bold. The bacon was great, the presentation was awesome. Will definitely reccomend. Come ready to eat.

Best breakfast I have had in Chicago so far. The burnt ends hash was amazingly cooked with both the potatoes and beef having a great texture and flavor. I also really enjoyed the hot sauces here. The atmosphere of this place is unique and comfortable with a great music selection. Definitely coming back here again to try the other dishes.

When planning a two day trip to Chicago to try different foods, this was on my list thanks to a Tiktok showcasing their two most popular dishes (also confirmed by our waitress). The Chicken Fried Chicken was pretty great, though I did expect more of a punch in flavor from the chorizo gravy. However, their fried chicken is a masterpiece of freshness, crispiness, and juiciness. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. The STAR of the show, and in fact of our ENTIRE trip, was the burnt ends hash. Tender pieces of pork belly, amazingly crispy and seasoned potatoes, a great yolky egg, and an amazing chipotle sauce. It was extremely full of flavor and our favorite dish from dozens of places we tried during our trip. 10/10 would come back just for this dish.

Rarely has a high google rating been more well deserved. The beef brisket taco was stunning. We’re into the second week of a U.S. tour, and it was the best dish I’ve had so far. An amazing piece of food. We also had the giant taco which was solid. Go to this place if you are ever in Chicago. Great food, great vibes.
