The Publican - Chicago - Photo album

An excellent spot for dinner. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth the stretch. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff was really friendly. I highly recommend the pork chop. It was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious, and the portion size was quite generous. The se
Great brunch on the weekends. I liked the shrimp and grits and waffle and croissant. Nice intimate booths for parties if 4. Happy to return.
Did you know that The Publican has happy hour M-F from 4 to 6 pm? Me neither until last week! Fantastic smash burgers, oysters, schnitzel, and beer all with reduced prices. Indoor and patio seating available. Definitely recommend!
The food, the service, chef’s kiss. The bartender made me a custom drink which was perfect. The food timing was perfect so they were staggering foods and all came out hot and fresh. The oysters were fresh flavorful; the beef frites was so delicious and didn’t even need the garlic aioli which made it
The food is out of this world. I came alone but wish I had a crowd to enjoy every dish with. This place is for foodies, down to the care the bar manager put into crafting a reallllly good espresso martini for me and the other basic girlies that wanna party. The food here is exquisite. Wow.
I had the best carrots of my life here. I'm not normally really into carrots, but I could eat these every day forever 😋 . Every dish was fire. A bit on the pricy side, but totally worth it for a special night out.
A solid choice when visiting Chicago. Have been a couple times and always good. Particularly like the fresh oyster selection and the porchetta & grits
Brunch for four at The Publican was awesome! We couldn't resist trying almost everything on the menu and decided to share it all among ourselves. And let me tell you, every single dish was just pure deliciousness! We had such a blast, sitting outside, enjoying the food and each other's company. Grea
Mixed feelings. I believe the take is to get brunch not dinner. They claim all is “family style” but some dishes are not shareable (like the cod). I left kind of dissaponted, while the food is tasty the portions are small to share for a high price. I don’t mind spending on a good dinner, but this on
Excellent cuisine (pork chop & porchetta)! Tasty cocktails & interesting wine list. Terrific service! Wish we lived closer because this place would be on a regular rotation!
The group I had dinner with almost slept on the fries, but I ordered some for the table and they were a hit. "These are the best fries I've ever eaten" was said immediately after eating the first one by my partner. The pork was so incredibly flavorful. I can't wait to return and dive into more of
The Publican is a really fun experience, especially if you do the chef’s menu and let them feed the table accordingly. We were able to try a wide variety of dishes, including some we never would’ve thought to order and really enjoyed them all! The porchetta was my personal favorite but every dish is
My boss had their cookbook and during lockdown we made the pickles and I fell in love! What a magically delicious meal! The service was incredible as well! I’ve waited years to try this place out (as I was living in NYC and recently moved to Chicago). Everything was just perfect! I’ll skip the des
Really good place. Dined with friends. Had a great time. Food was good, although my pork was a bit tough on first bite and I had to spit it out. Otherwise everything after that was fine.
We got the chef’s selection each for a party of 2. It was 8 courses, which we found to be a great value and extremely filling. Each course brought a good variety and we had a great experience. The only feedback I had was that the brussel sprouts were way too salty. I’d absolutely come back again.
An interesting interior and original fresh food. We were lucky to get a private booth. Service was very attentive. Highly recommend the waffle cherry compote dessert. Steaks and beet salad were also exceptional
As good as always, the new closed booths were a surprise I’d never seen and enjoyed. Delicious food all around and the salmon topped hash brown highlighted a great occasion at Publican. Always a meal worth looking fwd to when in Chitown
