Very nice restaurant. Three floors. We dined on the third floor where the long tables with the grills are. Before entering the dining area there's a place to leave the shoes but nobody does it, nice touch though. Service is very attentive and fast. Food is delicious. Starting with an amazingly flavorful miso soup to an exquisite dessert (forgot the name) Highly recommend. Seriously

Loved it! Came here on Saturday and did not wait as we had reservations for the 4 of us for 5:00pm. We went with the ultimate all you can eat which is worth every penny. You have 90 minutes from start to finish which is plenty of time. We were done within an hour as we were full and could not eat anymore. Skip the salads and go for the meats. Anything seasoned was very tasty. The chicken garlic noodles were so good so make sure to get those. Service was great and they were very quick. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It was a fun experience and we would definitely come back!

Came here yesterday to conclude my family vacation to Chicago and was surprised at the sets that were offered and cost effective compared to the branch in Hawaii. The giant mugs of beer made things better and my kids loved the s’mores after the main course. The level of service was great as well as the quality of the meats served. Thanks for a great meal!

Loved it. A bit too expensive....with tax & tip about $70 per person & we had 22 people. Got splatted with grill oil to face & arms when they were changing the grill but it was an accident & the waiter truly kept apologizing. Need to add more seafood than just shrimps for the price.

Very good food. Bring your friends and let the good times roll. The only thing I would say if start the timer when we actually get the meat to the table. Other than that. Super good!

Really good food and friendly staff. It was about $12 for each of us for lunch, but it was worth the price.

I recently dined at Gyu Kaku Japanese BBQ, and it exceeded my expectations. The all-you-can-eat option until 8:30 PM on Mon-Thu is a fantastic deal. We indulged in additional sides, with the Takoyaki and the must-try garlic fried rice being absolute highlights. The S'mores dessert added a fun and cute touch to the perfect meal. Reasonable prices make it a go-to spot, especially when hosting family from out of town. Gyu Kaku has become one of my favorite places to share the joy of delicious Japanese BBQ!

Amazing food. The kimchi was good the meats were all top quality and the veggies were good too. The marinades they recommend are good no need to add your own sauce. Tuna volcanos were to die for but did need some more sauce. The music is good and the teriyaki fish with ice cream was beautifully fried but doughy on the inside.

Both were fresh and delicious. I ordered the Beef Sukuyaki Fried Rice Bowl fantastic . Full of flavor. Wife ordered the beef Tongue and Toro Beef tasted great on the bbq! Shout out to Evee for the great service. A great culinary diversion from the norm. A must stop while dining in Chicago

Booked a table, but like everyone else, waited 15 minutes to be seated. But the food and atmosphere were great. This is a great place to have a good time.

There are so many vegetarian options. Wow! The cheese wontons are heaven. The spicy cucumber is so delicious. There are so many items to choose from I have to come back again soon to try out other options! Great service. Cool atmosphere. It made me miss Japan. Love this place. Great for a celebration or everyday dining.

My first time here and omg this restaurant is amazing. I went here for lunch with my family and it was very good. We all got the premium all-you-can-eat option. You can grill your food at the table or order main dishes. The grill option is much more fun. The food was very delicious, fresh, and came out very fast. The service was phenomenal too. The atmosphere is very urban and trendy which I loved. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because we reserved a table for 7 and we only had 1 grill. It took way too long to cook the food and we felt very rushed because we had a limited about of time. The grill is big enough for about 4 people max. We needed a 2nd grill. Next time I’ll know to request this but didn’t realize I needed too

My wife and I love going here whenever we're around the area and have some time. It's a tradition we started after we got married. This place is great! The food is awesome, the atmosphere is great and most of the staff is friendly and helpful. The last time we went (3/24/23), we had reservations. The place wasn't busy when we went and we did get seated right away. Overall it was amazing as always. The server could have been a bit more friendly as it seemed like he didn't want to be there, but he still did a great job. Not sure if they stopped but I remember when they changed the tops for the grill, they'd put a small coating of oil. Our server didn't add anything. So part of our food would get stuck to the top and fall apart when we went to flip it. My wife and I had the Chef's Choice. Plenty of meats for the both of us plus the rice, soup, and salad. We both finished it all and it was just the right amount. Not to much but not where we would leave hungry. Everything was extremely delicious. The meat was nice and tender, the rice had great flavor, and the broccoli and cheese was surprisingly great! Gyu-Kaku has been a favorite for my wife and I. We just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary there and look forward to spending more there in the future.
