We had our wedding at Osteria on 10/28/23 and it was absolutely amazing. We wanted a restaurant to eliminate number of vendors and also liked having an intimate setting that a restaurant provided. Osteria ended up being the perfect choice and has the most supportive and attentive staff and planning team to help. Any questions we had throughout the process, we usually received a response within the hour and the planning team of Natalie, Alison, and Katherine never missed a beat! As the event got closer, we got to meet with them more and they were so on top of every detail. The tasting was amazing and they were so willing to work with our requests, dietary needs, and meeting the minimum. Our other vendors found them easy to work with as well. During the actual wedding, my husband and I were so relaxed because Natalie made sure everything flowed properly and kept us on schedule, so we didn't have to worry about any issue or small detail at all. Our guests have still been raving about the excellent service and atmosphere, and cannot stop complimenting how amazing the food was. We really wanted to prioritize the venue, food, and fun, and that's exactly what we got with Osteria, all within an affordable package right in the middle of downtown Chicago! I couldn't be happier with the choice, and I am even more happy we have a delicious place to celebrate our anniversary now :) Thank you so much to the entire staff of Osteria via Stato for making our wedding the best day ever! (Hoping to share more pictures once I get them in)

Have your rehearsal dinner here - you won't regret it! We were seriously blown away by how accommodating, friendly, responsive, the staff were, and how smoothly the night went. The food was amazing and the wine was top notch. Our family who knows a lot about wine was seriously impressed. Osteria printed out our menus to our design wants and set up our space with the items we provided beautifully - and they genuinely seemed happy to do all of it. They were affordable for such a high caliber place and service. Can't thank you enough!

If you’re looking for a wedding that is cozy yet elegant this is the place for you. Natalie and Katherine were amazing coordinators and help us plan the perfect wedding. Nothing was “no we don’t do that” , answers were, yes we can do that. they made my job as the mom giving the wedding a breeze and made me look good. EVERYONE who attended said they have never been to a better reception. Food, Service, Staff, Drinks, all POINT ON!!! We couldn’t have picked a better place. Thank you all who help us have the perfect wedding. And it even rained a little… but no one cared.

I highly recommend the pizza of the month, I'm sure all the others are good as well but the home made sausage and mushrooms was WOW!!! Calamari was spot on, my son loved the spaghetti and meatballs, o and the garlic bread was delicious. We will be back the next time we make a trip to Chicago

We had our wedding after-party at this restaurant and it was awesome. The restaurant’s event planners, Natalie and Allison, were very resposive and accountable. We had several guests who had food restrictions but Natalie and Allison gave us helpful advice to manage the menu. Also the waiters were very friendly and professional. Our guests loved all the delicious food and beverages including bottomless Bellinis. (We ordered Italian Luncheon and Brunch Package for drinks) Also we ordered flowers from Flower for Dreams who have worked with Osteria Via Stato numerous times. I highly recommend this restaurant when you plan any events!!

Phenomenal! That’s all I can say. P H E N O M E N A L. Service, Ambience, cuisine. The restaurant was connected to a hotel, so you never know… but it was amazing. Everything was either phenomenal or at a minimum good.

I had the wonderful opportunity to dine at Osteria Via Stato for a business dinner. The servers were extremely attentive, accommodative, and lovely despite the massive party. The food was pretty solid! Firstly, the bread was phenomenal. It tasted fresh and NOT stale whatsoever. The accompanying garlic oil and cheese were also super delicious. The main standouts were the crispy potatoes and the cheese cake. The potatoes were light, yet crispy, and the cheese cake had a refined flavor from the ricotta. On the other hand - I wasn’t the biggest fan of the fillet mignon. It was a little dry for my liking, and I didn’t feel like the arugula salad was doing any favors. I felt like the dish needed a sauce to round out the whole plate. Overall, if you are looking for a place to accommodate a large party, Osteria Via Stato is definitely worth looking into!

We hosted the private chef's table for 15 guests for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. From our very first inquiry to the catering contacts until the last guest left we were thrilled by Osteria. They made everything easy, from customizing the menu, to answering all our questions, to being flexible about arrival and ending times, they went above and beyond. And the food was extraordinary! The pastas were particularly delicious and even though our menu included one dessert (a divine ricotta cheesecake) they served a stupendous chocolate tart as a chef special for no extra charge. All our guests, one of whom was a professional chef, and several of whom have lived and travelled abroad, raved about the entire experience. I recommend Osteria to anyone with a special event to celebrate.

Such a pleasure to dine in a good solid establishment that centers the experience around food and wine which in both cases was nothing short of remarkable. The service was attentive, quick and courteous. The space looks and feels cozy and expensive. Thoroughly enjoyable. Go! Enjoy!

Osteria Vias Stato is a decent restaurant for a casual Italian dinner. Nothing remarkable, but certainly not bad. The service was good, staff was friendly, and the atmosphere feels cozy. We enjoyed their Roman style pizza, which has a very delicate but tasty thin crust. My braised short rib was delicious and incredibly tender. My girlfriend was less impressed with her rigatoni pasta. She thought it tasted like slightly elevated Olive Garden. We decided to give it another try next time for a casual date night.

Not the best or the most impressive Italian restaurant I’ve ever dined in. The service is great, the vibe is good, the food is good too, just not impressive, not very Italian I guess. The owner may be authentic Italian, but I don’t think it’s the same for the staff too. The overall vibe here is still a little too“Americanized.” It’s a good restaurant, but if you’re looking for something that’s really Italian, this might not be the best option.

My husband and I hosted our wedding reception here and the service and food was excellent. Natalie and Allison were quick to respond to my questions via email. Our main waiter Mike was wonderful...he greeted our guests and offered drinks and put away their coats right away when they entered the room. The beverages like the selection of beers and chosen red and white wines were good and the wine was delicious. The waiters often approached our guests to offer beverages. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to host your intimate gathering.

Osteria Via Stato was the perfect place for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. The service was fantastic. They greeter our 45 guests with wine and offered additional beverages from the bar. The food was served family style and absolutely delicious. Everyone had plenty and we received many compliments from the guests. Allison & Natalie were fantastic to work with and attended to all the requested details as well as ones we did not anticipate like coat racks in the room since the weather turned dramatically colder that day. Thank you for making our event so special!

Arrived at around 6 on a weekend evening and were led to our table without a reservation. The waitress was nice and introduced the menu, as well as the special of the day. She was helpful and even gave us a complimentary drink because the bar made an extra one. We ordered a salad, a soup, pizza, and pan-fried white fish. Overall, the food was great, not very remarkable, but it was okay. It's worth mentioning that the mushrooms in the cream soup were fabulous, tasting fresh and delicious. The total price was around $70 for two (before tips).

Went here last week for a girl's dinner date. The ambiance was beautiful for a Friday night pasta dinner. When you walk in it's extremely busy in the front as the pizza kitchen is located just by the host stand, and it is typically pretty booked up in the evenings (from what I could tell). Thankfully we were taken to the still loud back room (because of a large wedding event taking place) but I was happy with our seats as we were kinda tucked away in the corner. I loved the lighting and all the candles. For to drink, I got an espresso martini. I am pretty picky about how these drinks are made and this one here is a must it was so so tasty. I will say it made me feel a little sick but that also could be because I was mixing the martini with a pasta dish LOL. For the starter, we got the garlic bread and it was so delicious. I wish we got 2 orders, as there were 4 of us, and only 4 slices of bread come in on order. They even heat the marinara which was a nice touch. For my entree, I went with the Cacio E Pepe which was so yummy! Very black pepper so if you don't like that I would steer away!!!! I love it, and the sauce had such a nice garlic taste as well. Overall I would go back, I think they should add a couple more pasta dishes to the menu.

My brother and I went here for his 21st birthday. We had never been here before and I can happily say we'll be coming back. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was so cool and yet elegant, and the staff and our waitress were very kind and helpful. We love Italian food and it was some of the best, if not THE best we ever had. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
