I went to Sunda last night with friends and family and had the best time! The ambiance was great, the food was insanely delicious, and the service was outstanding! We ordered so much food and it was all delicious. My favorite was “the great white” sushi, the uni, the adobo pork belly, and the ny strip lollipops. The wine we ordered too was very delicious and smooth, highly recommend—it was a cab called Napa Valley QUILT. Our server Nolan was awesome and provided a level of service out of this world—he made the experience so enjoyable and engaged with us a lot which we loved! We’re very grateful for the awesome experience we had. I highly recommend treating yourself to a great evening out to Sunda!

The food was amazing. Great for gluten and dairy free people. My only fault is they didn’t clear our dirty plates for clean ones when we had multiple courses and they couldn’t split a check three ways.

Delicious Asian food in the heart of river north. Despite the restaurant being super packed, service was excellent. The food was really good! Highly recommend the crab noodles and fried chicken bao buns. While the restaurant looks great, it is also super, super loud. Overall, we enjoyed!

I was in Chicago recently for a weekend girls’ trip. I made a reservation at Sunda kind of last minute to celebrate my friend’s birthday our first night there. Best decision ever. The energy was amazing as soon as we came in. We were late but the hostess was very accommodating. We were seated quickly and had the privilege of having Ezra as our waiter. He made this an AMAZING experience for us. First of all, the food came out quickly. We tried at least 6 things on the menu and they were all delectable (our favorite was the lump crab noodles and the tempura shrimp). We actually levitated out of our bodies. The drinks are very good too. Now on to Ezra. I love going to nice restaurants and have never had such wonderful, kind, charming, effective service. He made my friend’s birthday an unforgettable night by going above and beyond for us. We just had to sing his praises, and were able to speak to his manager Elena. She was also very kind and affable, which is a pattern at this restaurant. I let her know that I was shocked they weren’t packed out every night, but hey, more for the rest of us! It’s an “aesthetic” restaurant that actually has great food, is reasonably priced, plays good music, and provides great service. What more could you ask for?

If you like sushi and Asian food, you’ve got to try out Sunda! They have happy hour 4pm to 6pm got some hand rolls and apps for $6 each. The pork belly was my favorite. It comes with garnish that is actually kinda delicious. There’s some kind of vinegar dressing in there. The atmosphere was ambient with good music goi ng. Would definitely come here again

Brunch with the girls and we picked Sunda. I wished the brunch menu had more options. It was very small and didn’t have a lot of the things we saw online. We should have went on another day besides Sunday lol. But what we got was good! Just wish there was more to choose from.

The food was delicious and our server was fantastic. It is setup similar to a NYC style place with close tables so expect it to be a bit loud. The Wagyu lobster roll was amazing!

Highlights for me were the attentive, rapid service (constantly refilling my water) and the spicy edamame - SO addicting! The rest of our food and drinks were very good as well. The “crunchy hamachi” is not very crunchy and not what we expected but actually tasted delicious. We ordered a second Tale of Two Tunas since we enjoyed it a lot. I also liked the crispy spicy tuna. All the “spicy” things were mild enough for me to enjoy, given that I can barely handle any spice! The place is definitely elevated, fun, night out vibes. But the acoustics are terrible and it’s extremely loud just from people talking, no music, which detracts from the atmosphere. Also for a place with such quick table service, I was disappointed to see the bathrooms were GROSS and clearly not attended to! Lastly parking is difficult on a Saturday night but there’s always valet.

Sunda is one of my all-time favorites in Chicago! Have been going here for the past 10+ years and I’ve never been disappointed. I love the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, the Adobo Fried Rice, and the Tiger Shrimp Tempura. Service is always good and atmosphere is nice too.

Checked out Sunda in Chicago and it was a fun experience. Tried a variety of dishes from red dragon & rainbow rolls, good but nothing fantastic. Oxtail potstickers were different. The miso cauliflower was a hit. Lemongrass beef sticks were great, flavorful and soft. Crab butter noodles were ok, not much crab flavor mostly butter tossed noodles, expected more flavor. Tom yum said bass was amazing, probably the best fish I've had. Crispy rice was really good, great flavor and the bits of crunchy rice really added to the dish. The kamayan feast was a great sharing dish with a variety of foods that were very rich. The "Ridiculous" dessert was crazy good, I would go back just for the dessert.

Sunda offered a nice experience while celebrating a special occasion. It's a large restaurant and very lively. By that I mean it got very loud at times where you had to scream to talk to the person next to you. The food and drinks however was very good and offered great flavors. The LUXURY LYCHEE especially stood out w/ the drinks. From the dinner menu, the Crazy Rice was our favorite. We also had the Oax Tail Pot Stickers and LUMPIA.

Phenomenal experience dining here. Amazing service and atmosphere to tie in with the delicious food. Ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and half-half Pork Belly and Chicken bao buns. They were both amazing. The brussel sprouts were shredded into a slaw-type dish and the buns were very juicy and well-flavoured. My only criticism is that the salt was a bit heavy-handed so the sprouts lost their spark after a few bites. Would still recommend the dish nonetheless. For the main, the Chap Chae noodles were ordered and they were also delicious - the seasoning was spot on and tasted home-y. The star of the night was the Ridiculous (carrot cake) dessert. It was layered with ice cream, carrot cake and a thin layer similar to mochi. The combination of the three created such a unique and fulfilling texture and flavour. Note: this restaurant is quite loud in terms of music.

It was really delicious food, but a bit of a waiting time. We even got a free shot of sake to taste. Highly recommended.

A scene-y Chicago gem. Oldie, but goodie with amazing food & cocktails. Must orders are their oxtail potsticker, escolar the great white, pork belly bao bun. I believe they still have Industry Sunday Brunch, so if it’s your day off, don’t miss out on it!

Nolan was our server. Excellent service with attention to all our needs and polite and present the whole time we were there. We had a baby with us 12 adults and he managed to take care of us all beautifully. Pleasantly surprised that this was a great baby friendly dining experience. Food was also great. Everything had an interesting spin and the dessert sundae was amazing. Would go again and recommend to others.

We hosted our office holiday party at Sunda and could not be more thrilled with the service and event! The food was fantastic as always, but the service and atmosphere really stood out. They went above and beyond to accommodate all of our last minute requests and we will absolutely be hosting another party here in the future!
