We dined at Il Porcellino on a Saturday night. It was quite busy and fairly loud. The restaurant was decorated nicely and clean. The menu is fairly small. Food was good and hot. Garlic bread, salad and the stuffed mushrooms were great. Overall, the restaurant was average for Italian food.

This is one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. The gnocchi bolognese was to die for, it’s so fluffy and delicious. The atmosphere was so pretty too with all the lights. Will definitely come back when I’m in Chicago next! Also prices are pretty affordable for how good the food/portion sizes are.

Il Porcellino surpassed expectations with its delicious Italian fare. Celebrating Christmas Eve there was a delight, thanks to the inviting vibe and impeccable service. From start to finish, a memorable dining experience that I highly recommend.

Very very good atmosphere for chatting and having dinner! The lasagna tastes a bit salty but still very tasty! I wished I could have stayed longer and with friends to enjoy the vibe here more! Otherwise it's also a very good and single-friednly restaurant!

Went here a few months ago. Food was amazing, service was great. The waitress was so sweet and very accommodating of my food allergies. They have gluten free pasta which is nice. Decor is super cute.

Such a nice place! The atmosphere gets my full 5 stars! Service is nice too. We were a larger group but the server never forgot what I asked for. Food was the only….meh. Cheese bread was ok. Calamari was decent. Steak was medium well when I asked for medium. Tiramisu was EXCELLENT! Was a little disappointed that my old fashioned didn’t have a bourbon cherry. Not a deal breaker, but what’s an old fashioned without the cherry?

Great pasta restaurant, I had the chicken penne. It was actually slightly spicy even though it was a creme red sauce. Over the chicken was cooked perfectly and the mozzarella shreds were a nice addition. I also, highly recommend getting the stuffed mushroom app if you like garlic, excellent 👌.

Loved our meal! A really incredible steak with what I thought would be just fired were so much more!
Their donuts and tiramisu which were the perfect way to end the night paired with a cappuccino!
I will say it does take a while to get your drinks at the the table so order ahead of the empty glass.

Dinner was excellent. Highly recommend the whole loaf garlic bread, the burrata lasagna, and the spiced apple cake. The service was also amazing- they were super quick, so nice, and extremely attentive.

We had an outstanding experience at II Porcellino for dinner today. The restaurant is beautiful, the northern Italian cuisine is fantastic, and the service was excellent. There is definitely a reason why this place gets packed!

I enjoyed this place for sure. We went for my husbands birthday with two kids and they were very family friendly. They brought us tiny arancini on the house. We chose to do the family style dinner. The garlic cheese bread was delicious. The cesear salad was good but you might taste the anchovy in the dressing. It did not stop me from eating it. We also had the calamari and meatballs. Both a big hit at our table. For pasta we had the rigatoni in vodka sauce and the gnocchi bolognese. They were both a bit spicy so not for my kids but the adults enjoyed it. For our entrees we had chicken Vesuvio and we opted for the steak with garlic fries which was an additional $5 a person. I personally didn't see $25 worth of steak on my plate. But it was tasty. Our server was very attentive. He brought out our food quickly, kept our drinks filled and promised to bring out something special for my daughter to celebrate her daddy's bday. The tirimisu was great I absolutely recommend it. I also had the prosecco by the glass. It was good 😊. My kids were well fed and treated wonderfully and in turn they behaved which is a plus for me. I look forward to going back on date night. The atmosphere was gemreat too. Almost like a nieghborhood place, where everyone knows your name.

I celebrated my bachelorette dinner at this place . The food was excellent,staff were attentive and very polite, and the drinks were superb. I would recommend this place for anyone who's looking for a fancy yet affordable Italian style restaurant.

In our first trip to Chicago from NYC we were blown away with this restaurant. Everything from the drinks, to the food, to the ambiance and the staff was spectacular. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an intimate restaurant with great personality. We will definitely be coming back!!

Amazing Everything. I was in for a 5 pm dinner this past saturday and tried the Family Style dinner with friends and everything was delicious, the wait staff was attentive and fun and they even accommodated our request for a booth. I recommend making a reservation.

Il Porcellino with its homemade pasta has improved 100% from a year ago. Delicious. Long seating times when not yet busy and wait staff availability is still an issue. It’s refreshing that their food under their new chef is so great!! They are in my neighborhood.

Il Porcellino is exactly what an old school Italian restaurant should be. Sinatra in the background, nice wine list, food like Nana would make, efficient but not intrusive service, they brought me extra fennel for my pasta, expresso and an Amaro to finish the night. Il Porcelino is the real deal.

Spent the weekend in Chicago for our anniversary and found this place on a whim..
Happened to read the menu while walking by and immediately saw brussel sprouts...ended up canceling our reservations at another restaurant for a wonderful dinner! The staff was excellent and the bartenders are true artists! Thank you to C.J. And Anna for making such a wonderful evening! We will be back!

The food was delicious! We started with cocktails & two appetizers, the Buratta & the meatballs. The complimentary arancini was a welcome surprise! For entrees two of us had the short ribs with polenta, another had the ravioli, and the fourth person had the steak which were all cooked perfectly. We shared a great bottle is Nebbiolo and we shared two tasty desserts! The semifreddo & the tiramiso. The soundtrack that reminded us of Goodfellows etc. was fantastic! The waitstaff was also couteous and friendly!
