Review The Dearborn - Chicago

The food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance...all fantastic! It was just a short walk from our hotel at Cambria so we decided to give it a try. For my entree I ordered the Dearborn Burger and it was so delicious. I ended up eating the whole thing and paid for it big time later but it was so delicious. They charged $5 to add bacon and $2 to add onions which was pricey! Now the drinks were good as well. I really liked the peaches, peaches, peaches cocktail & their take on the Bramble was fine. It was my birthday and they did a complimentary dessert with a candle. Our server was very attentive and funny. Great experience. Oh, also...we made reservations for 7:30pm or somewhere around that but arrived 30 minutes before. We were seated right away. I would still make a reservation just for times sake but it seems that if you walk in with a small party, you can get seated pretty quickly.

Great brunch location with fast service and quality food. Wagyu sandwich was delicious, tender beef, and solid seasoning. Brussels sprouts, however, were bit oily due to excess oil and choice of cheese, I would not recommend if you seek something light for your side dish. Macaroni and cheese was on point with balanced seasoning and with good textures. Chicken wings were a great appetizer. It’s slightly on the sweet side but the hot sauce makes the flavor perfectly balanced. Super crispy shell and tender, fall-of-the-bone meat were the highlights. Our server was attentive.

Old school Chicago restaurant with a large selection of American food and great cocktail options served by workers in classic Chicago style. We came for lunch and it was packed, so I'd recommend making a reservation vs walking in. The buffalo chicken sandwich and the BLT were amazing, the portions and side of fries were huge and one easily would feed two people. They also have good bourbon drinks, bartenders are not rookies by any means. Coming for brunch or dinner are both great as the menu fits either need, can't wait to come back for the burger. At least 10 came out of the kitchen as we were there.

Came for lunch, got seated right away in the bar area and really enjoyed our experience. Our server, Ting, was very attentive, and we ordered the everything Parkerhouse rolls, and the beat Bobby Flay fish and chips. Both of them came out piping hot and fresh. They make the rolls to order and Really are perfection!

Great service, great food, great ambiance! What more can I say? Tried the bone marrow for the first time was so delicious as well as the fish ceviche, melt in your mouth! The burger Wellington was something I’d never tried before (only ever had beef Wellington) but it was so delicious! The peaches peaches peaches cocktail was amazing! The ‘how do you like them apples’ cocktail was just ok. All in all fantastic date night out! I’d come again!

We had a lovely time celebrating my teenager’s birthday. I called ahead to reserve a table of 5, and was warmly and swiftly taken care of. The food was delicious, the ambient laid back yet fancy, the server (Angelo) was efficient, kind, and friendly, and finally, in the end Amy, one of the owners came to congratulate my daughter and thank us. A kind touch! I highly recommend this location.

Came in for lunch and Olivia was our server. She was very attentive and informative about everything. The place was extremely clean and nicely decorated with a cozy feel. The food was outstanding! We got fried chicken and fish n chips! As we were leaving we asked for good dessert spot for after a show we were headed to later on. She said they have the best desserts and to come back later. That we did. Highly recommend this place! Twice in one day and I would do it again……

This place was good but didn't really live up to the hype. It was loud, service was meh and the food was good but also super heavy. The ice creams were okay but there is an apple dutch ice cream and pie plate advertised and not served. This was a bummer because it was part of the reason we went there. Our serverwas pretty hard pressing us for drinks. I'm not sure if it's because we were sat at the tables by the bar but that wasn't our choice. We had a reservation for 6pm, arrived timely and sat around 6:20pm. Our food came out pretty quickly and we were able to make it to our show on time.

Went here to celebrate friends birthdays and we had such an amazing experience. From the food, to the drinks, and the exceptional service given by all the staff. From the beginning to the end we felt very welcomed and not to mention, the food was very tasty and filling. Bar and atmosphere all around was very nice as well. Thank you

A hang out spot, a date night rendezvous or a private event, The Dearborn had all these vibes when I stopped in for dinner with my family. Reservations suggested but I was lucky to nab a table for what looked to be a very busy Wednesday night. Bar was packed, dining room was 90% full. Great energy and everyone was having a good time, you could hear it. Didn't mind as we were there to soak in the vibe and to eat! The Dearborn Burger (added a fried egg) was the best burger I've had in Chicago thus far. Notable mentions: the duck and foie gras dumplings, and the Wellington Burger. Pastry shell was so savory and delicious, I could eat that any day! This spot has the best Fish n' Chips per the menu and it Beat Bobby Flay. Congrats!

Great spot for dinner and drinks in the loop. Portions are generous, and cocktails are a highlight. Stopped in before a show and got seated promptly without a reservation, though would recommend reserving ahead during peak dinner hours. The server took time to walk through entire menu to highlight best options for my dietary restrictions, though there were sadly few gluten-free options.

loved this place, loved the staff, loved the food. the ceviche was so good we cleaned the plate. then we had the duck and the chicken — both are worth trying; the chicken has more food on the plate so i would go with that if you’re really hungry. the gnocchi with the chicken is tender and homemade, and i cannot comprehend how they get the butternut squash purée so smooth that is served with the duck. i will absolutely be back to order the fish and chips.

Absolutely amazing food and drinks with a nice heavy pour! The burrata and the prosciutto & fried egg pizza are must trys! The wait for the dining room was long so we sat at the bar but I feel like we got the best seat in the house....high top table in front of the big open patio with a great view of the street. The bar area in general has great seating, so just pop over if the wait is too long!

Have been meaning to eat here for some time. I'm glad we were able to finally cross it off the restaurant list. Visited during the week for 1p lunch. Great atmosphere... we were seated within minutes. Service was attentive. For it to have been a full house during the lunch rush, the food came out really quick. The drink was good and hit the spot, turn it to happy hour really quick. The food was literally finger licking good. We are adding this to places to visit.

Everything is DEFINITELY worth it! The Ambiance, The Staff’s “Cooper, Greg & Michael” just to name a few we’ve encountered thus far, the food, the prices. Clean & Tidy Dining Area & Bathroom! Y’all can try the creamy mashed potatoes—it’s to die for! It goes well with anything 🙂

Incredible experience. I was anxious when I first entered and worried I had picked the wrong restaurant to dine with my parents who were from out of town. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about and as the night went on I became very pleased with this choice of restaurant. Let me start by saying the food was absolutely delicious. From presentation, to flavor, and how everything was cooked we were all so satisfied. Our server was bubbly/accomodating and never failed to answer our questions or tend to our needs. The ambiance and music was rather nice. And it was really fun to be in a place with outstanding customer service. I ordered Lillyana's Garden a delicious mocktail along with the salmon ceasar and hubby had a burger with fries. My parents ordered the steak with brussel sprouts and fish & chips. Everything was soo yummy! I forgot to take pics but we even ordered dessert. Toffee date cake with ice cream and the cookies were really unique and upscale. I loved it! 😍 The owner or GM came by to check in with us which was so awesome. He even offered to take our pic inside the restaurant. Overall lovely time and I will be back. I'd say this is a good tourist spot and nice place for natives to come enjoy a great evening with friends or family. The Dearborn you have my utmost respect. Thanks for the great food and wonderful service 🥰

Restaurant had a good vibe to it and the food had a nice presentation. I liked how the fish and chips came with Tartar sauce, lemon, vinegar, and Cole slaw. I ordered the Japanese curry sauce as well and thought it was ok. I did like how the fries were crunchy and well seasoned. The food itself tasted good, but it was not mind blowing. Everyone at the restaurant was polite which was not something I have experienced in a restaurant for a while. The restaurant had live music but the band was only there for 10 minutes or so. We went around 2pm on a Sunday and it was not busy

I have been to the Dearborn many times as a patron and now as a frequent performer and every experience has been nothing short of delicious and delightful! The food is always on point and the wait staff are always so kind and attentive. Not only would I recommend this place for the fantastic food and staff but the restaurant is also beautiful. This is a great place if you’re looking for a meal before a show, an awesome brunch or just a night out for perfect dinner. My top recommendations are the burger, parfait for brunch or the pork chop!

My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in Chicago over the past couple of days, and after looking for restaurants downtown, I decided to make a reservation at The Dearborn. Other than buying tickets to see Hamilton, this was easily the best choice we made while in Chicago. 5 stars does not do this place justice. Our server Mike, was probably the best server we've ever had and the food was outstanding. Cocktails were good, wine list is great (with a great choice of bottles for under $100), and the ambiance was superb. From the Shwarma tacos to the scallops and barley risotto to the homemade churros and ice cream this place is a homerun. We will never take another trip to Chicago without dining at The Dearborn! Kudos to the whole team!

Simply superb! Fine dining with a classy pub vibe. Tony is an amazing server, Sarah came to check up on us, and the kitchen seems to run flawlessly. We enjoyed it so much, we went twice during our weekend stay in Chicago. Would highly recommend everything we tried: fried chicken, elote, Dearborn burger, cinnamon roll French toast, bacon, pastrami hash. And a special birthday treat! Thanks to the Dearborn for making my birthday so delicious! 😘

Just ate here and had the prime rib for two with a friend. Prime rib with homemade sauce was so flavorful. The mashed potatoes, corn, and bread were wonderful as well. The brussel sprouts were the best I’ve ever had and I don’t like brussel sprouts. Great service. Our waiter Michael was excellent. Reasonably priced for the quality of food, service, and experience. The Black Forest Cake was good as well. We didn’t have a reservation and was told an hour wait, but after 5 minutes we were told our table was ready due to a cancellation. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Andrew and the entire waitstaff are phenomenal and knowledgable. Great wine recommendation. We had burrata as the starter. What creaminess in the cheese and fresh zing in the veggies. Lovely presentation, too. We had the table ribeye, with mashed potatoes, cream corn and Brussels. The accompanying marrow sauce was otherworldly good. Amazing dinner. We split their famous churros with ice cream, sitting in pumpkin purée with a toffee sauce. I made myself take only two bites with my coffee; it was amazing. Restaurant decor is sophisticated and chic, industrial with warm notes in the wood tables and floor. A great experience!

It was really fabulous. The best Prime Rib I have ever put in my mouth. Thank you for the family memories that were made there. There was four of us and we have the family dinner and it was phenomenal. All we needed and more. Totally worth the dining experience.

The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our server provided great recommendations and also provided ideas on places to go in Chicago. Sit at bar top tables if weather is nice and great for people watching.

Food was great! The 1/2 Wedge Salad was one of the best salads that I have had in a long time. Quiche was a large portion and also very good.

We had a table of 5 and ordered the 27 Oz porterhouse steak ....it was cooked to perfection plus 5 delicious sides. The corn and Brussel sprouts were especially good. Top it off with great drinks and desserts, plus Pedro our waiter and it could not have been better,

We had a great experience! The food, drink and ambience were all just perfect! The wait staff were super helpful and allowed us to take our time and enjoy the meal. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic customer service and food! We were running late for our pre- show reservation and called. The host told us they’d try to get us in once we arrived. Upon arrival, with a crowded waiting area, the gracious host seated us right away. It took minutes for our wonderful server to arrive and from that point on, it was wonderful! (Our server was fantastic- Rodney)

Made a reservation for my son and I for 6:00, since we were going to see The 2Cellos at 7:30. We were seated right away and greeted very shortly after. We shared the wedge salad (share suggested by or server which I appreciated), and both ordered the bison burger medium rare. Excellent. It comes with fries which we thought were a bit salty, but the white dip was delicious. I also got a mule cocktail (blueberry one suggested by our server). The food came quickly. Water was filled each time it got 1/2 full. We don’t have room for desert but the churro looked amazing. The table next to us ordered it. Bathrooms were clean. Waited a bit to pay the check, but not too long. Short walk to the theater. Excellent evening with my 13 year old.
