We ate there on Friday evening. Was very busy. The food was excellent, frog leg appetizer, crab cake app., lake perch, and wedge salad. All was fantastic. We had an excellent waiter, Rene Alonzo. He made great recommendations on our dinner and took very good care of us. Ask for him if you go.

My sister and I waited a bit for a table, but it was absolutely worth it! Keith, the bartender, was amazing and so very accommodating. The shrimp and oysters were fresh and delicious. Thanks for a lovely evening!!!

I wanted to love the food here but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Half the mussels didn't open, the halibut was very dry- the rest of our food was delicious though and they didn't change us for the two dishes that clearly weren't up to their standards.The frog legs were so good and fun!Service was great

My parties dining experience at Hugo’s was top notch and I would recommend it to anyone. I have dined at many high end resting and this was one of the BEST experiences and food I have ever had. Denise our waitress was PHENOMENAL. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND DINIG WITH HER. Management-you have a gem on your hands with her and should jeep her happy at all costs. Our party enjoyed the frog legs, salmon, New York strip steak, and tuna. All were top notch! If you are in Chicago, Hugo’s is a MUST!

This place was AMAZING! Who would've thought that frog legs could be so delicious! Crab mac and cheese was good also. Steak was super tender but was unfortunately bland. Lake Superior whitefish needed a little salt as well. The ice cream was great and was absolutely huge! Staff were very attentive and friendly. I would definitely make reservations as it's very busy. Upscale prices. Highly recommend going

Awesome!!! Love this local gem! Kayla rocks! She Is the best server,host. She practically reads your mind and anticipates what you need before you even know you need something. This is the best quality for a server to have in my opinion. My wife and I own nightclubs and have a real appreciation for an exceptional server and Kayla is exceptional.
Food is fabulous! It's like visiting family when you have dinner here. Thanks Kayla!

The outdoor seat is a little cramp where we were seated, otherwise everything was great. We had the seafood tower, frog legs, and a NY strip. Steak came in too over, and waitress actually initiated and checked if we wanted to return. Seafood tower was fresh, but the star was really the frog leg, great flavour and texture.
The carrot cake is also something, try it if you dare.

Easy to say we enjoyed every bite from quite a few dishes cooked to perfection. Delicious frog legs, a must try, the steak was tender, juicy flavorful and perfectly cooked, the crab cake also a must try!
Great staff, knowledgeable, friendly and very professional, a challenge for many restaurants today.
Been there, returned and will be happy to come again when back in Chicago

Impeccable service. Great food. Lovely atmosphere. The calamari tasted very fresh. The Mac and cheese side was delicious. I had the Walleye entree with a cup of chowder soup. Everything here was delicious.

Very friendly staff as made room for our group of six, even though venue was PACKED.
Had some drinks, oysters, chowder and burger. Nothing to complain about with any of our selections. Diverse wine list with values sprinkled throughout.
Definitely want to make a return visit during $1 oyster happy hour.

Hugo’s squeezed us in and were extremely accommodating. Extensive wine list, good steaks, tasty shell fish / tuna bites on a tower. Wasn’t overly pricey. Steaks were good but not as tasty as we were expecting. Will be eating seafood next time. The atmosphere is the die for and our waiter was great, as well as the bathroom attendant. Stiff drinks, fresh tea as well!

Our waiter, Brandon, was excellent. Good personality, funny, attentive. The manager, middle aged gentleman, was outstanding! The food was prepared perfectly. The sauce with the tuna.... heaven in my mouth! Such a perfect way to start our weekend getaway from kids, work and school.

Frog legs were absolutely phenomenal, nice garlicky flavor and very tender. Escargot and garlic butter with toasted crustini bread was perfectly matched. Halibut was a good size and light and flaky with a nice buttery flavor. Peas and mushrooms that came with it were fantastic. Dining partners seared tuna pouvre was perfectly seared with a nice peppery bite to it. Carrot cake dessert must of weighed several pounds for a single slice. Love this place and will return when coming back to Chicago.

Good food and wine selection at top prices. The steak and lobster were both very high quality and the wine choices were excellent, though at 4x pricing. The service was great. The dessert slice of cake was crazy big. We still have some in the freezer.

First time trying Hugo's and will definitely be back. Great service starting from the hostess to our waiter. Made a reservation and even if I couldn't select outdoor seating they accommodated my family and I. I was also celebrating my birthday and they brought out a dessert on the house. Everything we got was delicious!

Went for a weekly date night, ordered the snapper and it was over cooked / dry. The GM Mark was incredibly kind and insisted on replacing it with something else (ended up with the seabass which was excellent)
Really appreciate the great service despite willing to just eat what I ordered.
Our server was efficient & friendly. Drinks were delivered quickly (espresso martinis are amazing) only downside is how packed the restaurant is but it’s a hot spot.
