Review Les Nomades - Chicago

Meggie “Meggie with an 'e'” Mangione
Exquisite experience and wonderful choice for my birthday! Everything was done with incredible attention to detail. We enjoyed the four course meal option - recommend the scallop duo, lobster salad followed by short rib and the crème brûlée for dessert! Hubs had a special off-the-menu dessert AND chocolate soufflé that was magnifique! 👌🏽

Great service! Lovely ambiance! Hazelnut Soufflé is fantastic. Lobster salad is wonderful. But the sauce for duck was average… not impressed by it. It was kind of a unbalanced asian fusion sauce. Kind of disappointed by our main entree

Do NOT pass up an opportunity to dine at Les Nomades. This was quite possibly one of the very best meals we have had anywhere. Chicago has some great restaurants, but this was a truly unique, divine, and service that was as you would expect it to be. Truly amazing.

We went to celebrate my friend birthday 2022 October. The location easy to find, this charming restaurant it is between 2 skyscrapers, very autentic. When you step inside, your timezone going back like the beginning of XXI century. You are greeted at the entrance, coats taking care , sitted like in old times, feeling like a queen. They will explain the meniu, (gourmet food) you can choose between 3 or 5 courses. Wine list endless. We choose oysters, pate, duck, halibut and 2 kinds of delicious desserts. Yes food was exceptional, (The fish wasn't my favorite, it did smelled fish, but the sauce what was coming with the fish, very good),service yes, like should be everywhere. One note for you guy's: It's not cheap, so be prepared $$$$. If you like gourmet food and French ambience and treated like a queen and you have money to spent, then this is your place... Enyoj it!

Put environment and service aside, the taste of food itself is really not that outstanding. Well, of course it is good, but not what I expected for a fine dining restaurant like this. Especially the lamb main course—it is totally a disappointment. But anyways, their foie gras is really really good, probably one of the best that I ever had in the US. Their dessert and starter are not bad as well. Not to be offensive to anybody, but their customers are mainly elder people. So do expect that classical vibe (from both the diners and the deco). Service is not bad. Descent. Probably won’t come back again. The experience just doesn’t get me.

Let’s start by the facts ! First is this house in between two sky scrapers about less the a ft apart , have you seen the movie up! ? Well kinda like that I think that’s pretty cool. The atmosphere is very cozy and elegant , I almost felt like a general walking inside a military building well organized and respectful. We were taken to the upstairs room a bit mor private and we went because it was my wife’s birthday , The menu is simple is a 4-5 course menu and you get to pick out of 2-3 choices for each section . Appetizer Soup or salad Main entree Desert I would suggest to order the oysters or the foie gras! Absolutely amazing ! The Foie Gras is a sweeter dish. With a good balance of sweet , sour an salty ! Next I would get the the mushroom soup if fenomenal ! Almost feels like a crea of mushroom but with out any cream the texture is soft and snappy! Then I suggest get the lamb ! Omg it actually brought a tear or two while eating it was expertly cooked I got mine medium rare and was on point ! Also the fish comes with a red wine sauce which out of this world ! Make sure you order enough bread to help you clean the plate out of that sauce ! Also to my knowledge the chef is well known for his sauces so I highly recommend any dish with a sauce. Overall it was a great experience very private and cozy ! Excellent for a romantic getaway or even just for a relaxed night. The food is amazing and very unique . I have eaten in many places in France including Eiffel Tower tour 54 restaurants and this is by far one of the best French restaurants I have attended . 100% recommended well worth every dollar

We come every year for a Christmas dinner and it's always amazing. The service is always outstanding and one of the best teams that I have had served me.

One of the best in Chicago. The asparagus and mushroom risotto is fabulous and smells like spring. The oxtail consomme is hearty and reminds one of Pho broth. Souffle is the best I have ever tasted. The inside has a foam like texture and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back. Service was also flawless. The food was definitely worth the steep price tag.

Always an extreme pleasure to dine here. Maribeth, Roland, Nick, and the rest of the team are tops in their field, and great people to boot. We've been going here several times a year for nearly 10 years; as Denverites, it's our reason to visit Chicago. Very Highly Recommended

What a charming place for a night out with your special someone or an anniversary.  The food was exquisite and amazing in every way.  From the moment we walked in, the  woman in coat check was so sweet and inviting. They seated us on the second floor near the fire place and it was darling and so romantic.  We had a fixed menu with many options.   Started with Artichoke terrine, petite salade, hazelnut vinaigrette and Seared Hudson Valley, foie gras, baked apple, banana water and they were both perfect in taste and so delicious.  To be honest, I didn't think I'd enjoy the four gras but it was perfection.  We also enjoyed the Mixed greens Belgian endive salad fresh Wisconsin goat cheese, carmelized pecans and walnuts, red wine vinaigrette.  For dinner we ordered the Braised Wagyu beef short rib, pommes gratin, sauce Bordelaise and the Beef tenderloin.  Both were cooked to perfection and so tender with lots of flavor.  For dessert, we love chocolate so we ordered the Warm flourless chocolate cake, liquid cassis ganache center, vanilla ice cream and the Double chocolate cake, cremeux, brownie biscuit, truffle chantilly.  The double chocolate was FIRE!  They also brought out some mini desserts in the end that they prepare in house and they were so cute and yummy.  Definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back.  Our server Josie was incredible!  She was so cute, kind, and attentive.  She had some great recommendations.  Carlos I believe was the manager, he made sure to keep the fire place going all night and a great conversationist.  Thanks for a lovely evening.

Classic Français. Great service. Ok venue (old but still classic). Excellent prix fixe menu. Will repeat! Merci.

There is a reason this place has been around for as long as it has. Food and service was 10s across the board, we felt like royalty the whole evening. One of the best French meals I’ve ever had and we are looking forward to coming back.

Some high end restaurants leave you wondering “was it worth it?” Not Los Nomades. The building is elegant. The staff, from the friendly greeting and all through, are pitch-perfect in being sensitive to not interrupt conversations, but still attentive. And the food is outstanding, every dish. The bill was indeed high, but seems a bargain for a restaurant that does everything excellently. For a special event, or if you can afford it more often, Les Nomades is definitely worth it.

This was the best meal I've ever eaten and I actually mean that. I couldn't stop smiling because every course had a unique and wonderful combination of rich flavor. When you get there, Mary Beth takes your coat with a warm smile on her face. It's a small and intimate restaurant with dim lighting and quiet conversation at every table. The staff was knowledgeable and professional, which was a neat part of the experience. My parents and I each ordered five courses. First course: I got the caviar surprise. Very balanced and rich flavor. Wasn't overwhelmed by the saltiness of the caviar. My Dad got the scallops and poached lobster and loved it. Second: Warm lobster salad. A salad with a generous portion of lobster and a bit of fruit with a wonderful combination of sauce and dressing. Amazing. Third: The sauteed loup de mer. Also delicious. The mushrooms were an explosion of flavor. Each of our party got something different and it was all good. Fourth: I got the Peking duck breast. This was by far and away better than the ribeye and short rib that my parents ordered. Fifth: I ordered the souffles. It doesn't matter what you order for desert. It's all incredible. This is one of maybe three truly fine dining experiences I've ever had, so take this for what it's worth.

Great food served impeccably in a cozy space. Expensive but worth it.
