Poppy's Dogs are Top Dog. What a great hot dog diner! Very friendly staff and GREAT food. You have got to try the Poppy Dog, very different. Not into hot dogs, then you have got to have the chicken salad sandwich, it is the best in Virginia and made fresh.
Try them for breakfast too.
Poppy's a great neighborhood diner feeling. The food is simple, but delicious. You are treated like family and everyone that's there has a story. Just eat and listen you will have a great time.
This place is awesome! The hotdogs are great, the atmosphere was like a diner, the people were polite. If you want good lunch food, this is the place to go!
I have lived up the block from this place for about a year now, and finally decided to go in and try some of their cuisine. My son, who is 9, suggested that we tried their chili dogs. We had chili, cheese, onions, and mustard. That sounds like your practical, everyday dog, but there was something about the chili that seemed to really make it hit home for me and my son. We also upgraded our fries to also have chili and cheese. "Sloppy deliciousness!", as my son put it. And I can't agree more! We both look forward to coming back to this down to earth, hometown feel, corner dive again soon. I think I'll try a Belgium waffle next go-round. 👍

I was deeply saddened when I was misinformed about their Saturday hours though, all things on Google say 3:00, but it’s actually 1:00. 😒
