Cafe Rouge

Nice food in French style. Ate garlic mushrooms followed by chicken provincial, followed by Bread and Butter pudding from brioche bread. Starter lovely with mushrooms in garlicky mushroom sauce on toast. Chicken excellent- nice sauce, lovely mash, good chicken. Pudding was ok - sauce anglais was a little weak and sparing. Service superb and attentive. Atmosphere good, intimate, quietly busy. Restaurant was clean.

Went on a Groupon deal. Had a delicious French onion soup. And husband had a pasta dish to start which was very tasty. Really good value via the Groupon. Had a lovely Bellini Cocktail which would have been far nicer with a raspberry in. But that's just personal opinion. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It's a good solid restaurant. There's a nice choice of franglais dishes. However there's no kids choices so not the place if you have young children. That may or may not be a plus. The food is priced around average to high for this type of restaurant chain. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food we ordered turned up promptly and was hot. Drink choices are limited to bottled beers, wines and a smattering of cocktails. With the usual selection of soft and hot drinks. Be warned they are on the the high side of average. When we went it was fairly quiet. So there wasn't much of an atmosphere. But I would imagine that it gets quite buzz when busier. There is a single disabled toilet on the ground floor otherwise the loos are up 4 flights of stairs. So don't leave it 'til the last minute. There parking in the multi-storey around 500metres away. The entrance is fairly accessible although the doors are manual and relatively heavy. Although there's plenty of space between tables. In all a good restaurant tasty, hot food and good service. We would return.

Good place in a great location as close to centre of town, service was good nice and friendly staff. food was all as expected. Good deals if you are looking for a set menu. Access was good for people who need a ramp I.e. wheel chair or buggy this is located on the left hand side when entering the cafe. We had a relaxing evening there thank you.

Visited with my wife last evening for dinner! Excellent meal as usual plus we had 2 free gin blooms! That deal finished yesterday but they were terrific! We use this venue often, in fact we went there with friends for lunch last week. Friends were very impressed. Good service and attentive, friendly staff! Darina, our waitress is lovely!
